Chapter 12 - Shadow Path Supreme Master Might!

Dean stood at the end of the small line that formed in front of the receptionist's desk and awaited his turn, contemplating if he should drop this quest or ignore the consequences of taking it.

' Taking it will show the fire church that I'm already trying to gather the required sum to buy the gem; killing bandits can also be a good training session to get used to the couple of techniques the owner of this body mastered, but is it really worth it?'

The killing part slightly disturbed Dean, but he didn't make a fuss about it.

The memories provided by the original Dean of this world showed him enough killing that he even started to get numb. Alas, he still had his boundaries, and he only didn't care about this matter cause his targets were bandits, killers, and rapers, people that needed to die and won't be missed by the masses.

' No, no, wait. I should look at this from another perspective as well!'

As he was about to think of the disadvantages of taking the quest and weighing both of them to make the best choice, a 2-meter-tall man the age of 30 entered the adventure guild—the man wearing a white robe that fully hid their appearance.

When the man appeared, everyone in the adventure instinctively looked at him.

As if a bomb was about to go off, Thomas, his friend, and Derick subconsciously took several steps back, creating a ten-meter distance between them and Dean.

The mages and warriors inside the guild's hall overlooked their actions as everyone's full attention was focused on the man.

Immediately afterward, a tsunami-like pressure, far stronger than anyone had ever seen, spread from the man.

" Ignorant fool, bygone from this world!"

Before the man's furious shout could reverberate across the guild hall, the man summoned an axe of fire in their hand and swung it at Dean.

Outside the adventure guild on the streets in front and neighboring it...

Numerous people were tending to their work, some selling their own beast meat, fur, or anything related to monsters outside the city outskirts, while others were selling materials, varying from swords to medicine and even armor plus clothes useful for adventures that wished to venture deep into the forest.

However, rather than the multiple shops scattered across the whole market, the people who came to these streets specifically to buy several items they required paid more attention to the group gathered in front of the adventure guild.

" What are the new divers doing in such a remote place?"

Another one exclaimed after hearing the guy who had just spoken.

" Who cares about their intentions? What I care more about is watching the drama or fight that is about to unfold in this place."

The man who first spoke looked at the guy next to him and nodded in approval.

" You are right. Their business here has nothing to do with us, but we can at least witness a live battle of Divers or something of similar intensity once in our lives."

Although divers were considered celebrities in all the mortal's eyes, the same was also true for mages and warriors.

As soon as people from the fire church and other churches that came to the street across the adventure guild to buy a few things noticed their presence, everyone dropped what they were doing and waited for what was about to happen.

They knew that Divers were arrogant and would always make trouble in every place they went; therefore, they didn't even blink as they got closer to the adventure guild for a better view of the battle or drama about to transpire.

Outside the adventure guild, over ten divers orderly gathered in front of a white-robed woman covering her whole appearance, identical to the man who just stepped inside the guild.

At this time, a middle-aged man wearing white armor with a long, wide sword attached to his back approached the white-robed woman and confidently said," We've finished sealing the entire adventure guild Diver Blank. Not even a diver the rank of a seeker should think of escaping easily."

" Good." Diver Blank nodded." In case Jeremy fails to execute the heir of the assassin family or takes some time doing it, we will intervene and kill him off altogether."

" Diver Blank, if possible the question, but why are we using such a force to take a gemless kid down?." The middle-aged man respectfully raised a question as he took a step back.

The white-robed woman didn't seem to care about giving out the answer and slowly explained," After our main force annihilated his family thanks to Roy giving us their exact location, we found out that the cards from the chaos dimension stolen by them had been delivered to their heir long ago, we didn't find out before that cause Roy wasn't included in meetings to make such decisions."

" Understood!"

Upon hearing Diver Blank's explanation, everyone drew their weapons and got ready to charge into the adventure guild to support Jeremy in case of emergency."

Just as Diver Blank was about to inform the middle-aged man to go in and check on Jeremy, a white beam suddenly came from the adventure guild tens of meters in front of them.

Boom!

Following the beam, the barrier surrounding the guild shattered like glass and vanished. As a result, the four divers maintaining it suffered a backlash and died on the spot, their bodies dropping to the ground with a loud thud, their eyes lifeless, full of terror and disbelief of what just happened…

"An ambush?"

"Did we get attacked?"

The remaining divers gathered outside the adventure guild were stunned by this unexpected development; even the white-robed woman was no exception.

However, before anyone could make sense of what had happened, a mighty aura spread from the guild and exerted overpowering pressure on the people caught within its range; immediately, the hundreds of people watching the show from the market facing the adventure guild lost their lives and dropped lifelessly to the ground.

As for the divers standing in front of the guild's door, although they managed to cling to their lives, that was all they could do. The pressure exerted by the mighty aura thoroughly paralyzed them.

Subsequently, a plain-looking young man could be seen suddenly flying out of the hole made by the white pillar of light.

Meanwhile, whether it was Diver Blank or the middle-aged man, they instantly recognized the plain-looking young man when they saw his face.

"Dean?"
