Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 - Overhead (4)

In a restaurant, Isaac was having a good time with his parents; his mother is a wonderful lawyer, and his father is a city policeman. They were his role models in life, and he always looked up to them as kind of heroes. Isaac spoke excitedly.

"Mother, Mother! I heard that you have acquitted a wronged person that no one could save."

He looks with bright eyes at his mother, who smiles.

"That's right, my sweetheart."

"Wow, that's great when you make me come with you!"

The father interjected at that moment, "Yo-Yo, hey Isaac. Firstly, this is difficult given how serious her work is. Your mother needs to be fully focused, and you know how silly and simple she becomes around you. It will lose all its prestige. Secondly, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, lawyers aren't really the most likable people out there." Before people, even I would be afraid if people knew that you are the son of a lawyer."

Mother and Isaac both spoke at the same time.

Why do people hate lawyers?

"Excuse me? Who is silly?"

The father looked shocked at his wife and son before laughing out loud.

In the distance, there was a person sitting on a lonely seat. His hair was short and black, his eyes were sky-blue, and his features were still those of a teenager, but his deep gaze was showing more than any teenager might show.

Looking at the happy family in front of him, Jack was feeling very nostalgic and was slowly remembering some things.

"Right," Jack whispered.

In the next moment, the scene changed to the city's police headquarters.

The father was talking to some other officers about something, and their faces were serious.

Jack was standing among them, but no one saw him as if he didn't exist; he was meditating on the figure of the father.

He has brown eyes and gray hair, which makes him look big, but he doesn't have any wrinkles on his long, skinny face. His complexion is bronze. He's a little short in stature, but he has some prominent muscles. Why was Jack staring at him?

He didn't really know, but there was that strange feeling in his heart.

The father was tied to a wooden chair above him with a weak lamp light while darkness covered the rest of the place, and his mouth was a piece of cloth soaked with blood and sweat falling from his face, which had become in a state of chaos, and his lips were moving as if he were talking to himself.

Jack was standing opposite the father, looking at him in confusion, trying to lower his head to him to hear what he was guiding, but at that moment a voice came from behind Jack that made him feel cold along his spine and made his hair stand up.

This was not a result of fear, because Jack had forgotten that feeling from a long time ago, but it was a result of surprise, anger, and sadness, in addition to another feeling that Jack did not understand at first, but he quickly remembered: it was the same feeling that he had when he saw Asher's shattered figure. It is helplessness.

The father fearfully raised his head forward as Jack turned behind him at the same moment. Both of them were looking at the same person with different expressions.

Someone who stepped out from the darkness had blood-red hair, strangely black eyes, a broad and rugged face with a forehead full of scars and scratches, and was a terrifying person, tall and with a body as strong as a wrestler.

At that moment, the eyes of the father and Jack were focused together on the same person, and at that moment, when they saw the demonic smile of that stranger, Jack remembered something that made him retreat in disbelief until he penetrated the father and became in the same location.

The horror that Father displayed below and the indignation that Jack displayed above were like a picture of perfect contrast.

At that moment, Jack finally knew who he was.

"It was you," Jack whispered in anger, and he tried to move, but when he did, he felt that painful headache tearing his head and his soul. Jack held his head in pain and began to breathe violently for a few moments before slowly calming himself and opening his eyes to find that he had returned to reality.

He was still kneeling in front of Usher's desk without any movement, as if all that vision had come in one second.

Jack grabbed his jaw and remembered and digested everything he remembered, despite it being incomplete.

"It was me; I'm a policeman; my wife is a lawyer; and we have an only son named Isaac... I had to carry out a mission, but that person was very dangerous, and... ugh, I was tortured, I think, but... what happened next?" The pain intensified for Jack when he tried to remember more until he gave up, but he was realizing that there was still more about these events, about what was supposed to be his first life before moving on, life zero.

Suddenly Jack felt warm around his right arm. He looked at him and lifted his shirt slightly to find that the tattoo had expanded more until it covered his right arm and half of his back and chest from the right side. This time there were random shapes of lines, circles, and triangles with the basic shapes remaining, like the mist and the shape of the face of Jack's body.

Although it had become clear that the tattoo had a direct connection with the regime and with Jack himself, instead of the usual enthusiasm, Jack felt an emptiness inside him.

In the next moment, he heard a voice in front of him and saw a figure of Usher coming out from his desk, and he put his fingers on his mouth to form a fake smile. He was still looking down and didn't pay attention to Jack, but when he looked forward, he almost jumped from his place and then quickly put his hands down.

"Ah, Jack son, you're, um, early today. Haha, that's, ahem, ahhh..." Asher was embarrassedly looking away from Jack at first, but when he looked at his son's condition, his eyes brightened. Then he sat down on one knee and patted Jack on the back, saying in a worried voice,

"Jack, is there anything wrong?"

Jack raised his head and looked into Asher's deep brown eyes. He knew that he wasn't acting himself, so he quickly stood up and smiled sillyly, then said in an excited tone, "I?

"Oh, so you saw it..."

"So? "

Asher sighed, "It's okay, son, it's nothing. A lot of people have overcome this. I might be one of them. But the most important thing now is that you keep this secret from your mother and sister. I want to tell them myself."

"As you wish, but hey, don't carry all that weight alone; if you want to talk, I'm here."

Usher was surprised by his son's words: "Wow, I feel like I am the child now. Good job, Anna. You have made my son grow up more."

Jack could see through Usher's sparkling words; he was seeing his former self in him.

Follow Usher

Well, son, I think putting two broken people together is the best medicine."

"You're broken, not me."

"Behold, say that to the dust that gives your ass."
