'This man was also an Alcott? If he is an Alcott, then Catherine is the youngest child of the Alcotts. What have I gotten myself into?' I looked at both of them. The atmosphere was really choking. 'It doesn't look like these brothers have a good relationship at all, but all that didn't matter right now. I was still tied up for crying out loud'.
Ares immediately rushed to me. "Amelia, are you alright? Did he do anything to you?" It shows that Ares was really worried about me. After dad and Luna left me, no one was ever worried about me. I was really happy.
"I am alright but can you untie me now?" He nodded and quickly untied me. Ares turned to Axel. "Why did you do that to her? Answer me." He shouted and he was so furious.
"What made you think I would want to associate with her?" I could feel the tension already. It looked like they could tear each other apart. I quickly interfered before anyone could do anything.
"Enough!!!. Ares, he wasn't the one that tied me up. In fact he knew nothing about it. I will explain everything later. Just let's get out of this place first.
I went to the door but it was shut. 'How could it still be locked? Didn't Ares came through the door?' I looked at him, hoping to get answers.
"Didn't you came through the door?" Ares shooked his head and said "I was already in the library. I came to look for a book, but why are you asking.?" I tried to gather myself. 'Was I going to be here all day? No I have to get out of here.'
I went to meet the two brothers. "The people that tied me here locked the doors. Can any of you use your phone to call for help?" I turned to Ares.
"Sorry but my phone is with Blake." I faced Axel hoping he was with his. "What about you?" He brought it out and I was happy but the phone was dead.
"My phone is dead. I forgot to charge it this morning." I sighed and said "Why did I even bother asking you.
"Okay rabbit, since you are the responsible one, where is your phone?" I looked at him in anger. 'if I had a phone, would I bother asking?'
"I don't have a phone, okay? That is not what we should be talking about now. We're stuck in this place." I looked at the door. There is no way we could break it open. It was massive. It was like the size of a palace door. We were on the third floor so there is no way we could jump out of the window. Ares cupped my face with his hands.
"Relax Amelia, Blake or Axel's friend will come looking for us and they will eventually find us. So don't stress yourself. While we are here, why don't you explain what happened?" He reassured me and I nodded. I told him everything that happened. How Amber and her friends tied me up and locked me. And how I saw Axel behind a shelf. Ares clenched his fist and told me not to worry.
Three if us sat down and I was in the middle of both of them. I could feel the tension between both of them.
About thirty minutes later we were still there. I was beginning to feel cold and I think Axel noticed because he took his jacket off and used it to warm me. I smiled and thanked him but he didn't reply and just closed his eyes. Ares was really angry seeing what was happening.
I fell asleep on Axel's shoulder without knowing. I didn't know how long it had been. I woke up when l heard a voice. Two voices exactly. They were calling Ares and Axel names. One of was them was Blake's voice but the other sounds really familiar.
"Ares,Axel, are you there?" Ares stood up and shouted "Yes, hurry up and open up." we all stood up and I was behind the two brothers.
The door opened and I heard that other person's voice again. "Axel, what are you doing here. Caroline gave me a hear full because of you." I recognize that voice but I prayed it was not the person I was thinking. Ares dragged me to the front and I could see the person face clearly. It was Max. Luna's ex-boyfriend.
When he saw me he was also shocked. He called my name. "Amelia? Is that you?" I didn't reply. Instead I ran away. I really wanted to get answers from him about why he suddenly broke up with Luna but I also want to forget about the past. I really don't want to bring past memories.
Max called out to me again but I continued running. Blake and Ares called and ran after me leaving Axel and Max.
Axes looked confused. "Do you know rabbit?" Max faced Axel and said. "She's my ex's best friend. I will explain everything on the way, let's go.
Meanwhile, Blake and Ares were still calling and running after me but I couldn't listen. I was recalling all my memories as I ran. I could still remember every last memory Luna and I have made. Even the hurtful words she told me.
Suddenly I tripped over a rock and fell down. Then tears began to rolldown my cheeks. Ares and Blake caught up with me.
"Amelia!!! Are you alright? Are you knees hurting? They asked me questions then I looked at them with teary eyes. I didn't know when I started to cry.
"Amelia, why are you crying? Weren't you and Max friends during high school? why did you run when you saw him? Pls explain and stop crying, please." I gathered myself and told him everything.
He hugged me and patted me. "Don't cry anymore, everything will be alright. It's okay." I finally stopped crying and wiped my tears.
"Thank you Ares. You too Blake. I have troubled you two enough already." Ares looked at me and smiled "We are friends so you are not bothering us at all. Since you couldn't make it to the Cafe, let me give you a ride to the orphanage. Remember I still have a surprise for you."
That was when I realized I didn't go to the Cafe. I started panicking. 'I will surely get fired.' Ares noticed and calmed me down. "Calm down, I will send someone to compensate the owner of the Cafe so you won't get fired." I finally calmed down. Ares really cared for me but I don't want to make the same mistake again. I don't want to get too attached to him.
"Thank you, I should be going now." Ares held my hands to stop me. "I told you I have a surprise and it is at the orphanage. So let's go." I looked at him confused but I followed him and entered his car.
"When we arrived at the orphanage, the children ran to me and hugged me. I smiled and hugged them back. I missed them too. When I was about to enter the building, two cars parked in front of the orphanage and I saw Ares smiling.
"Ares, what is going on?" I asked. Ares walked over to me and said. "I told you I had a surprise. One of the car is filled with gift and toys for the children and the other one is filled with sweet dishes also for the children. I saw how much you loved the children so I prepared this for them. I also donated money to take care of the children. Of course Blake also helped. Do you like it?"
I gasped. They did all that for me? The children looked so happy after hearing about it and started jubilating. I wanted to protest but when I saw the children faces I stopped myself. I looked at Ares and Blake.
" Thank you so much guys. The children are really happy because of you guys. I know I might not be able to repay you for what you have done but if there is anything I can do to make it up to you then feel free to ask me."
After that, Ares and Blake shared the gift and treats to the children. They looked really happy. After they were done. We played with the children and it was a lot of fun.
When it was late I told Ares that I would be leaving. He insisted on giving me a ride home but I refused. I didn't want to owe him anything again. He had done a lot for me and I shouldn't take that for granted. Besides, I don't want aunt or anyone to see us together.
After Amelia left, Ares looked at Blake and said "You can ask me about what is bothering you now." Ares has noticed that Blake wanted to ask a question but couldn't since Amelia was there.
"Are you really sure she is the one in the prophecy? I don't see any unique thing about her and I definitely can't feel any magic coming from her. She looks ordinary to me." Ares grinned and looked at Blake. "I also had my doubts before but now I am sure, she is the one in the prophecy. Just wait for a while and you will see the results. Axel or anyone must not come to know about this."
Blake frowned and said "But Max and Axel is already suspicious. Max also went to the same school with her, he would tell Axel about it and they will suspect something."
Ares turned away from Blake and said "That's okay, they only suspect. It will give me time to plan ahead of them. I have finally found her. Let's go celebrate." He said as he entered his car. Blake followed and they both drove off.
