Chapter 11 - Fexts the way to go

The next few days of his life were all spent in his room, he studied the mana stones he found in the gates and tried to absorb them, the first three days he had no success, but from the fourth day, he managed to start the absorbing process and increase his mana by two small ranks, as expected however, he reached a limit, he couldn't absorb them anymore, probably because his rank was higher than than the mana stones one.

His mana was now low rank 19th, that meant

He had 365 mana point,(five for every small rank).

Having that many mana points could allow him to use the x2 superhuman motion for 45 seconds, also, he used his free time during these last days to practice in his newly acquired skill.

In six days, his skill level rose to mid rank 3

And he now had one minute and a half of time for his new trump card.

Urging to try it, after six days of research and training, he decided to enter another gate, maybe a rank seven, or even a rank eight this time.

He searched online, not wasting a single second.

In all the outskirts of Moscow, the best gates for him to raid were all above rank nine as the lower ranking ones were all monopolized by the Slavic mythology pantheon to train their new recruits.

He wasn't sure if he could beat a rank nine gate, still, he had no other choices, he couldn't just wait indefinitely for a low rank gate to open, and the last six days were enough break time for him.

He had to get strong and he had to do it quickly, reminding him of this was the news, that announced the first human to surpass the hundredth awakening: Hercules.

Truth is, he probably wasn't the first but the first to announce it, since Hercules is known for his strength and not for his intellect, while the others might've thought about keeping their strength a secret, he just wanted to flex it to the world.

Also, there was an article that talked about the appearance of a black rank gate in russia, the country invited one of the deities from India, providing them with funding in exchange for their help in clearing the gate.

Even though he wasn't really concerned with the situation since two awakened dieties would've taken care of the situation, he still couldn't help but worry about what would've happened in case they failed.

He left the hotel and went straight to the rank nine gate, this time, the prevalent gate color was orange and only a shade of red remained in the outermost section of the oval.

He entered fearlessly not caring about the rank difference, this gate wasn't new, he knew about what monsters he would find in the the gate and their weakness.

Inside the gate, it didn't even take him five minutes before encountering a monster.

The monsters in this gate weren't normal:

Only considering their resistance and strength they could be easily mistaken as rank eleven or even higher, the only reason their rank was so low was because of a fatal weakness, they are weak to glass.

Their name is Fexts.

They are undead very similar to people, the only difference is their rotting skin color and their reduced intelligence.

They always wear full heavy armor, and are equipped with spears or swords, even if always quite rusty.

They are extremely weak to glass, well who in their right would use glass as a weapon, you might think, you're right, a normal mind would've never thought about anything like that, but Bruno's mind wasn't normal, he had already prepared a glass dagger:

[name: transparent dagger

Rank: 10th

Description: a dagger made by one of the best blacksmiths of Murano in the outskirts of Venice.

Effect: contrary to the material it's made from, it's sturdy and slices well, you might however encounter truble with piercing as it's not really pointy.

Mana conductivity: zero percent

]

It had costed him almost seventy five thousands, but it would've definitely been worth it, as Fext's bones went for approximately two thousand euros per kilogram.

He also spent some money on a new dimensional bag that could now hold up to fifteen square meters(49 feet) of space.

He instantly activated his newly acquired ability: superhuman motion, everything apart from him slowed down, and the Fext movemens were easily predicted, he sliced the Fexts six times in only a single second.

The poor undead found himself enveloped in darkness for the second time before he could even react.

He took off the rusty armor and the worn out weapons from the dead body, and stored the carcass in his bag.

He fought another eight Fexts before he run out of time on his skill and was forced to return to his "humble" lodge.

While going home he stopped at the A.A. to sell the bodies in his bag, on the front desk was the crazy lady from last time, they both gasped as if they had seen a ghost before controlling themselves to avoid causing another scene in front of all the others people.

With just nine bodies, he earned a total of 193,000 euros(~210,000 UDS).

He still kept the mana stones and absorbed them late at night, for five days this was his routine:

The morning he left immediately after breakfast and went to the gate, he sold the materials to the association before lunch to avoid meeting with the crazy lady, and then he passed all the evening researching mythologies and absorbing the mana crystals he gained from the hunt.
