Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

"I've arrived."

"Welcome home, my son. What brings you out so early from work?"

"There was an unexpected situation, and I ended up leaving early. I just dropped by to make sure everyone is alright."

"We're all fine, your father is still at work, and your brother is at school preparing for college."

"Has he decided what career path he'll follow?"

"Not yet. He's torn between studying engineering and becoming a professional fighter."

After chatting with my mother a bit more and ensuring that everything is fine, I headed home.

In reality, it's a simple apartment. I've always wanted to have my own place and be independent, but I've been saving up money to buy a house.

With my job as a physiotherapist, I earn a decent amount of money. After all, the awakened bodies are the means by which people earn money or simply stay alive.

Ring ring.

"Hello, who's calling?"

"This is from the Wind Warrior Dojo. We're calling because you expressed interest in learning a martial art."

"That's right, I wanted to enroll, but I needed to know the courses you offer."

"If you're looking for courses for awakened individuals, we teach movement techniques and offensive techniques. And for the non-awakened population, we offer a general martial arts course."

"I will enroll in the general martial arts course and the movement techniques course."

After enrolling at the dojo, I also registered for a specific dungeon-related course.

Due to the rewards from dungeons and the advantages they bring, many people study them to find the most efficient and advantageous ways to navigate them.

While I was searching for the best location to place my dungeon...

[ATTENTION, URGENT NEWS]

A red message appeared on my phone. It seems to be an emergency alert.

[The GAIA Corporation, responsible for security against monsters and awakened individuals, requests that all those who have been designated as dungeon masters, report to the nearest center for registration.]

It happened quicker than I expected. GAIA, one of the entities responsible for restoring stability after the chaos caused by monsters and the awakened.

It is an institution comprised mainly of mercenaries. Only a few positions are held by awakened individuals who are not mercenaries, unlike the clans, which are generally composed of families of awakened individuals or schools of specific styles.

"Well, now I don't need to worry as much about the location. It's an advantage for those who haven't chosen a location yet, but also a slight loss of freedom or profit."

"I wonder if I'll have to give up my job or not."

After finishing reading the entire message, I decided to go right away. There's no use in procrastinating. If I want to take action within the city, I'll have to register regardless.

"If I charge the same entrance fee as others are doing and promoting on the internet, it's better to set up near people and the public."

After registering with the institution, they showed me several suitable locations to start my dungeon. They gave me the option to either purchase the land or rent it for a small fee.

I decided to purchase an empty plot near the commercial area. Apparently, when you select the location for establishing the portal, you receive the option to integrate it into an existing structure or choose from some presets when creating the portal.

These presets include a tower, a cave, a gate with a portal, and a building.

They all serve the same purposes; the difference is mainly a matter of preference. The first instance serves as a reception, the second is the dungeon where tests take place, and the last is the master's room.

"System, I want to use this terrain to place the portal."

[Scanning available area for system implementation]

[No construction presence found in the selected area, please choose from available presets: Cave, gate, building, or tower.]

"I want the building option."

[Scanning nearby buildings for assimilation of construction, please exit the construction area for construction to commence.]

As if by magic, a simple two-story house in a style similar to the surrounding buildings appeared. The first floor consists of a glass door about 5 meters wide and 3 meters tall. From the outside, if you don't notice the size of the door, it looks like an ordinary house.

"Welcome to your private dimension, please select the name of your dungeon."

"I'm not particularly creative with names... Hmmm, if I were to commercialize, a charming mascot could be good, maybe Fox workers"

[Fox workers selected.]

[Logo customization available in the master room.]

[Private dimension unlocked, opening beginner's package.]

[Congratulations! You've acquired two random mobs: Goblins and Slime.]

[Congratulations, you've acquired 1000 dungeon coins.]

[Congratulations, you've acquired an auxiliary accessory for the control room.]

"Please select an object to function as the auxiliary accessory: book, smartphone glasses, or watch. The accessory will allow you to move between dungeon dimensions, view what's happening inside the dimension, and perform basic configuration functions."

"Attention, this item will be linked to the dungeon master and may be considered indestructible. It will always return to the dungeon master, making it impossible to lose or steal."

"I choose the smartphone."

Upon making the selection, my cellphone underwent a transformation. Its form deviated from any model available on the market. The operating system doesn't have a name, and all applications remained unchanged, with the exception of a few previously nonexistent ones.

"Phew, I thought I was going to lose my data."

[Dungeon master, please come to the master room to configure your dungeon.]

Without wasting time, I used my smartphone to teleport to the master room. The room lacked furnishings, save for a suspended orb and a screen around the orb. As I approached it, several options appeared.

Select dungeon layout, quantity of mobs, mob placements, type of mob spawning, treasure chest probability, chest contents, and mob loot drop probability.

However, each item costs a certain amount of dungeon coins.

"How do I earn dungeon coins?"

"A certain amount of dungeon coins is generated daily based on the complexity of the dungeon, size, and number of test floors. Another way to generate dungeon coins is with the presence of people within the dungeon, defeating challengers, and the emotions generated by them, such as frustration and happiness, as well as offering the bodies of defeated monsters outside the dungeon."

"What other ways can I use these coins?"

"Almost anything, from purchasing items, skills, different monsters, heroes, improving the dungeon and dimension's structure, and increasing your dungeon's level, if you have the required amount of coins."

After realizing the importance of coins, it's necessary to use them wisely. The 1000 coins I received are neither too much nor too little.

I decided to use a cave layout to make better use of the mobs I have. The outcome materialized as a cave-labyrinth fusion, encompassing five interconnected rooms linked by extensive corridors. Within three of these rooms, goblins materialized, each accommodating five goblins set to respawn every ten minutes. One chamber contained ten slimes with a regenerative cycle of 15 minutes, while the final room hosted two goblins and three slimes. This cost me around 250 coins.

After that, I selected the normal loot probability, which cost me 50 coins.

To enable multiple individuals to concurrently access the dungeons without mutual interference, a dimension-splitting function was attainable. This mechanism ensured that despite entering the same dimension, each participant embarked on distinct planes. Although the expenditure was substantial—requiring around 500 coins and it allows me with the capacity to allocate three different planes.

[Congratulations on configuring your dungeon, it is now available for access.]

[Access to attributes panel unlocked.]

[Access to dungeon chat function unlocked.]

[Access to dungeon shop function unlocked.]

[Title acquired: "Novice Dungeon Master."]
