[OLD MANSION OF KNIGHT FAMILY]
Ethan entered the dimly lit room, where the faint scent of old books and antiseptic spread in the air.
His grandfather lay propped up in the bed, frail and pale, his eyes still possessing a glimmer of the strength that had defined him for decades, lion. A sleeping lion resting in grass but can bear its fangs when needed.
"Ethan," his grandfather rasped, his voice barely a whisper but vibrating in the silent room. "Come closer."
Ethan approached the bedside, his heart heavy with the weight of the new his grandfather's doctor just gave him.
He told him to be prepared. He knew exactly what was expected.
His grandfather's dominating voice pulled him out of his thoughts and made him set his eyes on the only person on earth he shared blood with and his family in true sense.
Because every other member of the family disappointed him in beyond words.
