Chereads / Eclipsed Destiny: The Saga of Diaz / Chapter 7 - The Beggining of a Disaster

Chapter 7 - The Beggining of a Disaster

Diaz's masked presence cast an enigmatic shadow over the aftermath of the battle. He stood confidently above the defeated gargantua monster, his stance emanating an air of both mystery and authority. The remaining guards exchanged uncertain glances, their exhaustion mixed with curiosity.

"Well, what do we have here?" Diaz's voice, though calm, carried a hint of intrigue as he surveyed the scene before him. His masked visage concealed his true identity, adding to the intrigue that surrounded him.

Indah's gaze fixed upon Diaz, her guard not wavering for a moment. Her voice held a mixture of caution and curiosity as she spoke, "Who... who are you?"

Diaz tilted his head slightly, the mask concealing his expression. "Names are fleeting, my dear Indah," he responded cryptically, his tone tinged with a hint of amusement. "But you can call me a passerby, someone who stumbled upon this... spectacle."

The guard captain stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "You appear out of nowhere, masked and seemingly unharmed. Are you friend or foe?" he demanded, his voice firm.

Diaz's lips curled beneath the mask, a wry smile forming. "Ah, an astute question," he mused. "Let's just say I'm an observer of fate's whims, drawn to the clash of forces."

Indah's brows furrowed as she studied Diaz. "What do you want?" she asked, her tone cautious.

Diaz's gaze shifted towards the remnants of the beast. "Ah, my dear Indah, I want nothing more than to witness the outcome of this grand spectacle," he replied enigmatically. "The clash of strength and determination, the rise of heroes and the fall of the mighty. It's a story that intrigues me."

Helena, who had been listening quietly, finally spoke up. "You're no ordinary traveler," she stated, a hint of suspicion in her voice. "You carry an air of familiarity, of purpose."

Diaz chuckled softly. "You have a keen eye, Princess Helena," he remarked. "But as for my purpose, well, let's just say I'm here to observe the ripples in the tapestry of destiny."

The guard captain's grip on his sword tightened, his mistrust still apparent. "If you're here to sow chaos, know that Polimex will not be shaken."

Diaz raised a gloved hand, as if pacifying the captain's concerns. "Rest assured, noble captain, chaos is but one thread in the tapestry," he said cryptically. "And sometimes, chaos gives birth to the most unexpected harmony."

"I'm here solely to remind you," Diaz continued with a confident smirk, "that a disaster, a witch that control the beast will come (sory mom T.T) and could strike you at any second. And I'm extending an offer to the two of you to join me."

Indah's skepticism was evident as he spoke up. "You expect us to just abandon our comrades?"

Diaz's smirk deepened, his words dripping with an enigmatic quality. "Well, you can bring one or two guards, of course. But the rest... leave them here."

Helena's eyes narrowed as she tried to decipher Diaz's intentions. "And why should we trust you?"

Diaz's gaze held a glint of amusement, as if he found the situation mildly entertaining. "Because I have a way to keep you safe."

Indah's spear was gripped tighter, his wariness unmistakable. "How do we know you're not leading us into a trap?"

Diaz's expression remained inscrutable, his tone confident. "You don't. But consider this: the alternative might be far worse.

Indah's voice dripped with skepticism. "You expect us to believe that a witch is behind all of this? And that you're here to save us from some impending disaster?"

Diaz's tone remained serious. "Believe what you will, but I assure you, the danger is real. The witch who sent that beast is not to be underestimated. She's formidable, and her power far surpasses anything you've encountered before."

Helena's eyes narrowed. "Why should we trust you?"

Diaz's response was measured. "You don't have to trust me. But take this as a token of sincerity." He produced a talisman, its aura radiating with an otherworldly energy. "Safe talisman," he explained. "Heavenly level. Ordinary talismans won't protect you from her."

The mention of a heavenly talisman left them stunned. They had only heard tales of such artifacts, often dismissed as myths. Indah's wariness transformed into incredulity and she pointed her spear at Diaz and a Oppresive aura comes from the spear that goes to Diaz,. "Don't think we're easily swayed by your tricks."

