Chapter3:
"Unbelievable, what in the palace intrigue library is this?" Lorraine said, her jaw wide, Coraline's eyes were wide, her arms above her chest, her smile wide.
"This is… Amazing!" Coraline exclaimed while twirling to the second bookshelf to her right, all the while humming an inharmonious tune.
The library seemed to be never-ending, the bookshelves going up, their true heights unknown, as they appear to have merged at the possible center of the library.
The walls were some sort of white asymmetrical stone with gold in between each brick, there were gold columns near the beautifully carved door that the girls entered through, and on each side of the blue curtains covering certain sections of the wall.
The floor was white marble tiles, if the lobby of the hotel stank of rich this library reeks of royalty.
The numerous seemingly infinite bookshelves were fancy and tacky at the same time, they were made out of white stained wood, and their edges were gold.
The bottom of each bookshelf had been carved in the shape of lions with sapphires and rubies in their eyes as well as each shelf was gold plated and encrusted with diamonds.
"Corie I think the bling-bling blinded me," said Lorraine as she fell dramatically to the floor.
Coraline rolled her eyes at her friend's antics, and she smiled faintly, this was her friend's way to cope with stress and after all that happened today, this was expected.
Speaking of which, Coraline turned again to face the fantastical bookshelves, it was time for her to cope.
Coraline started to walk toward the possible center of the library randomly picking books with interesting titles along the way so when Lorraine opened her eyes to see her friend half a mile away she got up quickly but she still made sure to dramatically pose.
After a good long stroll, all the books Coraline picked out were handed to Lorraine at some point consequently Lorraine struggles as she balances the tower of books in her hands and attempts to not bump into Coraline.
Her head is barely even visible as she peeks around the book tower to avoid dropping the books that would bury her friend.
Suddenly, Coraline gasps, making Lorraine jump a little before regaining her balance, Coraline towards something that Lorraine can't see.
Lorraine curious as to what would garner such a reaction, Lorraine successfully put down the human-sized tower of books that she was cradling without destroying its remarkable shape.
Lorraine mimics her companion's reaction taking in the unexpected sight, they had reached the hopeful middle of the gigantic library meaning that it wasn't endless as they originally thought.
There were a large number of white carved wooden desks just like the bookshelves, the edges of the top of the desks were gold plated and extended out of the corners into snake heads with emeralds in their eyes.
The chairs however did not follow the trend of gold and gems, they were still white but with crème cushion seats and they had carvings of vines all over with the legs and top corners curling inwards into a swirl.
Coraline was looking around with stars in her eyes, Lorraine pulled out one of the chairs near her and slumped. She was dead tired after all that walking, running, and lifting this day treated her nice and rough.
Coraline wasn't paying attention to anything else but the desks, she was inspecting the desks so closely that she noticed that the desks so far were the same down to the slightest bumps.
All of a sudden Coraline bumped into something or more accurately someone, causing both of them to fall onto the ground with the books the person was holding flying out of their hands creating a huge mess.
"I'm so sorry!" exclaimed Coraline as she quickly got up and offered her hand to help the person up.
As soon as Coraline's eyes landed on this person, she was stunned, he was the definition of her type in men. His beautiful round youthful face aligns perfectly with her preferences.
His short neck-length pink hair complements his round face and brings out the natural soft features of his face his unique pink eyes captured Coraline's heart
The boy used Coraline's outstretched hand to get up, patting the dust out from his clothes, and muttered out thanks.
The boy fixed his hair before he spoke
"Normally I would have told you off for not paying attention to your surroundings but this time I'm to blame as well" he crossed his arms and sighed.
"I'm sorry, here let me help you pick your books up," Coraline said, picking up a book that conveniently landed on the desk closest to her.
The boy smiled and nodded, and in a matter of minutes the pair found and picked up an unbelievable amount of books. They both stood staring at the small tower in Infront of them.
"I may have gone overboard when choosing books." the boy said, ending his sentence with a nervous chuckle.
"I understand…hey, I never got your name. oh! I should probably introduce myself first. My name is Coraline."
"My name is Sean spelled S. E. A. N." the boy introduced himself.
"So can I ask what clues you have? or is it too soon?." he asked
"Woah! I'm personally okay sharing clues but I have to ask my teammate first." Coraline said, wildly flailing her arms in an X shape.
Sean looked entertained by Coraline's display so he nodded and followed her as Coraline made her way back to where she left Lorraine.
It took them a long time to reach Lorraine, Coraline had accidentally wandered off too far, and when they did they found Lorraine peaceful reading a book one that Coraline is sure she didn't pick out.
"Lorie whatcha reading there?" Coraline asked playfully.
Lorraine looked up and saw Sean, disinterested, Lorraine returned her gaze to her book.
"May you be as kind as to introduce me to your new friend?" she asks harshly.
"Oh right! Sean this is Lorraine, Lorraine this is Sean."Coraline introduced them.
Sparks flew between Lorraine and Sean, while Coraline stood behind them with an oblivious smile on her face, a rivalry at first sight was born.
