The woman pulled Slanier out of the police station.
She slapped his face. "Hey! So, you are police officer Slanier, who took the lead in the operation to save my sister, but you and your fucking teammates failed. What right do you have to be a careless cop?"
He was surprised when he saw her face.
His eyes widened, "You are still alive?"
Her forehead creased, "What are you saying, stupid?"
She pushed him.
"I'm Rehyin. I am the twin of the woman who was a victim of kidnap for ransom that you let die because of your sloppy plan!"
He bowed. "I'm sorry..."
He claimed a sin for which he was not guilty.
"Fuck you and your teammates. I hope all of you die."
Halin approached her. His brows drew together. "What the hell, woman? We did everything to save your sister, but we followed Slanier's sloppy plan!"
Slanier went to their center. "Sir, stop! Don't invalidate her feelings! We must have a broad understanding of the victim's family."
She pointed her finger at Halin's face. "Hey you, fucking sir of that Slanier! Don't you have a brain of your own?"
"I have, bitch! Stop acting like it's all our fault! It's the fault of the kidnappers!" Halin shouted.
She faked a laugh, "Fuck you! Pick your brains off the ground!"
She stared at Slanier hard, "Hey, officer Slanier, I will never forgive you. You are worthless."
She walked away.
Slanier did nothing but kneel on the side of the road. It hurts him so much to hear that someone can't forgive him. He's not guilty. But because he's kind, he let his teammates lead the operation. For him, his sin is heavier.
"The woman is right; I'm worthless," He whispered.
Three hours later.
Slanier put his things in his bag. He's done with work, so he's going home.
While he was walking, his fellow policemen were looking at him. He knows they look down on him. He has been a police officer for two years. He never felt that he was important to his fellow policemen.
"Is it a sin to be a good person?" He asked himself.
He was about to get into the taxi, but someone suddenly pulled him over.
"Stupid Slanier, It's good that you didn't report to rank one that it was my fault why we didn't succeed in the operation." Halin slapped his head.
"You know yourself that I am a good policeman, Sir Halin. But you know better that I'm kind, so you abuse me," He seriously looked Halin in the eyes with regret, "I have a lot of respect for you. But because of what you did, I lost respect for you. Sir, being a policeman is not just for display in the community; we need intelligence and proper behavior."
Halin spat in his face. "You're a good police officer, but you don't have a voice. You know, It's right that you keep quiet because I'm going to do something to you that you won't like if you speak against me."
"I'm not afraid of you, Sir Halin."
"It's okay, stupid Slanier. You don't really know me yet."
"Sir Halin, why did you change? You used to be nice to me, weren't you?"
"Everything I showed you was fake. I laugh at you every time you believe my lies."
"Sir, not that I condone your evil deeds, but I thought you were real then, so I quickly trusted you," He faked a laugh, "What have I done wrong to you? Why are you so mad at me?"
"Do you think I don't know what you're thinking? Do you think I'm jealous of you? Fuck you, Slan."
"Sir Halin, I really want to punch you. But I still believe that you are kind. And when my granddad was sick, you were one of those who helped me. But it's not appropriate for me to hide the truth because you helped me before!"
Halin smirked, "Just admit to yourself that you are weak."
"Sir! Don't you really feel guilty for what you did earlier? What you did is against the enforced service of our organization."
"You should be the one to feel guilty, Slanier. You know why? Because when we left, I hope you chased us to prevent us from going to the location where the victim is!"
He looked away. "You are manipulative, Sir."
A taxi stopped in front of them.
He glanced, "Sir, I'm going home. Be careful, and I hope you feel guilty."
One hour later.
Slanier was fighting back tears, "Hmm. Slantin, I don't know how to tell you this..."
"What is it? My lovely grandson?" His granddad asked worriedly.
Tears ran down his cheeks, "Granddad…"
His granddad approached him. "Oh, my precious... Why are you crying?"
"I failed in one mission. I'm a useless and worthless officer." He was stunned and sat on the floor.
"I understand, Slan. I'm sorry if you felt that way. I'm not here to invalidate you; don't worry. If you don't want to talk about what happened, that's fine with me."
"Granddad, look at me; I'm weak. It's not appropriate for a man like me to cry, right?"
Slantin tapped his shoulder. "It matters when a man cries. Never think it is not appropriate or valid. Go ahead, just cry. I'm your shield, but that doesn't mean I will block your tears. It's okay to be weak, grandson; it's normal."
"It's okay if you feel down about yourself right now because you said you failed. But it's not too late, my lovely grandson," Slantin added.
He tweaked his hair. "I'm sure I'll have a hard time forgiving myself because I've hurt so many people. They don't deserve to be hurt, but I'm too weak to fight for them. I'm a professional police officer, but I don't have the voice to speak for what is right."
"Granddad, I wish I hadn't been so kind."
"My Slan, I will not enter into your decision in life. But I hope you know when to fight. I know how kind you are."
"Granddad, I have no brain. I let my leader blame me for the operation they did without me. The victim died, granddad. And I have no voice to tell the head officer because I felt someone was holding my neck or because I have no care for the victim and her family."
"I know I will be insensitive if I ask you why you like that... I know I will be insensitive if I ask you why you like that... But someone lost a life. I know it's not all your fault," Slantin sighed, "I hope you understand if the victim's family almost curses you, especially if your teammates blame you. I know you are hurt by what happened, but you have to move on with life. And please, never let your teammates oppress you."
His grandfather hugged him. He began to cry loudly.
But something was bothering him more.
