It was funny, how you could get what you wanted, only to realize you did not need it at all.
When their arrangement had begun, Nico had wanted to have a baby and then raise it on his own. He had seen no need for Gianna to be a part of the baby's life. Completely confident in his ability to provide for all of the baby's needs. Now that selfish wish had a very real chance of becoming a reality and Nico realized he did not need it at all.
He could hire the best nannies in the world. Send his daughter to the most prestigious schools and help her learn everything she needed to survive in this life, but it would not be enough. His little girl needed her mother. Nico needed his child's mother.
He needed Gianna there with him, the two of them watching their daughter grow, raising her together. But there was looking less and less likely with each passing hour.
