Before I knew it, I was conscious that this was not my first life, and that this world is in fact, inside of a novel.
Rare light blue eyes the color of the sky, soft curly blonde hair, a soft and sunny personality, that was what the female main character of the novel, [ Do not Speak! ], was described as. It was hard to believe actually, that that person was now my twin sister smiling at me cheerfully as she drags me around to play with her.
"Brother! Let's go to the pond!"
I didn't say anything as I let myself be dragged around by her with a sorrowful smile on my face. Her name, was Evangeline Vas Te Flowelyn, currently five years old and full of energy, very kind and extroverted. Unlike me of course, her twin brother, Eleonorr Vei Estes Flowelyn, compared to her, I was described as introverted, quiet and more mature.
We have three older brothers, both our parents and all of the Vicount's territory and people to dote on her, I mean who wouldn't? She was the definition of an angel. While I was..... let's say a bit neglected. Yes, neglected.
As the only daughter of the Vicount and the first girl to ever be born into the Flowelyn family in a hundred years, she was bound to be loved by all. While I, was seen as just an extra that came along. When people look at me, they often frown since not only was I not as lovely as my sister, I was different from everyone else in my family.
Except for my mother, everyone had blonde hair and blue or green eyes that were the prominent trait of the Flowelyn name. I had strawberry-blonde hair that was inherited from my mother, and brown eyes that was inherited from my grandmother, because of these, people were a bit sceptical whether I truly was a Flowelyn, but since I looked so much like my father, it was confirmed and my mother hated me for making people doubt her loyalty to my father.
And due to some future circumstances, I am now forced to live as a girl now.
"Sister, you should call me by that now."
I said as I tried not to stumble on the flowery dress I was dressed in this morning.
Evangeline turned to me confused and tilted her head.
"Why should I call you that? You're my brother! And you're a boy!"
"I know, but mother and father told me that I am now a girl."
"... I don't understand."
"Twins! Where are you?!"
I heared my eldest brother, Edgar Venti sol Flowelyn's, familliar voice and stiffened. He was looking for us so that can only mean one thing....
"Ah, there you are. Evangeline~."
Edgar popped out of the bushes and aproached Evangeline with a soft smile on his face.
Evangeline giggled and hugged Edgar's leg, looking up and calling to him.
"Eldest brother!"
Edgar pet her head and picked her up, turning to me and stating in a flat tone of voice almost sounding cold and cruel.
"Mother and father called for you."
"Okay..."
He turned away and started walking carrying Evangeline who was confused.
"Eldest brother, slow down Eleonorr won't be able to catch up to us."
"It's okay, he- she'll catch up."
I gripped the hem of my dress as I stood there watching them walk away. I bit the inside of my mouth as my mind reeled and I try to calm myself down as I keep telling myself that I already knew this was gonna happen and have exoected this.
After calming down, I started to slowly walk to the main hall as I recall the novel's contents.
[Cannon fodder], the term used for characters that are used as stepping stones for the plot to progress. They always end up dying or fell into misery so that it can give the main characters a little bit of trauma and determination, it was a sad fate. And since I was one, I knew that I will fall into it no matter how hard I try.
Eleonorr, a very female name, and my parents specifically made it like that so they can use me. By marrying me off to an old man that was needed by them and who was desperate to find someone to marry to take over his property and to keep his children in check.
Though fortunately, that old man would be too weak to make any moves on me and would die of illness way before I would mature, that didn't mean I would live a peaceful life. After his death, I would be the owner of everthing he left behind, so his children would do anything in their power to get rid of me. But they don't need to do that at all, since I would die because of an incurable disease, haha.
Yes, all I can do now is laugh, since I cannot escaoe this fate. Why? Haha, because my death, is the starting point of this goddamn novel. So no matter what I do, I can never change anything. Ha, the first words of that fucking novel was {On her brother's funeral...} so I truly cannot change anything.
I arrive at the door of the main hall and took a deep breath.
But that doesn't mean I would just stand and let it all happen, I don't want to be remembered by these people as {The Deceased Twin of Evangeline}. No, I want to be someone that they will think of even years after my death.
Since I can't run away from here anyway, how about I make myself memorable?
The servants opened the door and I entered and curtsied to my parents.
"I'm here mother, father."
"Eleonorr, you should know what will happen from now on, right?"
My father asked with a scowl on his face as he looked down at me.
"Yes. You told me to live as a girl and that I will study all classes that a noble girl, such as myself, are required to take."
My father nodded, "Yes, there's that and also-"
"Remember to take good care of your husband and the children that follows after him." My mother said sternly as she frowned looking at me, as if she didn't want me here.
"You shall take lessons that will whip you to shape to become, a Countess..." She breathed out the last two words as if she got what she had always wanted.
My father cleared his throath and said to me, "Although your.... future husband, would be old, you have to live and power through it."
I nodded, hiding the disgust I felt when he said "future husband".
'If only my "future husband" was the same age as me, I would have felt a bit of happiness.' I thought as I listened more of what my parents said which was all basically about me marrying and living as a woman and that this situation "couldn't be avoided" or was "inevitable" which were obviously all lies and they just wanted to use their "little useless extra" for their own gains.
After all that, I was then sent back to my room.
I closed the door and sighed heavily as I drop to the floor.
"..."
Silence filled the almost empty room that was devoid of any sign of warmth or life.
"...sniff..."
Tears welled up my eyes as I felt hopeless and overwhelmed by what was happening.
It was all too fast and noone even cared to wish me luck or look at me with pity, all they did was look as if they can finally use that thing they have always wished to throw out.
I hugged my knees as I sobbed, I wish someone would come and comfort me, but noone did, the only person who cared about me was too young and innocent to understand the situation I am in.
This was the sad reality of being reincarnated or transmigrated, in the end, you only have yourself and noone.
