A knock came through at Olivia's door, she was standing in front of the window, her white dress flowing with the wind. She looked like a betrayed goddess with the tears which stained her delicate face.
Her long red wavy hair flowed down like a curtain, also flying in the wind. She looked vulnerable and weak.
"Come in," she said, her voice cold, the winter outside adding to her anxiety.
The door flung open, and in walked one of Azriel's men, Atticus. He greeted Olivia with a bow, saying,
"Greetings, My Princess."
However, Olivia paid him no attention, not caring about his deep voice or his presence.
"Are you alright, Your Majesty?" Atticus asked, concerned by her lack of response. He wondered what could be troubling her.
They had been waiting in the meeting room for a long time, and since Azriel had not returned, Atticus assumed he wouldn't be coming back.
He came in search of Azriel, only to be met with Olivia's cold voice and aloof demeanor.
"Yes,"
she replied shortly, further deepening his concern.
Atticus didn't know much about women, nor did he care, but he knew that Olivia, being a vampire in demon territory, was a pampered princess. He feared she wouldn't be able to cope in Hellothan.
So he cared a little. Besides, this was Azriel's woman, and Azriel had been smiling frequently ever since she arrived.
"I want to leave."
Her sudden statement made him freeze. She wanted to escape? Didn't she know about the truce?
"My Princess, what do you mean?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Olivia slowly turned with a creased brow. "Who are you?" she questioned him instead.
"I'm Atticus, sorry for being rude, Milady," he replied with an embarrassed smile, lowering his gaze. "I'm one of Lord Azriel's men."
Olivia's eyes widened a bit in fear. She had just told him she wanted to escape. Oh no! What if he told Azriel?
As if seeing her thoughts, Atticus waved his hands. "No, My Princess, I won't say a thing to Lord Azriel."
Hearing it from him, she sighed heavily in relief.
"Why are you here?" she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
Atticus, taken aback by Olivia's question, replies, "I came here to find Lord Azriel. But when I saw you looking so downcast, I couldn't help but feel concerned"
"Unfortunately, Azriel is currently in his harem." Olivia's eyes was filled with sadness as she musters a bitter smile, realizing that her hopes of finding solace in Azriel have been shattered.
She must be stupid to think that.
Atticus, startled by Olivia's words, stammers, "I... I'm sorry, I didn't know. Yes, We did see him coming to your room, but Lord Azriel... he... he often visits his harem. It's... it's a complicated situation." Atticus's voice trails off, realizing that his explanation isn't making things any clearer.
Olivia, with a bitter smile, waved Atticus off as he turned to leave the room. But just as he was about to exit, she couldn't help but shout, "Wait!" Startled, Atticus stopped in his tracks and quickly turned back, bowing and addressing her as "my princess."
Olivia seized the moment and asked, "I heard there's a competition coming up in Hellothan"
Atticus, taken aback by her sudden question, nods and responds, "Yes, my princess."
Olivia, beaming with enthusiasm, politely asks,
"Would it be possible for me to trouble you with a request? I was wondering if you could kindly provide me with guidance and training, as I have a strong desire to partake in the upcoming competition. Your expertise would be incredibly valuable to me."
Atticus, taken aback by her sudden request, his eyes widening in surprise, hesitated. He knew that teaching her might not align with Azriel's wishes, and he also had doubts about her ability to participate in the competition.
However, he refrained from expressing these thoughts aloud, as he dared not.
"Princess, I apologize, but I'm unable to fulfill your request as it's too risky. The Lord's approval is necessary"
Atticus swiftly exited the room afterward.
She let out a deep sigh, sinking back onto her bed in silence. Lost in her thoughts, it seemed as if she had disconnected from the world, as if her spirit had departed.
'Why can't I just participate in this competition? I'm not that feeble!'
She pondered her options, realizing that solely relying on self-training might not be sufficient.
She contemplated what other possibilities lay before her, unsure of the best course of action.
Olivia groaned slightly, gently rubbing her forehead, hoping for an idea to pop into her head.
But alas, her mind remained blank, with no solution in sight.
She muttered "stupid head" under her breath, feeling frustrated and unable to come up with a solution.
She glanced at the door, curiosity piqued. The allure of exploring the palace's hallway beckoned to her.
Tired of the monotony of her room, she mustered the courage to take a step forward towards the door.
With a determined grip, she pulled the handle of the door, eager to get out of the room.
She couldn't believe her luck! The door was actually open! She felt like jumping up and cheering in excitement.
With her excitement contained, she opened the door and stepped into the dimly lit corridor.
She glanced left and right, relieved to find the hallways empty. As she heard noises from the right, she tiptoed cautiously towards the left.
As she cautiously made her way to the left, she couldn't help but feel a rush of adrenaline. The sound coming from the right only added to the intrigue of her adventure.
Her heart skipped a beat as she heard a sweet feminine voice coming from up ahead. Fear gripped her, causing her to freeze in place.
Without much thought, she hurriedly scanned her surroundings, desperately searching for a hiding spot.
Just as she found a place to hide, she quickly ran over and squatted down, covering her mouth. Two figures emerged from the dark.
Olivia was taken aback as she observed a couple embracing in the dimly lit hallways of Azriel's palace. It was a surprising sight for her, as she had never expected to witness such romance in a place that always held an air of mystery.
Olivia's surprise grew as she took another glance, only to realize that the woman was not embracing the man romantically. Instead, she was throwing herself onto him while he remained motionless, lost in his own thoughts. The scene became even more puzzling for Olivia.
Olivia's heart skipped a beat as she tried to retreat, but her movements froze when she heard the woman's voice.
"Don't you want me anymore, huh, Lord Azriel?" the woman questioned, her tone filled with sweet melodies and fake hurt.
Azriel? Did she say Azriel?
Olivia's frozen being tingled as she heard the name "Azriel" escape the woman's lips. Olivia's lips trembled uncontrollably.
Azriel was with indeed with his Mistress.
Tears began to pool in her eyes when she subconsciously glanced at the woman with the sweet voice.
The air seemed to grow hotter as Olivia couldn't help but notice the woman's undeniable allure. She exuded a captivating presence that left Olivia unable to look away.
No wonder he was with her. She was indeed beautiful beyond words.
Lady Seraphina trailed her hands on Azriel's chest as she smiled sweetly at him.
"Come My Lord, let me make you happy" she spoke softly in his ear and pulled him slowly towards her chambers.
Azriel followed behind her and let her pull him in.
Olivia's heart shook uncontrollably and her legs gave up on her.
