Chapter 32 - My words are final!

I couldn't contain my curiosity any longer and pressed the issue. "But why my wife? Why is she the one to explain this to me?"

The system, however, remained silent, offering no further explanation. I could sense that it held a secret, one that I might not fully comprehend at this moment.

Frustration welled up within me, and I couldn't help but shout in my mind, "Why?"

Yet, once again, the system remained silent, refusing to divulge its secrets. I realized that pressing further wouldn't yield any answers, and with my wife soundly sleeping now, it seemed more practical to await her response when the time was right.

With a mixture of excitement and uncertainty, I left the "Ancient Store" and returned to the main screen. I decided to close the virtual screen for the time being.

I took a deep breath and began to ponder my next move. It occurred to me that if I wanted to acquire the skills and items I desired from the shops, I needed to accumulate Exp points. And the most direct way to do that was by hunting monsters.

A freshly acquired excitement welled up within me as I thought about the skills I had always dreamed of having, the ones that were out of reach in my previous world.

I knew it was time to step out into this fantastical realm, face the challenges that lay ahead, and earn the EXP points necessary to unlock those coveted abilities.

I decided to gather my servants who had been diligently preparing the camp. Mia, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Daniel were setting up tents and organizing supplies. I approached them, my determination clear on my face.

"Everyone," I began, "I've decided to train and kill some monsters outside."

Mia exchanged worried glances with the others. Elizabeth, with whom I had sex just some hours ago, stepped forward, her voice filled with concern. "But, My lord, we just faced a tough battle not long ago. Are you sure it's wise to go out now?"

Thomas, the steadfast and stoic member of our group, nodded in agreement. "King, It's dangerous out there. Maybe we should wait for a while until you're fully prepared."

Daniel chimed in, "Thomas is absolutely right, my lord you should take some rest first then you should go for the hunt."

'Fuck! At this rate, they will not let me go, what should I do? Just what should I do to let them leave me?...Yes! I can do that.' (Alex)

With a cold, calculated smile, I stared into each of their eyes and uttered, "Don't fret. Take good care of Lisa. Your concern is touching, but I've made my decision."

"But-" (Mia)

"My words are final! " (Alex)

Daniel nodded, still concerned but willing to support my decision. "Very well, King. We'll do our best to keep Lady Lisa safe."

I walked out of the first trial room, ready to face the challenges of unknown monsters to gain the skills I desired.

As I ventured about a kilometre from our campsite, my heart raced when I stumbled upon a profound sight.

The mad Minotaur that had chased our group just minutes before lay soundly asleep, its powerful form sprawled across a grassy knoll. It clutched a massive axe, a weapon of mass destruction.

As I cautiously observed the slumbering Minotaur, a sudden sound rang in my mind, jolting me from my thoughts. A virtual screen materialized before me, displaying a quest:

**Reward Quest:** Escape from the Destruction

**Quest Objective:** Taunt and Escape from the Minotaur

**Rewards:** 100 Exp

**Penalty:** No Penalty

**Time Limit:**Infinite

'Nice timing.' (Alex)

I steeled myself, recognizing an opportunity to gain valuable EXP points, and quietly approached the colossal beast with a plan forming in my mind.

With the quest clear in my mind, I carefully approached the sleeping Minotaur. My heart pounded loudly in my chest as I knew that one wrong move could spell doom. I reached the knoll where the creature lay, and with a deep breath, I reached out and gave the beast a sharp poke.

The Minotaur's eyes snapped open, revealing fiery anger within. It roared in fury, shaking the ground beneath me. "You puny Demon, you dare to come back! I'll crush you into dust for waking me from my slumber!"

I stood my ground, undaunted. "Is that the best you've got, you oversized bull? You couldn't catch a mouse with those hooves."

The Minotaur's nostrils flared as it swung its massive axe in a threatening manner. "You will regret those words, Demon."

I continued to taunt, a smirk playing on my lips. "Come on, show me what you've got, if you can catch me, that is."

With a deafening bellow, the Minotaur charged towards me, but I was already sprinting away, luring the beast into a game of cat and mouse. We raced through the Labrinth, my agile steps leading it on a wild chase.

The Minotaur's frustration grew with each taunt I threw its way. "You can't run forever, little Demon!"

I chuckled, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, but it's so much fun watching you try!".

As the game of taunts and chase continued, the Minotaur's fury was now reaching its peak. I darted through the labyrinth's winding passages, the loud footsteps of the Minotaur we're close behind, the sound of its feet echoing off the stone walls.

"You lumbering oaf, I've seen snails move faster than you!" (Alex)

With every insult I hurled, its mad rage intensified, causing the labyrinth to tremble.

"I'll crush you to pulp, insolent pest!" (Minotaur)

"Your axe is bigger than your brain, Minotaur!" (Alex)

The beast's massive axe swung perilously close to me with each passing moment, a looming threat that promised destruction.

"I'll carve your bones into a trophy!" (Minotaur)

"Is that all you can do, chase your own tail?" (Alex)

Each insult I delivered was accompanied by a mocking smirk, challenging the Minotaur's intelligence and skill.

"Your death will be slow and agonizing!" (Minotaur)

"Too slow for you, I'm sure!" (Alex)

I taunted it with words that cut deeper than any blade, questioning its ability to catch a "puny demon" and daring it to prove its strength.

"You should try ballet with those feet!" (Alex)

"I'll make you scream for mercy!" (Minotaur)

"We will see, who screams for mercy. (Alex)
