Lucien stood at the entrance of the infirmary, his eyes tracing the delicate features of elviras face as she laid there unconscious. Her brunette hair casecaded over the pillow, contrasting against her skin like a midnight waterfall.
Her rosy lips seemed to possess a hint of vulnerability. His breath caught as a he observed the rise and fall of her chest, each one a testament to her vitality.
Lost in his thoughts, time seemed to pass effortlessly until a subtle movement caught luciens attention.
Elviras eyes fluttered open, revealing a pair of captivating emerald orbs filled with confusion and momentary disorientation.
"Where am I" she said as she tried to sit up, a wave of dizziness washed over her, causing her to groan softly and lean back against the pillows.
Immediately elvira heard a voice say "you're in the crimson moon pack infirmary" snapping her attention towards the source.
She saw a tall, muscular figure with piercing ice blue eyes standing at the entrance. "My sister found you outside unconscious, mind telling me how you got there"
Elvira, still groggy, shoots him a sharp glare and retorts, "none of your damn business" her fiery attitude resurfaces, a defiant edge evident in her voice. She continues "I don't have to tell you anything!" she says, her tone challenging. "I'm not your patient. And even if I was, I wouldn't have to answer your questions. You're not a doctor"
Luciens anger flares up at elviras defiance, a storm brews in his eyes. "you're right, I'm not a doctor" he growls, his voice laced with frustration and a hint of authority. "But I'm the alpha of the pack. And whenever I ask for answers, you damn well give them to me!"
Elvira, refusing to back down, meets his gaze with an unwavering stare. Her eyes glint with defiance. "I think you're forgetting something, powerful alpha" she snaps, her voice dripping with sarcasm "I'm not part of your stupid pack. I don't answer to you or anyone else!"
Luciens mind races, trying to process the audacity of this woman. She has only been here for a few hours, and yet she has managed to rile him up like no one else before. No one talks to him like that an gets away with it. But here she is, speaking like she owns the place.
"You're in my pack, you were treated by my doctor. Don't you think you owe me some kind of explanation"
"It's not like I begged any of you to help me" elvira snapped and lucien raises his eyebrows at her sharp response.
"Maybe not but you're in no position to be ungrateful" he says evenly.
Elvira scoffs and rolls her eyes, "and what position is that exactly?!" She asks.
"You were unconscious, my sister didn't know what happened to you, she could've left you there, but she didn't" lucien replies, his tone growing harder with each word.
Elviras eyes narrow as she glares at lucien "like I said, I never asked for help!"
Lucien takes a deep breath, trying to keep his cool. "look all I'm saying is, a little gratitude won't hurt" he says, trying to sound reasonable.
"If you're looking for gratitude, you're asking the wrong person" she says and luciens eyes flare up with anger at elviras response.
"Are you serious right now!" he half yelled.
"Listen I never asked for your help, nor did I ask to be brought here. That being said, I'm leaving"
Lucien watched as elvira stood up from the bed, her expression still hard and defiant. "Where the hell do you think you're going" he said, his voice low but firm.
Elviras lips curled into a snarl "you heard me, I'm leaving!" She moved towards the door, her footsteps quick and determined.
Lucien called out after her, his voice sharp and angry. "you may leave this infirmary but you're not leaving this house"
"Trust me alpha, I will"
Elvira stared at him for a moment longer, closing her eyes and letting out a deep breath. She didn't want to admit it, but she felt a twinge of gratitude towards them. Even if she wasn't willing to show it.
Elvira turned away, her resolve unwavering. Lucien watched as she left, her footsteps echoing through the silence.
Elvira wanders through the halls of the pack house, a sudden realization set in. She needed fresh clothes and a bath before leaving this place. She didn't want to draw unnecessary attention to herself.
As elvira steps into the room, she sees kylie and layla engaged in a conversation. She interrupts their discussion with her sudden statement. "I'm gonna use your shower, oh and I need some fresh clothes"
The two girls exchange confused glances, unsure of how to respond. Without waiting for a reply, elvira casually walks past them towards the bathroom.
The water from the shower cascades over elviras body providing a moment of solace amidst her conflicting thoughts. As the droplets engulf her, she can't help but ruminate on the disappointment john would feel if he were still alive.
He took care of her since she was a baby he wasn't rich, but he still did his best to provide for her, not once did her ever make her feel like a burden. He did his very best to take care of her until he passed away.
"This is how I repay him, by letting his home, our home get burned to ashes by those bastards. I couldn't do anything, I just stood there like an idiot"
The hurt she feels fuels her desire for vengeance, and she silently vows to make those responsible pay for their actions.
Amidst her thoughts of revenge, elviras mind takes an unexpected turn. That guy from earlier, he's the same guy she saw yesterday.
He's incredibly attractive no doubt, but he's an asshole. "an attractive asshole"
Elvira shakes her head trying to get the thoughts of lucien out of her her head.
Elvira emerges from the steam filled shower, her skin glistening with droplets of water. Her brunette hair clings to her shoulders and cascades down her back, the moisture making it slightly wavy.
She wears a towel wrapped around her body, securing itself under her arms. As her bare feet make contact with the cool tiles, elvira steps towards the bathroom door, which opens to reveal kylie.
