The reunion of Noah and Jane was a pleasant surprise to everyone, especially for Martha Alton. She had never thought that her son would be able to accomplish such a huge achievement in just a few days.
But not everyone was happy with this pleasant surprise.
Sarah looked at the gossiping servants and their excited happy faces. Their faces were full of expectation for the new beautiful future the couple had ahead of them.
But Sarah was unable to join them. Because her heart ached for a man who had known only by his side and had only loved Jane. He had made choices for her, for himself, only to be left alone once again.
