"I am telling you father, she did not spend the night over," Verbena pouted accusingly. She was currently ratting out Astoria, after she drowned her. She did not even bat an eye lid as she went on making the Count hate Astoria more.
"Is that true, Sena?" Count Edgar asked, not looking up from the stake he was slicing. Countess Myrcella looked up at Verbena to confirm if what they were saying was true. She then turned to look at Sena for confirmation when Verbena casually and happily munched on her meal.
"It's true, father," Sena confirmed. Myrcella was shocked, her eyes widening, unconsciously looking up at the stairs. If that prostitute's daughter followed her mother's footsteps, how nice it would be! It would be easier to kick her out without having to deal her and stain their hands with her nasty blood.
She beamed discreetly as she looked at Verbena. She was sure her daughters had a hand in this, if not, how would they know if that thing was in its room?
Verbena, feeling her mother's eyes on her, smirked lightly, to confirm her mother's suspicions.
"Father, I heard she had been going out alot recently," Verbena went on, trying her best not to sound as if she was snitching. She made it sound casual as she drunk her juice.
"Surely, what is she upto? Do you have any idea?" Myrcella asked.
"I h-heard she h-had been mee-meeting with....." Verbena trailed off, as if ashamed of saying it out loud. Of course everyone understood, she was meeting with men.
"Surely, we have tried our best, it seems like it is in her blood to follow....." Myrcella also trailed off. She and her daughters knew, their job was done.
"No talking while eating!" Edgar growled in a tone that was too calm and low that the ladies shivered mentally. Even if they don't find her in her room, no one would look for her. Because the Count would declare cutting ties with her. What a good was too start the day.
"Are you sure she isn't in her room?" he asked Sena after he had washed down his mouth with juice. They were done with breakfast.
"Yes, father," Sena replied respectfully, just like how a lady should. If anything, Edgar loved his Sena, she was the perfect daughter. She acted just like a perfect example for ladies of her age. She didn't have nonsense stuff going on like Verbena who spent her days gossiping with that Grand Duke's daughter, Lady Selyse.
That doesn't mean he didn't love his Verbena though, she was clearly really pretty. That is good for a lady. She won't end up badly.
He loved Sena more because she takes alot after him, and is the hope of this generation Lannisters.
So hearing her answer, he was sure that biggest mistake of his life was not in her room. He wouldn't dare to look for her if she wasn't, and she was most definately not allowed to come back. Atleast the proof of his mistake and disappear from his sight.
He walked up the stairs, in his mind, feeling relieved not to find that thing in its room. He pushed the door open so harshly that it almost broke.
"Oh my good Lord!"
What? Isn't that the same 'not in her room Astoria' in question? Why was she jumping in surprise from her bed?
"Father? What is it that you drop by today?" I asked, leisurely sitting on my bed. I had already changed and was waiting for them in my room. I had expected this, much to my distaste. I just want no drama, being alive is already too much for me.
I scanned the the ladies' faces. All pure shock and surprise.
Am alive bitch, and am not happy either.
"What happened?" my tone was not describable, because it was toneless. It didn't even sound like a question even to me.
"Look at her father! She is dressed! Maybe she just came back!" the face I recognised as Verbena's says pointingly. The face of the bland looking lady, Countess, nodded lightly, as if believing Verbena. The other face that was Sena wasn't that expressive but who was she fooling? Her father, Count Edgar looked confused in an irritated manner, as if he was disappointed that I-she was there.
Hello, dear family. Your girl was replaced and the one here doesn't want to be here.
If I agreed to marry Calix, would I be rid of this drama?
But marrying Calix would mean I'll have to live with his family, the same family that would hate me. I already know his mom doesn't approve.
"Why are you like this? Aren't you dressed as well?" I countered, taking in the dagger filled gaze from Verbena. She was cute, at least.
"Where were you last night?" that was Myrcella. I turned my gaze to her with a confused look.
"Where were you last night?" I asked. I then turned to father who had nothing to say at the moment. "Father-"
"Were you in your room last night, Astoria?" that was Sena who acted collected. She interrupted my words.
My gaze was descending when I looked at her. Just because she was educated, she had always thought she was a sophisticated lady. What sophisticated lady kidnaps her little sister and drowns her, and then try to taint her image later on?
"Do you expect me to be swimming in the lake or what?" I ask purposely. Her eyes widen a bit, as she turns to look at father who was looking at me intently. I would have really wanted to scoff.
Everyone who transmigrated in books and movies had transmigrated as princesses or rich people, but I am here, stuck in a eighteen year old body with no life.
"Father, what is this?" I question him directly before I could be interrupted.
I was taking in his venomous glare. I could see he wanted me gone. I raise an eyebrow at him when he doesn't answer, only staring at me like I was some demon to be gotten rid of. Please, be my guest. You'll be doing is both a favor.
"You were not in your room last night," he says firmly, as if I was to listen to him and agree. I guess it worked in the past. But now I wasn't Astoria only, I was also Hollie, a little stubborn bitch from another life who didn't wish to live.
I even felt burdensome since I had to handle two souls at once. I had two layers of memories, and they both felt too real.
I felt burdensome that I had to live someone's life. I don't want suck a responsibility.
I felt burdensome that my new life is full of drama and hate. It is too much.
I also had to deal with her hate and my hate. Did I forget to mention I feel what she felt around this family? Like how I just felt intimidated by this man before me. Her feelings was raw in my veins, mixed with mine.
Everything is so real it's making me go crazy beyond measure. I just want to peace now that I have been forced to live.
"Am sorry, but did all of you just sit around and decide I was not in my room?" I ask with a small laugh as I shook my head. I then turned my gaze to Verbena. "Sister, are you that sure?"
She looked flustered, she didn't expect me to call her out. "You were not!" she says quickly. So defensive.
"What does father want to do with me?" I ask, turning my attention back to the growling street dog of a dad that was infront of me.
"Is that disrespect I hear in your tone?" he asked instead. He was clearly looking for things to put blame on me. How cute of him. And yes, I was mocking him. He doesn't deserve a child.
"Is rushing into my room without a knock respect?"
Gasps. The next thing I know, father was slapping me right across the face. To be clear, I didn't duck nor stop him. The slap was really loud, making me stars for a second there. My head faced to my side because of the force. I brought my hand to my slapped cheek cried out the yell mentally. Wow, his slaps was more fierce.
But it wasn't the same as the one I was given right before I stabbed myself in my Hollie skin.
"You must be feeling weak, father. I almost felt as if your slap right now wasn't the same as the past ones. Do you need to rest?" I wasn't even trying to sound pretentious. Might as well as put everything out.
Another slap landed on my other cheek. I felt a fishy taste in my mouth.. Don't tell me my lips were bleeding.
"It is still lacking," I deadpan, even though my head was splitting at this point. "You really should rest now."
