Chapter 22 - Chapter 21

Maha, I'm sorry; I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just upset at that moment. You know, I suddenly found out that you're married, and that caught me off guard.

"Why couldn't you accept the fact that I might be married?" Maha questioned.

"I didn't mean that I couldn't accept it, but it was just a shock for me," Aban explained. "I deeply apologize for my behavior. Please don't be upset anymore."

"I'm fine now, Aban. Just remember that if you ever talk to me in that tone again, I won't tolerate it," Maha added firmly.

"I understand, babe. Let's just have some ice cream now," Aban suggested.

"Okay, I'll have two scoops," Maha replied.

"Sounds good. I'll have two as well," Aban agreed.

"By the way Aban, when did you arrive? You hadn't mentioned it."

"I arrived quite suddenly, like a whirlwind. I have been assigned a project at the company for a year, and I'll be staying in Pakistan. It's now my responsibility to train the interns here. That's why I'll be here for a year."

"Well, that's good to know," Maha added.

"Alright, Maha, now tell me honestly. You're in danger here, and anything could happen at any time. Do you want to go back to your family or your husband?"

"No, Aban, absolutely not. I never want to return to that hell."

"Are you sure, Maha? Think about it; this decision might sever your ties with your family forever."

"It's alright; I've never really been a part of that family. My mother is no more, and my brothers are all busy with their own families. Nobody ever asked about their little sister. As for my father, he only cares about his name and reputation, not mine. There's no one there for me."Maha said

"Okay, Maha, that's fine. Now tell me, do you want to seek a divorce from your husband?"

Aban, "Is that even possible? But he is very influential, combined with my father, they can do anything."

"Look, Maha, if you want a divorce, leave the rest to me. I'll file a case in court. You can take your freedom, it's that simple."

"But Aban, this could put your life in danger. You don't know how dangerous these people are; they don't hesitate to resort to violence."Maha added

"Please, Maha, I'm no child. I can handle anything that comes my way. I'll find a good lawyer, and we'll file the case properly. Don't worry, I'll see it through."

Maha gazed into Aban's eyes, her voice tender yet resolute, "Aban, let me make something clear – I can't love you in that way, and neither can we be together after a divorce, so please don't expect anything in return."

Aban held her gaze with unwavering sincerity, his eyes reflecting the depth of his feelings, "Maha, I don't need your love to complete me. My love for you exists independently, like the stars in the night sky, shining brightly even when the world is asleep. It's not about possession or expectation; it's about sharing this immense, boundless affection I hold for you. Your happiness means the world to me, and if that means you find it in someone else's embrace, I will celebrate it with all my heart."

Maha felt the warmth of Aban's words enveloping her, his love painting a beautiful picture of selflessness and devotion. In that moment, she realized that Aban's love transcended ordinary boundaries. It was a love that cherished her as she was, without conditions or demands.

As the moonlight cast a soft glow upon their conversation, Aban's heartfelt declaration resonated in the night air, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Maha couldn't help but be moved by the depth of Aban's love, a love that was willing to let her go, simply to see her happiness flourish.
