Chapter 2 Auxiliary: General Explanation of the magic system
Once everyone arrives at their seats, the magic teacher starts to explain the magic system of the world.
He said that there are tiers for magic. Tiers that the world put in place for an organized system to know the potency and the power of magic. There is also mana, how much power that someone have within them or an object, it is used to determine the amount of power needed to use a spell or maintenance. Tiers are also used to determine how much mana the magic uses, but some high-tier magic doesn't require tons of mana but has high potency. So, the tiers determine the potency of the magic or spell. Said tiers are also used on magic items to determine their potency/magic output.
G or none is a tier that doesn't use magic, has no magical properties or magical output. It is bound to the logical system of the world and not the magical system of the world. It follows the basic rules and fundamental rules of the universe.
F is a basic tier for magic. This type of magic can be seen in daily life to increase the quality of life. We also infused some everyday items with this magic like the automatic door openers, increasing durability of objects or the hoverboard. These magic and their items require almost no maintenance and sometimes can survive without any maintenance and only require the atmosphere that contains magical particles. These types of magic are pretty safe to use. Examples of spells are like; illumination (summon light), blow (move a gust of wind in any direction), and colourize (Changing how the light is perceived by reflecting the object so it changes colours)
E is the beginner type of magic that beginners use. Some of the magic in this category can be offensive and dangerous but generally less potent than the higher tiers. This magic is used by beginners of magic and its use in public is restricted by the government. Some of the magic are used to increase the quality of living. Objects with this type of magic are sometimes restricted but can be seen like; water dispensers, automatic fireplaces, and healing bandages. Examples of spells are like; Firelight (Summon fire), Fireball (creates a ball of fire that explodes when hit), light heal (Heal light injuries like scratches, small wounds, or symptoms of disease)
D is the intermediate type of magic that more experienced users use. This magic is pretty potent and is heavily restricted by the government to be used in public, some of these spells can maybe even destroy entire cities. D spell objects are rarely seen since they are pretty potent and dangerous, some of these objects are; high-voltage electricity generation generators, automatic plantation grower spray (which immediately grows the plant to adulthood), and Homing missiles. Examples of these spells are; terraform (Moves the earth and has complete control over minerals in a certain range), Hellfire (Summons an immense wave of fire that can burn down an entire city), Full Heal (A cure for any disease and severe injury)
C is the advanced type of magic that magic professionals use. This magic is so potent that it requires government approval to use. C magic objects are heavily monitored since they have the power to destroy entire countries if fully released. Objects fused with this magic are generally used by the military since they are that potent. Some of these objects may include; The Germanian Gustavic cannon (A Germanian wonder weapon, it is a giant artillery gun that has the power to annihilate any city on the planet and release hellish flames across neighbouring lands), City of Alantia (A rumoured ancient city on the ocean that is powered by a C level crystal), and Fugika (A supercomputer that can calculate 1 day of human brain activity, a thousand times in a second). Few of the magic spells known in this category are; Catastrophe Beam (A beam that release 50 GigaTons of TNT per beam that last for 10 seconds), complete recovery (A spell that completely recovers the target to peak strength and increase its stats temporary, no matter what injury if the target isn't dead, it will recover)
B is the type of magic that is spoken in legends. A few people are able to use this magic and most of the spells require an unbelievable of mana that it feels impossible to get the require mana. Only a few people in the world know how to use the spelling but can't since it requires a lot of mana. Magic this high can destroy entire continents or planets like mercury. No object is known to possess. such power except for great crystals. One of the spells that are widely known in this category is the resurrection (The ability to resurrect someone living and recreate their body in peak condition, it have the ability to revert someone's biological age)
A is almost classed as mythical by our standards or godly. It have the potency to destroy planets with ease and heavily damage the solar system. If someone is capable to use said magic, then said person would be classified as a god amongst men. No known spells, even with the advanced knowledge of the school, the school can't find any findings of a spell at this power. The only thing that possesses such power is a bronze crystal, it is theorized there is one at the center of the earth that allowed the creation of life on this planet and the maintenance of magic particles in the atmosphere.
There are some theories that say that there is magic beyond this, but it is not proven yet.
Each letter tier of magic have a scale from 1 to 5. The scale represents the ease of mastery of the spell which also correlates to the potency of the spell. 5 is the easiest and 1 is the hardest in a category.
The general time it takes to master each scale and letter category follows:
letter category:
G = 0
F = 1 week
E = 2 weeks
D = 3 months
C = 1 to 3 years
B = Unknown, One of the known people who learned a B-class spell was the legend of Smith Wigglesworth, who is known to resurrect kids, it is said it took him 20 years to learn and master the spell.
A = Unknown, it is theorized that Jesus Christ is an A-class spellcaster that was blessed by the Gods
Scale:
1 = [letter category] * 5
2 = [letter category] * 4
3 = [letter category] * 3
4 = [letter category] * 2
5 = [letter category]
As the class starts to get bored, Yuto starts sleeping. The magic teacher, realizing he is sleeping, gifted him a bit of mana that made him wake up, Yuto was surprised and asked what happened. The teacher then explained that mana is a form of energy in this world, the reason you woke up so quickly was that you have received a sudden surge of gain in mana that you are not used to. Mana can also be used to supplement energy, but it is recommended not to since it uses a lot of mana. One way to gain mana is to have a surplus of energy in the body, if the body have a surplus of resources and your mana isn't full then the energy that could have gone into fat or waste would turn into mana. Another way is to be gifted as I did now to you, and another is from a magical object or consuming mana from somewhere else.
Each person also have a mana limit once they're born, we can see how much mana you have and the limit by using the Manascope (An invention that can calculate the amount of mana a person has by contacting the person through their body the scan and displaying the output on the screen, it uses mana and electricity to operate. It is more accurate when it done by blood or full body scan). You can increase the mana limit that you were born with bypassing the limit temporarily using magic or an object, training hard to pass the limit that is called "Manaing" or ask a blessing from the gods and hope.
