Chapter 4:
"So Sean, what is it that you want?" Lorraine said indifferently, her lips pulled in a slight smirk, eyes slightly slanted downwards, full of arrogance, she had brought her book closer to her face giving her this domineering aura.
However, Lorraine had underestimated her opponent, Sean's eyes quirk up, he put his hand near his smiling rosy lips, his arm supported by his other holding his waist, and he gave a low chuckle before he spoke.
"Oh, Lory, was it? I had asked if she wanted to ... team up, I didn't realize that she already had such a unique and reliable teammate. I still wish for us to temporarily help each other out if her highness allows it, of course."
His smirking face was full of sarcastic intention, his words didn't hide his true intentions, but instead, they revealed them for the whole to see.
At this offense, Lorraine's expression didn't change much she lowered her head slightly giving off a dangerous look, her eyes conveying her distaste in her heart she both cursed and praised Sean for his words.
To her a true opponent has appeared unbeknownst to her Sean wasn't truly planning anything, his intentions were pure.
Coraline, the bystander to a silent battle: ....(・_・;) Fierce!!!
In her heart she gave both of their performances a 10/10, the poses were amazing, and the line delivery was the best of the century.
Maybe when they get out of this damned hotel, Lorraine and Sean could be the leads of a cold-CEO drama.
Lorraine let out a cold sigh breaking eye contact with Sean, and before he got to mentally celebrate his victory, Lorraine spoke" I have to admit in this situation a trio is best, someone has to be at the back." her eyes heavily set on Sean"Oh, and don't call me Lory, it's Lorraine to you." she followed up, her tone oppressive.
Coraline: !!!!!∑(O_O;)!!!!! Such wonderful deliveries of cliché lines!! Too OP!!!!
Sean: ...(°-°╬) the audacity of this witch.
Lorraine: ......(@^◡^) the bestie position is safe once again, b####.
Sean took on another pose, attempting to salvage the situation, as well as his honor, to turn this battle around in his favor.
Sadly, the catfight ended abruptly as the peanut gallery had decided to go on stage and perform.
Coraline clapped happily before she spoke. "As nice as it is to see two bonding."
Her smile immediately fades, her expression now cold. "We should start brainstorming over the clues we have, I have a bad feeling that something big is going to happen if we continue playing around." her tonal change didn't surprise Lorraine, she was used to it.
On the other hand, Sean almost had whiplash by the sudden and extreme change in behavior
" So, Sean, can you please share with us the clues you found"
"S-sure umm I only got one, and it's cryptic as hell, so it might not be of help" he spoke, his tone soft as he was still recovering from the shock.
Lorraine looked at him disinterestedly, her hand on her chin, she was already used to her friend's sudden mood swings.
The clue that Sean took out of his pocket was a yellowed paper like theirs, written on it:
'𝖂𝖍𝖆𝖙 𝖉𝖊𝖘𝖕𝖆𝖎𝖗, 𝖆 𝖑𝖔𝖓𝖊𝖑𝖞 𝖓𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖆𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖍𝖔𝖚𝖘𝖊 𝖔𝖋 𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙𝖘,
𝖜𝖍𝖊𝖗𝖊 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖕𝖊𝖔𝖕𝖑𝖊 𝖉𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊 𝖆𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖍𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖊𝖘𝖙 𝖔𝖋 𝖍𝖊𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙𝖘,
𝖓𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖌𝖗𝖔𝖚𝖓𝖉𝖊𝖉 𝖙𝖎𝖑𝖑 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖊𝖓𝖉 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖓𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙.'
Coraline clasped her hands and revealed a dumbfounded expression, Lorraine's jaw went slack, her brows furrowed, her eyes widened, in sync, they both expressed their distaste for such an unartful, vague, poem with an eloquent string of curses
Coraline promptly revealed the clues they got to Sean.
Unfortunately, their clues seemingly had nothing to do with each other, and all had no leads on how to even start searching up anything about them.
"Like the clues we got, Sean's clues could be pointing towards a myriad of things, drugs or alcohol for example could bring you to the highest highs all night but also due to the supernatural nature of this world anything is possible," Coraline concluded.
The chances of the existence of a club or a bar in the hotel are high, It's safe to assume so since the outside area is most likely off-limits.
"Okay let's get a move on and explore the upper floors, we can't get anywhere sitting around, hey! maybe we will find someone that can help us. " Coraline happily said.
The other two agreed, momentarily putting their differences aside for the sake of getting back home as soon as possible.
With that, the newly formed dream team exited the library with newly found determination.

The group took the nearest staircase and thankfully, which was left of the big library door they entered through, and unlike the long emotional way up to the library, the stairs stayed in their place.
However, instead of relaxing, they were tense as they noticed that the higher they went the darker it became, but they can't turn back.
No, not now, they already went too far into the darkness, they can feel the steps behind them but it was too dark to even see each other, they held hands, two more reluctantly, so that they would not lose each other in the darkness.
Darker and darker, soon darkness that no light can pierce enveloped their vision, and their senses dulled with the extended time without sight.
Incredibly, somehow even without their vision, they went higher and higher they couldn't stop like some mysterious force took over their bodies and made them climb without stopping to the top even in the absence of a guiding light.
Higher and even higher until suddenly a dim red light came flooding into view, it took them a few seconds to adjust, even though the light was dim it was still an abrupt change from the absolute darkness.
When they regained their vision they saw a medieval-looking tavern light with red lanterns decorated in black, and skulls on the tables and walls.
" Fucking hell, looks like a goth's wet dream. Ay! Pink fuck I don't like ya but I don't want you dead, so I'll advise you this one time, cover your hair with your scarf if you don't want to paint a target on your back." Lorraine whispered into Sean's ear.
" feelings mutual you arrogant little rat fuck." Sean whispered back angrily visibly irked but he still used his beige scarf to cover his short pink hair.
While the two were conversing Coraline was observing the room, multiple black figures, people in cloaks, stood around doing ominous things, one for example was cleaning his dagger from what Coraline hoped was jam....
The other two joined her in their meek little corner attempting to make themselves blend with the shadow to as Lorraine puts it "escape from the goths.", there they were quietly scanning the room for any hints.
" Didn't think after all the tacky extravagant things we saw in this hotel that it would also house the goths and emos, wait no I should've expected it."
Lorraine quickly corrected her statement.
"after the lobby display I should have to know the crazy type of goths would make themselves at home here." she continued.
" Woah Lory, not now geez, you truly have a way with words. " Coraline said, sarcastically.
A dark, resounding chuckle came from behind them, the hairs on their neck stood up, their bodies shock in fear, they thought that they were huddled in a corner but corners don't chuckle but they were too afraid to look back.
"No no, this ugly's words are true." the corner spoke calmly... Wait! Corners don't speak!
Finally, Coraline mustered up enough strength and courage to turn around.
"Lee!?" she shouted, immediately she put her hands on her mouth in instant regret of her actions, her head down, sweat dripping down her forehead.
Unfortunately, for them, it was too late, they got the whole room's attention now.
