"Ms. Heureu, we need you to..."

"I'm awake. Don't worry!" I responded groggily, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. Though I had not had a single sleep last night, I had to act. "What's the matter?" I asked, trying to shake off the drowsiness that still lingered from the flight. 

The urgency in their voices made me realize that something serious must be happening. I quickly sat up in bed, fully alert now. The room was dimly lit, with the soft glow of the sun seeping through the curtains. As I reached for my glasses on the bedside table, my mind raced with the possibilities of what could be so urgent. My heart pounded in my chest—a mix of anticipation and anxiety.
