Chapter 23 - The Chevalier Siblings (2)

*********

The first young master, Altron Zerux Chevalier, the heir apparent for the Marquis (Grand Duke) noble title, aside from inheriting his father's noble title, he also held a position in the Lumen Academy as one of its instructors for the Knight Division Department for Military Theory and Strategies since he came from the Guardian household.

As for the second young master, Harrison Wynfred Chevalier, who should be the next-in-line, he gave up and let his elder brother take up the mantle and be the heir apparent.

As Harrison relinquished his rights as the next-in-line for their household's noble title, he took a different path and entered the Empire's Knight Army at the young age of 12 years old and he started from the bottom.

He worked hard to gain recognition from the people around him without taking advantage of his status as a Chevalier. After years of hard work and without relying on his family name, Harrison became the newest Knight Captain of the 10th Knight Squad and the youngest to be appointed as the Knight Captain within the entire army at the age of 17.

Not only that, but His Majesty, Emperor Stellarus granted him peerage as a Baron. Two years had passed since then, and because of his countless contributions as he served the Empire within those two years when he formally took up the position as the Knight Captain, his peerage rose from Baron to Count, and the Emperor granted him a land of his own.

And the last but not the least, the only daughter and the eldest young lady of the Chevalier household, Felicity Thoria Chevalier, a 17-year-old young lady, but her composure and demeanor is like those matured noblewomen because there's no sign of her immaturity and arrogance unlike those other spoiled, pampered young ladies on her age.

A young woman who held much more influence amongst her fellow peers and was also considered as a role model amongst her fellow aristocratic young noble ladies in her generation. Even some of the royal princesses would also follow her lead and would learn from her as well.

As someone from the Guardian household, it's not surprising for Felicity to become a swordswoman since she also possessed the Knight Warrior bloodline from their ancestors.

She wasn't aiming to become a swordsmaster like her father and two older brothers, as she only wanted to learn their family's swordsmanship so that she could also live up to the name of her ancestors.

Because of their own each individual status and influence within the noble society, no one dared to openly mock them because they were afraid of being humiliated in return. The three siblings had the support of not only their family name, but also their own standing within the noble society.

After all, they were officially a Grand Duke household masquerading as a Marquis.

However, there are some nobles who were really brave enough to confront them, like this one particular noble here, who suddenly went in front of the three Chevalier siblings with his mocking grin.

"So, how's the Marchioness, first young master Altron? Did she get a taste of her stepson's allure?"

'Okay, whose particular b*stard was this? To confront those three openly and mock them about the recent issue? Has this person insane or what?'

Most of the nobles who were present or within the area had some similar thoughts as they watched the scene in front of them. Most of them couldn't help but shook off their heads because of a certain idiotic noble who tried to provoke the three siblings about those unspoken truths about the Marchioness.

However, there are some of them who were just enjoying the show and waiting for an exciting drama that would happen.

'Wow! I applaud this no-name noble of whatever household he came from! His bravery for insulting the Marchioness right into our faces, especially calling out our elder brother with that mocking grin of his! ~~~'

Harrison thought as the second young master snickered and then, spoke with his usual carefree attitude; "Oh, what an interesting question you got there! Well, I am afraid that we couldn't give you an appropriate answer to that question of yours! ~~~"

The people around them chuckled at the second young master's, or much preferably, Count Harrison Wynfred Chevalier's statement because of his usual carefree personality that everyone knew and most of them knew the underlying meaning of those words he said.

As for the no-name noble, who's the receiving end of that statement, couldn't help but twitch in annoyance but as he was about to refute back when Harrison cut him off immediately.

" ..... Oh! How about this? Why not make an appointment with the Marchioness and ask her that question? Don't worry about being targeted by the Marchioness because your appearance isn't that much of a good-looking one so… you're safe! Fantastic, right? ~~~"

The surrounding audience couldn't help but laughed because of Harrison's statement and others make side comments and snickered at the no-name nobleman, who, as of the moment, couldn't stand the humiliation that he received and clenched his fists while glaring back at the source of his humiliation.

"Who was that, anyway?"

"Don't know. I think it's just dome low-rank noble from some Baron household…"

"I don't know where he got the guts to provoke the Chevalier siblings, especially calling out the first young master, as if they were close acquaintance…"

"So, another noble wannabe?"

"That no-name nobleman had it coming. He should be thankful since those siblings aren't that unreasonable beings who would just outright abuse their authority if they were being provoked in a slightest way."

"Yeah, right. That no-name nobleman seems like just an attention-seeker to me though…"

The audience whispered more as the no-name nobleman glared at the Chevalier siblings once more and the three siblings couldn't care less about his feelings since he brought this upon himself.

'Just because they were Chevaliers doesn't mean that people would blindly just follow and worship this egotistical household!'

He won't let himself be humiliated like this and was about to retort back when another voice interrupted him once again.

"With all due respect, "esteemed noble", we would like to excuse ourselves if there was nothing to be discussed here. Unlike someone at your station, me and my older siblings have important matters that needs to be addressed and couldn't waste our time talking with someone as "esteemed" as yourself, gentleman."
