Chapter 4 - Class Assignment

As soon as they received the "Nano-bio Scanner", they began to use it for their status and which division they would be in.

"The scan process begins!" The headmaster instructed them together.

Quickly, they started the scan process according to the instructions. The hologram screens one by one came out quickly, revealing their respective statuses. In a matter of seconds, the hall looked like a sea of holograms.

"Look I belong to the Energy Lancer," Rio said.

Kai was looking at everyone nearby him, some of them were in Nanite Sentinels, Holographic Illusionists, and Drone Commanders. He decided to do the scanner process, hoping that he could belong to any division that could suit his style and mindset.

"What?" Rio asked.

"Look, my status lied to me," Kai said. "I never knew my status was like this."

Rio saw his status and was shocked by what he saw. He could not believe that Kai's status was above his, sure Rio knew Kai went to the gym, played a couple of sports, and was smart, but never expected like this.

He took Kai's device and looked at it once again, he disbelieved it. Once again, he scratched his eyes quickly and looked at the hologram screen again. This time, he accepted the status but was skeptical about it.

"Dude, are you cheating or something?" Rio tried to make sure with it.

"Do I look like someone who's cheating to get something?" Kai responded to him with a question too.

"Sheesh Kai!" Rio couldn't believe it. "What did you do all this time without me?"

"Come on," Kai said. "Even I don't believe with it."

"Everyone already sees their status," Mr. Draven's voice could be heard in the entire hall. "Now, proceed to the perspective seat for the division."

Everyone went to the perspective seat.

As they went to sit according to the class division, Kai went to the last section of the seat. Along the way to the seat, he crossed paths with a girl that caught his eye for a few seconds.

Her ethereal beauty was like a breath of fresh air, a serendipitous encounter that seemed to momentarily suspend time itself.

With brown hair cascading in elegant waves down her shoulders, she moved with a grace that whispered of both confidence and mystery. Her almond-shaped eyes, a mesmerizing shade of deep emerald, held a spark of curiosity that seemed to peer into the very soul of those she encountered. As her gaze met Kai's, there was a fleeting connection – an unspoken acknowledgment that they were two souls momentarily intertwined in the vast tapestry of the academy's halls.

Her attire, a harmonious blend of futuristic elegance and practicality, hugged her lithe frame, accentuating her every movement. A sleek, form-fitting uniform bore subtle patterns that seemed to shift like reflections on water, hinting at her enigmatic persona. A small pendant adorned her neck, glinting with a faint luminescence that mirrored the sparkle in her eyes.

In that fleeting moment, as their paths converged and diverged, Kai couldn't help but feel a sense of intrigue – a longing to uncover the secrets and depths that lay beneath the surface of this captivating girl who had briefly crossed his path.

"Someone's catching your eyes eh?" Rio said that before going a separate way with Kai. "Good luck with your division Kai, we will see each other after this."

"Likewise, Rio." Kai smiled at him. "See you after this is done."

As Kai and Rio went to their class division's seat, he told Kai something.

"Hey Kai," Rio called him.

Kai was looking back at him and gave him a question-mark expression. He raised his both brows initialing the word "what" on his face.

"I am happy for you man," Rio said. "Keep it up."

Kai couldn't help but smile thinking how great his life was to meet with Rio.

"Same here buddy," Kai responded. "I am happy and proud for you."

When he arrived at his class seat, he looked around oddly. Nobody was there except him.

"Wait why no one is here?" Kai was a bit shocked.

All the mentor was shocked from their thrones, they were looking at each other, thinking that it must be a mistake. Draven Mahendra showed a little smile of excitement that finally someone capable of being a Chronostrider after a long time.

"Wait, this can't be..." Selene reacted to it.

"Hmmmm..." Zachary mumbled. "After all this time, someone will be in Chronostride."

"I think it must be a mistake," Ms. Selene said.

"Are you doubting on the device?" Draven Questioned Selene. "We did not have any history of mistakes with this device."

"I supposed you, right headmaster," Kevin said. "Never before we produced the soldier with some error with the 'Nano-bio Scanner'."

"Nano Scanner technology never missed," Kaine said.

"This is going to be interesting," Draven said.

Nyx carefully stared at Kai from her throne, mysteriously judging the appearance of Kai secretly.

On the other side, Kai felt the sudden sadness as he thought that he would be the lowest talent for the academy. He had no choice but to accept this faith. He decided to sit in the first row of the Chronostrider class division.

All the students noticed Kai was talking about him being alone, and Rio was wondering why only Kai was in Chronostrider. He planned to cheer him up after the class, he thought that it must be embarrassing for him to be alone there.

"All of you already know your mentor and classmate, from now on you need to treat your fellow division classmates like a family. Also, all of you will be helping each other. It does not matter which division are you in, this is a big family for you now." Draven commanded them. "To all of you, the board members congratulate you as all of you are officially the Jakarta Legion Academy's students!"

All the mentors stood up and clapped their hands giving a sign of respect for their hard work in passing the examination and class division entry.

"Bring your things to your perspective room that are already assigned by the program according to your divisions." Daven continued. "With this, the ceremony dismissed."

Everyone stood up and gave a salute to all the mentors.