As if on cue, the gargantua dispelled the aura of Indah's spear with a mere surge of its own aura.

Diaz's chuckled softly, sensing their doubts. "The gargantua may convince you otherwise."

Indah's shock was palpable, realizing the extent of the creature's power. "You... you're saying this witch is even stronger?"

Diaz nodded gravely. "Exponentially so."

"I still don't trust him," one of the guards said, voicing the collective sentiment.

Diaz's gaze shifted to Indah and Helena. "I'm here to extend an invitation, not to win your trust.

Helena's voice carried a note of wariness as she questioned Diaz's motives. "And why did you save us?"

Diaz's response came with an air of casualness, as if he were sharing an everyday truth. "Do you believe if I say, I like you, Princess?"

Indah's incredulous retort followed swiftly. "No way."

Diaz's smirk remained, seemingly unshaken by their skepticism.

"We will not leave anyone here." Helena's resolve was firm as she spoke up.

"Well, that's not for you to choose."

With those words, Diaz turned and began to walk away, his figure blending into the surrounding forest. As he disappeared from view, his presence seemed to linger in the air, leaving the guards and the two women in a state of contemplation.

10 minutes earlier

'Gargantua Kidnap Her..."

before Diaz Command the Gargantua, he felst something 'Stooppp!!!"

The gargantua's Stop Suddenly.

Meanwhile, Diaz's wind sense picked up an immense and familiar aura approaching. "No way. Mom??" he thought, a mix of surprise and worry coursing through him. The strength of the aura was overpowering, as if his mother were a determined mother bear searching for her lost cub after a millennium.

His thoughts raced, "How could she have come here? So strong..." Diaz realized that his use of the heavenly skill Wind skill 'Invisible' might have leaked his aura, leading his mother to his location. The idea that she might be maintaining her senses 24/7 in a radius like this seemed implausible. A sadness tugged at his heart as he considered the distress she must be feeling, searching for a son who she believed was long gone.

Shaking off the sentimentality, Diaz refocused on the immediate danger. "No time to think about that now. If she catches me before I reveal my plan, things could go very wrong."

His original intention had been to execute a ruthless plan involving mass slaughter and kidnapping, but his mother's unexpected appearance forced him to reconsider. Her unpredictable interference could lead to unintended consequences. Diaz sighed inwardly, acknowledging that he needed to adapt his strategy.

"I'm sorry, Mom," he muttered under his breath. "But we can't meet just yet. Please give me a little more time.". Then Diaz comes out with communication talisman, and he said something… Hope this'll work

Returning to the present

Indah exchanged a glance with the guard captain, uncertainty etched across her features. "Who was that?" she wondered aloud.

Helena's gaze remained fixed on the spot where Diaz had stood. "I don't know," she admitted, "but there's something about him that's... different."

The guard captain sighed, his sword still at the ready. "In times like these, trust is a luxury we can't afford," he said, his tone somber. "We'll stay vigilant."

As the guards surveyed the aftermath of the battle and the forest slowly began to regain its composure, the enigmatic encounter with Diaz lingered in their minds. The masked stranger's presence had added yet another layer of complexity to the already extraordinary events that had unfolded. In the end, they were left with questions and uncertainty, a reminder that the world was filled with mysteries that even the bravest of warriors couldn't fully comprehend.

Indah and Helena exchanged a glance, still torn between doubt and concern. Before they could react, an explosive sound echoed through the forest, followed by the arrival of a powerful gust of wind. A woman emerged, her presence commanding and her eyes ablaze with fury.

"WHERE IS HE?!" her voice thundered, a tempest in human form.

As the confrontation unfolded, the guards and the women watched with a mix of awe and trepidation. The pieces of this intricate puzzle were beginning to fall into place, revealing a story far more complex than they had ever imagined.

Far from that place, her mother aura from far away comes and make Diaz's heart raced as he had been trying to avoid her. He silently hoped that his message had reached her, that she would understand his intentions.
