Olivia's eyes fluttered open, and as she blinked away the remnants of sleep, her eyes swept around the room, taking in the appearance one more time. The memories of her previous encounters with Azriel flooded her mind. She couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions, from confusion to curiosity, and even a hint of fear. Her life had taken an unexpected turn into the world of demons, and she couldn't help but wonder what awaited her next.
As she sat up in the extravagant room, a single tear escaped her eye, tracing a path down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away, determined to stay strong in the face of uncertainty.
Just then, a soft knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
"Come in," Olivia called out, her voice tinged with that of apprehension. The door creaked open, revealing a demon maid standing there, holding a tray of delicious-looking food.
The maid greeted Olivia with a regal bow, her demeanor exuding an air of elegance and grace.
"Good morrow, Princess Olivia," the maid spoke in a respectful tone.
"I bring you a feast prepared by the command of Lord Azriel. He requests that you partake in this meal before his return." She replied with her head bowed and placed the meal down by the bedside.
'So his name is Azriel?'
Olivia thought.
Her stomach rumbled at the sight and aroma of the delectable dishes on the tray.
"How long have I been out?" Olivia asked warily in what seemed like a whisper.
"Two days Milady" the demon maid replied.
She realized that she hadn't had a bite of food for two days now.
Though she wouldn't die of starvation, she still needed to eat to remain in shape.
And though she still had her reservations, she couldn't resist the temptation of the food. With a nod of gratitude, she thanked the maid.
"Here your majesty, this token is what you get as one of the Lord's mistresses" the maid said and gave a red token to Olivia.
'One of the lord's mistresses?!'
Her eyes widened as she received the red token.
"You can use it to call for my presence, I'm your personal helper, Aquila"
The maid said and bowed before stepping out.
Olivia's heart sank, and a wave of disappointment washed over her. Being labeled as Azriel's mistress brought forth a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.
She couldn't help but feel a pang of what she couldn't identify and insecurity knowing that there were others in the same position.
It was a harsh reminder that their relationship was not exclusive. However, she understood that they weren't married, so the title was somewhat expected. Despite her inner turmoil, She kept quiet and turned to eat the food at the bedside table.
She finished the food and lay back down.
She felt sticky and decided it was time to have a bath. She took out the token and flipped it like Aquila had shown her.
Soon Aquila pushed the door open and walked in.
"Your grace, you sent for me?"
She said to Olivia with her head bow.
"I want to have a bath please" Olivia said to Her and the maid nodded before disappearing into the bathroom.
Soon she walked out and informed Olivia that her bathing water was ready.
She stood up and was guided into the bathroom by Aquila.
The awaiting steam from the water made her almost leap into it.
Once she had stripped down, feeling the weariness of her heart, sank into the warm embrace of the water, allowing its gentle caress to wash away her troubles. Aquila's deft hands and attentive presence made the experience all the more indulgent.
After the bath, Aquila guided Olivia through the process of dressing for the day. With a keen eye for elegance, she selected garments that accentuated Olivia's unique style and personality.
After getting ready, Aquila takes Olivia to see the garden in her chambers.
As they step into the garden, a gentle breeze rustles the leaves, creating a soothing melody. Olivia is mesmerized by the vibrant colors and delicate fragrances that fill the air.
As Olivia and Aquila strolled through the garden, their laughter danced in the air, mingling with the fragrance of blooming flowers. Olivia's heart swelled with curiosity about the unique bond she shared with her demon maid. With her fear of demons gradually dissipating, she summoned the courage to address the burning question that had been lingering in her mind.
"Aquila, I've noticed that demons and vampires aren't supposed to get along. Why do you treat me with such kindness, despite being a vampire?"
Aquila's eyes twinkled mischievously, and she graced Olivia with a warm smile.
"my dear princess, the world is full of surprises, isn't it? While it is true that demons and vampires have a history of animosity, not everything is as it appears. You see, I believe that true connections surpass the boundaries of species. Our friendship is built on understanding and acceptance, rather than conforming to societal expectations."
Olivia's curiosity deepened, and she leaned in closer, eager to understand.
"But Aquila, aren't you afraid of the judgment from other demons? Won't they frown upon your kindness towards a vampire?"
Aquila chuckled softly, her eyes radiating wisdom.
"Ah, my princess, I have learned that true strength lies in staying true to oneself, even when faced with opposition. While some demons may hold onto old grudges and prejudices, I choose to embrace compassion and break free from the chains of stereotypes. By doing so, I hope to inspire change and foster a world where understanding and acceptance prevail. Though your father stole from us, taking away the only thing that keeps our kingdom safe and prosperous, we can never take it out on you"
Olivia felt a surge of admiration for Aquila's courage and open-mindedness. Their friendship had become a testament to the power of transcending societal norms and finding genuine connections.
It was a norm that vampires and demons can't be friends or have anything to do with each other. But Aquila neglected it.
As they continued their leisurely walk through the gardens, Olivia realized that sometimes, the most extraordinary friendships are born from unexpected alliances. With each passing moment, her fear of demons waned.
"Am I the first vampire to be brought into hellothan?" Olivia suddenly asked as she sat on a bench to rest her aching legs from strolling so much.
"My Princess is not the first vampire to be brought here in hellothan, but it is true, You are the first vampire that Lord Azriel brought to stay in Hellothan. The others were unfortunately killed"
Olivia's eyes widened at her reply.
"They...were killed?"
