After a few minutes, Dean reached 50b street, which was a few miles away from the fire church, and began looking for his own house.
'50 B Street, was it?'
He walked along a dirt road and soon found himself in front of a small one-story house that could accommodate one person at most.
From just the outside looks, his house looked way beneath the other houses in his street.
As a matter of fact, all the other houses neighboring him are two-story houses, yet his house was only a small one that is better off being called a tent.
As he retrieved his key from his pocket and opened the wooden door in front of him, he was met with zero resistance.
' The door is already opened, a thief?'
He frowned deeply as he thought about his next actions.
'Should I just open the system here and get my third gift already? Or maybe call the guards to secure my house?' Dean evaluated the pros and cons of each scenario.
Only, and before he could make a choice, a loud voice that of a young man coming from inside his house entered his ears.
" Come in, little Dean, no need to be afraid; it is me, your big brother, here to help you by my mother's orders."
Dean snorted inwardly hearing his words.
' Brother my a**, the owner of this body has no family from what I can see.'
Dean abruptly took a step back and turned around to run in the direction of the guards, only to be met with a black-clothed person looking at him with amusement.
In an instant, a foul wind blew, and Dean was forcefully dragged inside the house, the door slowly closing in behind them.
The black-clothed man was looking with amusement at Dean that was gazing at him with killing intent, reluctantly sitting on the sofa facing him.
" Don't look at me like that little brother. Do you know how much I cried after you left our family, saying you refuse to kill people for profit? I was heartbroken; I didn't take any missions for three days, depressed that my little brother left me without even saying goodbye."
' Little brother? Family? What is this guy mumbling about.' Dean narrowed his eyes as he tried to recall the various plots of the novels he read, but even though he found similar ones, he needed more information if he wanted to make sure of what was happening here.
' Is he sent by the fire church to murder me? Did they find out about my mission?'
' No, that can't be possible! the owner of this body was about to make a few moves after he gets his wind gem; there is no way the fire church will know anything about this matter.' Dean thought, his heart beating loudly and faster with each passing moment; his hands were even shaking from the intensity of the situation.
The black-cloaked man took off his cloak revealing his white face with a deep scar that went from his right eye to the corners of his mouth; everything else on the other hand, was an exact copy of Dean.
Roy didn't bother to snap Dean out of his daze and only watched the show before him with a pleasant smile,' My pathetic brother, is this how he looks without his memories? Even though I would love to keep him this way, my mother's orders are absolute... Sigh, will my position in the family be threatened again with him coming back?'
Unfortunately, Roy had no say in the matter, and with a snap of his fingers, a blue orb that was the size of his palm materialized in front of him. In a flash, the orb penetrated the forehead of Dean leaving no sign of injuries or anything of that sort on his skin.
Dean on the other hand, wasn't in reality shaking the whole time; he was instead faking everything as he busied himself with his third gift. Alas, before he could open it and obtain its contents, a flood of memories of the original owner of the body in his younger days invaded his brain.
Dean smirked inside after going through all of the information,' Pain neutralizer, I really love this passive skill.'
' Hm, so the owner of this body was born in an assassin family that ranked first in this whole region, but given Dean's monstrous talent and insane memory that could memorize anything he sees with a single glimpse from his eyes, his father erased his memories and sent him to this backyard kingdom where peasants lived.'
Digesting everything slowly, Dean's eyes flashed with a bright light for a split of a second before looking at his twin brother that was a few minutes older than him, killing intent radiating out of them, sending cold chills running down Roy's spine.
Roy instantly raised his hands and explained in a pleading tone" Little brother. No, brother, I was only joking with you; there is no need to get mad."
Even though he pleaded, Dean could clearly see that he was instead ready to counter-attack and suppress him with the knife hidden inside of his space ring.
Laughing lightly, Dean vanished from the sofa he was sitting in; his figure was nowhere to be seen even after several seconds of his disappearance, which made Roy's whole body drenched with sweat.
' Why damn it, Mother, we were fine without this monster; we could have asked for external help. Did we have to awaken this thing?'
His thoughts were soon abruptly cut off as Dean's cold chilly voice sounded in the surroundings, untraceable, sounding like he was speaking from every fiber of the house, existing everywhere yet nowhere at the same time.
" I don't care about your measly jokes; I want answers or be ready to forfeit your life. Before you think of doing anything stupid like releasing your blood core, remember that father isn't here to help you. Either way, you are going to die if you don't cooperate."
Roy inwardly rolled his eyes hearing his words,' I had no hand in the decision you idiot; I was only 10 years old back then for f**k sake.'
But later on, a smirk appeared on his face as he said," It was our father's decision; you know that there is no need for you to punish me for what he did to you; I'm only here to give you back your memory and deliver a message no more."
Dean was feeling ecstatic as he blended with the shadows in the dim light with almost no lighting.
' This feels way too good! Is this what people with power feels here? Being in control of your own life and fate?'
Every second he saw the anxious face of Roy, he couldn't help but dwell deeper into this feeling, getting consumed by it with each passing moment.
' Power huh? Is morality really something worth caring for when such strength is available to you? From what I can see in the people around me, from the wind church to this city, people didn't really care much about each other; the owner body's memories at least portrayed that much.'
' Old man, is this the reason you placed me in this body? Did you want me to feel the thrill of power so soon that my morality and emotions don't get in the way? Alas, you failed; it's too early to judge the world by a measly dozen of people this kid met; I'll decide on my own what actions I shall take in this world.'
Dean didn't rash in choosing the path he would take yet, he needed experiments, and he didn't wanna kill people for his own benefit without making sure that this world did indeed operate that way.
He was a human that lived 92 years old of his life on earth, a peaceful world where only a few wars here and there erupted from time to time.
An 18 years old young man's memories of bad people won't easily change his train of thought.
As he thought about that, he grinned viciously and headed to the kitchen, perfectly hidden by the darkness filling the house.
Dean's moves were natural and extremely skillful, totally being one with the darkness as he left the kitchen with a silver knife and moved towards the front door.
He saw his brother having a confident expression after he spoke about his father and sprinted towards him while holding the silver dagger in his left hand.
Before he could notice his presence in the dark, he arrived in front of him and thrust his dagger into his shoulder.
A heartbeat later, his silver dagger plunged into his brother's right shoulder while tearing the flesh and giving him a light injury.
Roy grabbed his shoulder with his left hand and clenched his teeth lightly, hints of disbelief visible on his face.
' I failed to notice his presence? How is this possible!'
Roy was confident that he could take on his brother even though he was way behind in terms of talent, only because he kept training under his father for eight more years after Dean was kicked out of the house.
Recalling the smirk he just displayed right now, he felt quite embarrassed by how naive he was acting.
' Terrifying talent, his skills are almost reaching perfection on the level he could currently push that not even someone three ranks above him like me can hold a candle to him in terms of martial arts; no wonder my father decided to erase his memory and banish him from his house. If I were in his place, I would have killed him instead.'
Dean's silhouette appeared in front of the terrified Roy, with a wide, bright smile as he slowly said," I know you had no hand in my father's decision. I was just joking with you big brother."
Roy couldn't help but hardly muster up a light smile as he gazed at Dean's smiling face.
To be fair, he found this smile of his way more terrifying than his father's angry expression, and for some reason, he couldn't help but wonder again.
' Why the hell are we bringing this monster back to our family Mother? Let us perish; I don't want to interact with this thing anymore; it's terrifying; he is not human.'
