While we were watching the movie Scarlette fell asleep on my shoulder. I told Tomus that it was getting late and that I was going to take Scarlette. "She's not going to wake up is she?" Tomus asked me. "I don't think so, I'll carry her home. You can come with me because the skateboard has to be at her place too." Tomus grabbed the skateboard while I grabbed Scarlette from the couch.
When we started walking to Scarlette's house no one had said a thing. Then Tomus started talking. "You're lucky," he said. "What do you mean I'm lucky," I asked, confused. "I'm talking about Scarlette. I have had a crush on Scarlette since middle school. Scarlette was new at school. I helped her get around at school. I was her first friend at school. She told me at her last school she didn't have any friends. She was happy that she'd moved. We were very close, I was there for her when she needed me. But, I'm glad that Scarlette is happy. She hasn't been happy like this since we became best friends," Tomus said.
I looked down at Scarlette in my arms then looked at Tomus. Tomus looked at me concerned. "Is everything alright, what I told you will ruin our friendship?" he still looked at me. "No..." I started when we arrived at Scarlette's house. Tomus grabbed the key from under the mat. Tomus got the door unlocked and we went inside then walked upstairs to put Scarlette to bed. Tomus put Scarlette's skateboard near her bed.
I placed Scarlette on the bed gently so that I wouldn't wake her. I took her shoes off and put a blanket over her. Tomus and I backed away from the bed towards the door. Then Scarlette woke up, she asked how she got into her room. So Tomus and I told her she fell asleep while watching a movie and we brought her home. "Where's my skateboard?" she asked. "It's near your bed," Tomus said. We came closer to Scarlette and told her that we needed to go. So we gave her a hug and left the house. We walked to our houses to get some sleep.
The next day I saw Tomus in the library and then he saw me. So he came up to me and said that we needed to talk. Tomus and I found an empty table to sit at so that we could talk. We sat down then Tomus told me that I never finished what I was saying last night. "Oh right, what I was saying last night was no it not going to ruin our friendship. Sometimes I feel like Scarlette has a crush on you," I said to Tomus. "What?" Tomus said, confused. "I see the way she looks at you sometimes," I said feeling sad. "Scarlette talks about you all the time, she loves y…" Tomus stops talking. "Scarlette loves me?" I said in shock. "Yeah, she loves you, man," Tomus said smiling.
I grabbed my books then got up and rushed out of the library to go to Scarlette's house. I went through her backyard. Then climbed up a tree to get to her bedroom window. When I got to Scarlette's bedroom window, which was open, I saw her reading. I rushed through the window. "Hi, what are…" Before she could finish her sentence I grabbed her. My arms round her waist, Scarlette's hands, and my chest. I kissed her on her lips. It was a gentle kiss. I backed my head away. "I love you," said to her. Scarlette's eyes widen and her face turned red "I love you too!" she said smiling. She put one of her arms around my neck and the other on the side of my face. I told Scarlette to sit down. She sat down then I sat down right next to her.
I told Scarlette that Tomus and I had a talk last night. "Tomus told me that he has had feelings for you since middle school," I said. "That doesn't bother you that your best friend has feelings for me?" She asked, confused. "No it doesn't bother me, I know that he won't do anything," I said. "That is true, Tomus is a loyal friend," Scarlette said, smiling but being serious. "Sometimes I think that you have feelings for Tomus," I said looking down at my hands. "I do have feelings for Tomus, but I don't want to be with anyone else," she said, grabbing my hand. "I want to be with you," she continued, "You're not like anyone I've ever met." Scarlette asked, "Do you ever think about where our relationship will end up in the future?"
Before I could say anything I got a call from Tomus asking why I rushed out of the library. I told him that I went to Scarlette's house. "I'm on my way," Tomus said on the phone call, then hung up the phone. Tomus was outside in the backyard of Scarlette's bedroom window. He climbed up the tree near the bedroom window and got in the room. "Hey guys, did I interrupt anything?" he asked. "No you didn't interrupt anything," she said. Then Scarlette left the bedroom. "Did you tell Scarlette that you love her?" Tomus asked me excitedly, smiling at me.
"Yes, I did tell her that I love her. When I told her I made her blush and her eyes widened," I told Tomus. Scarlette came back into the room with some snacks and drinks. She grabbed her laptop off her desk and sat on the bed looking serious or worried, I couldn't really tell. "Are you alright," I asked Scarlette. "Yeah I just forgot to do my homework," she replied. "Do you need help with it?" I asked, looking over the laptop and Scarlette.
Scarlette looked up at me and smiled. "No, but can you help me with something later?" she said. "Yeah I can do that for you," I said smiling. I knew what she meant, kissing her on the neck. "Y'all know that I'm still here right," Tomus said looking at us with a disturbed look on his face. "Sorry,"
Scarlette said to Tomus. "What do y'all want to do today that we all can do?" Tomus asked. "We all can do it," Scarlette said. Tomus and I stared at each other, our eyes widened then we looked at Scarlette. Scarlette looked up at me and Tomus, "Chill guys it was a joke I didn't actually mean it." Scarlette said concerned about me and Tomus's reaction. Scarlette moved the laptop aside then got off the bed and towards Tomus. She grabbed Tomus's hand and then left the bedroom.
