Chereads / Hero Turned Ungodly / Chapter 2 - The "Great" Escape

Chapter 2 - The "Great" Escape

Elinor had a satisfied expression on her face and it made her content to know that Matthew wanted his rightful revenge as she had once had. She rose her voice up once Matthew seemed to be content with his rant.

"Well now that you know what you will become once we get back let's figure out how to get back. I have a couple of ideas but we should come up with new ones as well."

I looked back to Elinor and smiled blissfully standing up. Scanning the room for anything that could give us a clue to finding a way out.

"Didn't you make this area though, you seemed pretty knowledgeable about this area."

"I am to an extent there is only so much I can do without experimenting or actually doing it. I'm sure you wouldn't know but dying is very painful. So why should I do this unless I'm actually going to die? Anyway, the idea I came up with to escape is either wait for the energy to disappear which happens very slowly or overload it with mana but not be too hasty we could die and I'm sure it's more than 68% more likely if we do that."

"Really, it's low even though you made this."

I continued to walk around looking at the structure of the place noticing many inconsistencies with the sides, ceiling, and even floor. The ceiling didn't have as much energy as the walls meaning that even if we did wait it out the collapse of the room would be inconsistent and unpredictable.

"Hay what is this place made of it isn't anything I'm used to. Not mana, divine power, or even Ki so what is it Elinor."

She looked at me with a perplexed gaze.

"It's just a preservation chamber for us to put it into simple terms this is a very special type of magic called Barakah "

She laughed a little as I looked astonished and just straight perplexed by this discovery.

" I can barely say it myself after hearing it. So let's just call it Barkah (bar-kah) so how does it work? I've never heard of something like this in my life."

"I can tell Matthew so yes we can and how it works I honestly have very little that I know myself I can only make something like this from it. I found it out after experimenting with the soul energy which was extracted from a human and mixing it with lots of mana. It didn't seem like much just the same soul energy but it had lots of interaction with the material plane and soul plane where we are right now."

I digested the information little by little not even being fazed that a human life was used in the creation of this new mana called Barkah. After I formulated a plan I looked at Elinor's thinking as well.

"Well how do you use it I have an idea of what we can do. If you can tell me that is"

She looked at me with a nonchalant expression.

"Sure but tell me your plan first I'm making sure you don't do anything stupid and cause me to die with you."

I looked at her and gave up.

"Fine, you win. My plan was to harness the Barkeh and make a body out of it with our soul as the internal part so it'll function as a body without being a real one after all we cant go back to our bodies it is as you said I'm the hero who sided with the villain to gain power as the other heroes slain us to gain more fame and power."

She looked at me with a ridiculous expression before I went on

"And I don't want to know what happens when the barkah depletes in one area without a catalyst for us. I'm sure we will be stuck here forever if we don't have one so why don't we try it out its also better than waiting for it to disappear which could take years."

She replied a little mad.

"You don't want to be stuck here for a year with me a beautiful girl. Such a rude man you are Matthew many would kill to be in your position"

"Well now's their chance. No one. Well they lost their chance. Now give up the info now or do you want? Please oh great Elnor please give up the information to such a rude man as myself"

she laughed at me a little smiling.

"Guess so and no need to do that I never said it was bad to be rude and all you need to do is connect yourself with the souls of the Barkah. After you do that is to will it to do what you want I'm sure you know how to do that."

"Of course I do"

I sat down and exerted my mana feeling my Ki in my "body" sink out as my senses became sharper and my surrounding clearer than before I suppressed my divine energy almost locking it away as I extended my mana to the Barkah around me. Hearing the voices of the soul scream out in pain and anguish. Before my mana grabbed their attention. The souls looked at me before I started to pull the excess into my soul. Forcing them to bend to my will. Not having a single escape from my cold grasp of mana. The ones that resisted the control were put into more pain and hell as a smile crept over my face finding it fun to control these puny little souls. My body started to take the form of a ghost fake ribs showing through as a dark figure that no one can even call human appeared with a devilish smile. Having it fade to black With the eyes. The legs were unnatural having just bone wrapped in black course down ending at the feet which were covered in unnatural darkness before coursing its way up to the waist. A powerful and sturdy voice rang.

"It's done so are you coming or what. I know you're just a soul like the rest but you're tethered to me and know a lot of information so you're very valuable." I made my voice softer. "And I think you would like what I have in store for you."

She smiled and blushed a little

"If you can't live without me you can just say that and it better be nice in there or I'm leaving"

Her body started to become smaller and transparent before melting into the ribcage. The feeling was almost natural almost like I absorbed energy but I felt more at ease. Must be because I'm leaving this place though. Before anything could happen Matthew disappeared from the dark depths of death and lived again.
