"What?!" Kate exclaimed in surprise when Ethan told her that he had seen his long-lost wife.
"Yes, Kate, I saw my wife and child and I'm not mistaken," Ethan said happily.
Kate was filled with a mix of emotions at that moment. She had been repeatedly given false hope and hurt by Ethan, so this time, her heart was numb to further pain.
"If it's true that they are the ones, I'm happy for you, Ethan," Kate said gently.
But Ethan's expression changed upon hearing her words.
"I'm sorry, Kate," he replied.
"Sure, Ethan, see you at the office," she said before turning away from the man.
While in the taxi, she couldn't hold back her tears. These were tears of liberation from a heart that had long held onto hope.Perhaps this was truly the time for her to move on from her love for Ethan.
Upon arriving home, she was greeted by her adorable niece and nephew.
