Episode 6
Helena's resolve wavered, "I can't stand this."
"Hold on, milady," Indah assured her.
With indah command, Verdant Spear materialized –
a Level 3 spear from the surroundings.
indah also command 'chains of heaven' a Level 3 chain as well, emerged from a nearby tree to ensnare the beast.
A sudden boom erupted from Helena's ring as a spellbook emerged. She invoked the 'Eye of Heaven', a Level 2 sense skill through Indah, to probe the beast's weaknesses.
"Everyone, listen up! The beast has a core in its right hand. We need to attack it together. I'll create an opening, and you all unleash your best attacks," Indah ordered.
Captain: "Alright, knights!"
Indah swiftly attacked the beast, using the chain to immobilize it, allowing others to launch their assaults.
The confusion was evident in the beast's eyes as it struggled against the chain, its attempt at a punch thwarted.
Indah roared, a determined expression on her face, and unleashed a powerful strike from the tip of her spear. A blue light emerged and shattered the skin in the beast's right hand.
The beast retaliated, landing a devastating punch on Indah. She coughed up blood, bearing the brunt of the attack. Being at Level 3 and fighting a Level 3 beast meant facing an opponent with ten times the power of an average human at the same level.
Her spear-wielding hand was severely damaged.
Not stop there, the beast suddenly use its hammer
In the midst of the chaotic battle, the enormous beast raised its colossal hammer high into the air. As it brought the weapon down with an earth-shattering force, a tremendous shockwave rippled through the air, stirring up a tempestuous gust. The very ground trembled beneath the weight of its impending impact.
The remaining guards, their numbers diminished to just a mere fifteen, braced themselves for the incoming onslaught. Fear was etched into their eyes, but so was an unyielding determination. These were Polimex's finest, seasoned warriors who had faced adversity countless times before. They had sworn to protect their kingdom at all costs, even if it meant facing a level 3 beast.
However, as the wind howled and the shockwave drew nearer, it became apparent that the situation was dire. Indh, with a swift yet focused expression, acted swiftly. With a flourish of her hand, she channeled her 'Verdant Defend' skill. Instantly, the earth responded to her command, the very terrain around the guards shifting and contorting as if answering her call.
The land rose in response, forming a natural barricade that absorbed the brunt of the wind's impact. The howling gust crashed into the newly formed barrier, its force expended against the resilient defense. The ground itself seemed to morph into an ally, protecting the guards and their princess from the imminent danger.
The impact was immense, the shockwave creating a visible ripple in the air. Leaves and debris were sent swirling in all directions, carried by the forceful current of wind. The surroundings were thrown into disarray as the very fabric of the forest seemed to protest against the beast's violent strike.
As the dust settled and the wind subsided, the guards found themselves shielded behind the makeshift bulwark created by Helena's skill. Their faces were a mixture of relief and amazement at the unexpected turn of events. The ground beneath their feet, once solid and unyielding, bore the mark of their desperate struggle.
Among them, the guard captain emerged with a determined expression, his grip tightening on his weapon. "We can't let up now. Our kingdom's safety rests on our shoulders!" he shouted, rallying the weary troops.
With renewed resolve, they sprang into action. One guard invoked a 'Water Slash'skill, sending a high-pressure torrent of water rushing towards the beast. Another summoned a 'Rock Hammering' spell, conjuring a series of massive stones to bombard the creature. The guards synchronized their efforts, a united front against the overwhelming odds.
Amid the chaos, the beast roared in fury. Its massive form shook with rage, but it was the momentary distraction they needed. Indah seized the opportunity, making her move. She lunged forward, her spear gleaming in the dim light of the forest. With a swift and precise motion, she aimed for the beast's core.
The beast, sensing the impending danger, attempted to evade her strike. But the chain that had held it back reasserted its grip, restricting its movements. The spear found its mark, and a brilliant blue light erupted from the tip of the weapon. The impact was staggering, and the right hand of the beast was torn open, exposing its core—a crystalline, purple gem pulsating with energy.
Indah cried out, a signal for the other guards to unleash their best attacks – water slashes, rock hammerings, and more – all targeting the beast's core.
The guards saw their chance and unleashed their attacks with precision. Spells of all kinds were hurled at the exposed core, a concentrated barrage that left the beast reeling. But its resistance was tenacious, and the struggle was far from over.
In the aftermath of the skirmish, the area bore the scars of the ferocious battle. Trees were uprooted, foliage shredded, and the ground marked with craters. The forest, once a tranquil expanse, had become a battlefield of destruction.
Helena, her tears mingling with the dirt on her face, embraced Indah. The two women shared a moment of gratitude, their bond strengthened by the harrowing ordeal they had faced together. The remaining guards, battered but triumphant, looked upon their fallen comrades with solemnity, promising to remember their sacrifice.
As the dust settled and the echoes of battle faded, the surviving members of the royal guard knew that their kingdom had been safeguarded once more. The beast, its core shattered and its rampage halted, lay still in its final moments. The danger had passed, but the scars of the encounter would forever remain etched in their memories—a testament to their unwavering courage and determination.
Beneath the skin of its right hand, a visible purple crystal core was exposed.
The coordinated onslaught hit the core, the beast unable to dodge due to the chain's restraining effect. The core slowly crumbled, and as it shattered completely, the beast met its demise, turning into ashes along with the disintegration of its core.
"I'm dying," one of the guards cried.
"Is it finished?" another asked.
"I think I need to retire soon," yet another pondered.
From the original 100-strong group, only 15 remained.
Helena, tears streaming down her face, embraced Indah, thanking her for her valiant efforts.
"Thank you, Indah. You're my bestie."
"Thank you, milady. But I'm severely injured. Could you please release your grip?"
"Of course, sorry. Wait a moment."
Indah's healing powers emerged, a divine light emanating from her hand to slowly mend Indah's injuries. Helena's lineage was angelic, her father not just a king but a former hero, and her mother, Amy, a fallen angel from a war 300 years ago. Helena inherited her mother's healing abilities.
"Thank the gods we survived."
"I think Polimex owes us an explanation for this incident on their border," Helena stated angrily.
"Agreed," the guard captain chimed in. "The circumstances are just too coincidental. Did Polimex orchestrate an assassination? Are they out of their minds?"
Suddenly.
