"Boss, I have got some information." Yang Chen who had just returned spoke excitedly. Without waiting for Lin Feng to speak he continued.
"Yesterday, the Bai clan went to the Lin clan to demand an answer. The Bai clan think that Lin clan purposefully set a trap to kill Bai Yun. However, the Lin clan refuted the accusations, stating they had not sent any elders to protect you. The Bai clan did not believe the Lin clan and openly attacked them but they were ultimately stopped by someone."
"Stopped by who?" Lin Feng asked.
"Marquis Chen interfered. He stopped the experts of the Bai clan." A voice responded. Both Lin Feng and Yang Chen looked at the entrance of the shop in surprise. It was Lin Fei, Lin Feng's cousin.
Without waiting for Lin Feng to respond she continued, "Grandfather sent me specifically ask you this. Do you have anything to do with Bai Yun's death?"
"No." Lin Feng responded with a frown.
"Fine then. Investigation is still going on but if you are responsible confess now." Lin Fei continued.
"You have been summoned back. Come in the evening." After saying that Lin Fei left.
Lin Feng twitched. Lin Fei was younger than Lin Feng but she was more arrogant. However, this normal. In this world power was respected.
Elsewhere, in a luxurious mansion in Voidgate city, many people had gathered. There were experts from both Lin and Bai clan present. Sitting in front of them was a man who looked in his thirties. The man had white hair and an amiable expression on his face. He had a calm and gentle aura around him, a stark contrast to the murderous aura of the Lin and Bai clan. This man was Marquis Chen, the city lord of Voidgate city. He started talking.
"Both of you, calm down please. There may be a peaceful way to solve this predicament."
An old man was sitting to the right of Marquis Chen. This was Bai Mo, the patriarch of Bai clan. He asked Marquis Chen a question.
"How do you propose we solve this peacefully? Marquis Chen needs to understand our sorrow. We merely wished for some answers from the Lin clan."
Lin Hao who was sitting on the left side of Marquis Chen responded to Bai Mo's statement, "Feng'er is not responsible for your son's death neither is the Lin clan." Both sides started arguing again.
Marquis Chen who appeared amiable until now released a threatening aura and spoke to both the sides.
"Gentlemen, if you respect my Chen family you must stop this at once and listen to me." Both sides immediately stopped and looked at Marquis Chen. He then took out an item from his space pocket. It was a strange hexagonal wooden disk inscribed with multiple magic circles, arrays, sigils and runes.
"This is an Epic grade item that was found by my ancestor in an inheritance realm. It's called World Searching Compass. This compass allows its user to search and deduce any type of magic that is used. It can deduce up to Tier 9 magic."
Marquis Chen proudly showed the compass to the astonished crowd.
Lin Hao calmly asked Marquis Chen, "May I know why Marquis Chen is showing this compass?"
Marquis Chen replied with a smile, "Of course. With this we will determine whether the perpetrator was really from the Lin clan."
