Chapter 30 - Fuck me!

As creepy laughter echoed in the room, a loud roar shook everything. A huge minotaur appeared from the dark shadows, its gigantic body surrounded by darkness, and its eyes glowing with a spooky evil.

This monstrous minotaur, standing tall and looking threatening, held a big, jagged axe in one hand. The axe's blade glowed with a cold, eerie light.

"Fuck me!" (Alex)

My big, creepy smile faded for the first time, and a feeling of worry replaced it. Cold sweat dripped down my forehead. I could feel the raw terror coming from my loyal servants, and their faces showed helplessness.

Facing this new, huge enemy, we weren't the ones doing the chasing anymore; now, we were the ones being chased, and the deep abyss seemed to go on forever.

The minotaur's arrival made me shiver, but I knew I had to get back my calm. With a quick, clear nod, I looked at my helpers, and said,

"Retreat! This is not a battle we can win here. We need to find another way," I commanded, urgency in my voice.

Daniel, Mia, Thomas, and Elizabeth nodded in agreement. There was no time for hesitation. We had faced the Abyssal Maw and survived; this minotaur was a different level of monster.

As we prepared to escape, I rushed to my unconscious wife, Lisa, who lay on the chamber floor. Gently, I lifted her into my arms, her body limp and vulnerable. She was my utmost priority, and her safety was paramount.

With Lisa cradled in my arms, we made a frantic dash for the exit. The minotaur, a towering nightmare in pursuit, shouted, "Stop running, fools! There's no escape from the Death!"

I ignored its ominous threats, perseverance burning in my eyes.

The minotaur's voice was like a creepy melody of darkness, but I wouldn't let it stop us. We already dealt with the Abyssal Maw and came out okay; we can handle this new danger.

"Keep moving! Don't look back!" I yelled to my companions, urging them forward.

As we fled deeper into the abyss, the minotaur's heavy footsteps echoed behind us, its malevolent laughter reverberating through the chamber. It was relentless, and its taunts grew more sinister.

"You cannot escape your fate! The Death is your only destination," the minotaur bellowed, its voice like a nightmarish echo.

Desperation fueled our movements as we sprinted through the labyrinthine passageways of the abyss. The ground quaked beneath the minotaur's pursuit, and its sinister laughter echoed behind us.

As we turned a corner, we stumbled upon a massive door adorned with ominous symbols. I cast a wild, psychopathic grin towards my servants. "It seems the Goddess of Luck has offered us a choice, my companions. Embrace the choice or perish."

Mia, her eyes glowing with a manic fervour, replied, "Luck is our ally, My lord. Let's see what awaits us."

With a nod from Daniel and determined expressions from Thomas and Elizabeth, we pushed open the foreboding door.

As the door creaked open, we stepped into the room and immediately closed the door, ready for whatever the labyrinth had in store for us. However, the scene before us was both surprising and unsettling.

The once formidable chamber that had housed the menacing golem now lay empty and exposed. The intricate, intimidating mechanisms and traps were gone, replaced by an eerie silence. The golem's remains were sprawled on the ground, lifeless and dismantled.

I exchanged bewildered glances with my faithful servants. Elizabeth was the first to break the silence. "This... This isn't what I expected. It's as if the labyrinth has stripped away its defences."

Daniel chimed in, "Maybe the labyrinth wants to test us differently this time, with the memories of our past victory as our only guide."

Mia nodded, her eyes fixed on the golem's remnants. "My lord, It's a reminder that we've grown stronger since our first trial. We can overcome any challenge the abyss throws at us."

I gently lowered Lisa to the ground, her unconscious form a testament to the dangers we faced.

Taking charge, I turned to my servants and spoke with a calm decision in my cold voice. "Rest, my faithful companions. Heal yourselves with the potions we have. We don't know what challenges lie ahead, and we must be at our best. Give me the highest quality healing potion."

Mia, Elizabeth, Daniel, and Thomas reached into their packs and handed me the desired potion, their eyes reflecting a mix of trust and concern. In return, they each took their healing elixirs and began the process of recovery.

Turning to Lisa, who remained unconscious and vulnerable, I knelt by her side, my psychopathic mask momentarily set aside.

Gently, I cradled her head, allowing her to rest in my lap. Her chest rose and fell with each shallow breath, her condition precarious.

I unscrewed the cap of the healing potion and, with a careful touch, tilted it to her lips. The elixir, a shimmering, ethereal blue, trickled into her mouth. I watched as it worked its magic, slowly restoring colour to her ashen face.

While Lisa rested, I turned to others, who had just finished taking their healing elixirs. Their vitality had been partially restored.

I spoke with authority, "We will camp here. Daniel, Mia, Thomas, and Elizabeth, arrange everything within 50 feet of this spot. I will be doing something important so nobody will disturb or come near me until I ask so."

As my servants set up camp, I stepped away to a secluded spot. I shouted in my mind 'Status' and activated my system's virtual screen, its holographic interface illuminating the dim surroundings.

(System's Notifications:- 2)

I was taken aback by the unexpected notifications option that appeared before me. My curiosity piqued, I quickly tapped on the notifications to see what they were about.

The first notification read, "Congratulations to the host for completing the Requirements for system upgradation:-

1) Have sex with 3 Girls- Completed.

2) Kill 3 Mythical Monsters- Completed. "

My heart raced as I tried to comprehend the significance of this message. What did it mean?

The second notification was even more intriguing. It asked, "Will the host like to upgrade the system 'Accept or Reject'?"

I hesitated for a moment, considering the implications of this decision. Upgrading the system could potentially grant me new powers, knowledge, or abilities that might prove invaluable in the labyrinth. However, it also carried risks and uncertainties.

After a brief internal debate, I made up my mind. With a determined look in my eyes, I selected "Accept."

As I selected "Accept," a new system notification appeared, accompanied by a digital countdown that began to tick down from ten seconds.

The notification read, "System Upgrade Initiated. System will upgrade in 10 seconds."

A mix of anticipation and curiosity surged within me. What changes would this upgrade bring? The digital numbers on the countdown steadily decreased, and I braced myself for the unknown enhancements that awaited.

Time seemed to slow as I watched the seconds tick away, my emotions a whirlwind of excitement and uncertainty. And suddenly...

"Congratulations to the host, the Devil System has successfully evolved into a Versatile System."
