In a room, there was a young nineteen-year-old woman standing in front of a mirror with her mother fixing her make-up. She has stunning reddish-orange hair that goes to her back that is pulled into a high ponytail that is curly at the end. She was wearing a beautiful white wedding dress with a pearl necklace to compliment it.
Even though it was an amazing occasion, there was one thing that was wrong with the image. This young woman is a man.
The teen's face was twisted into a scowl at the sight of himself in the mirror. The muscular reputation that he was trying to uphold was removed by some well place makeup and a wig. 'If anybody ever connects me to this wedding, I think I might die in shame.'
"Stay still," A middle age woman with blond hair that has a few stands of gray pulled into a bun demanded as she stepped back and took in her handy work. "Not too bad, huh? This old woman can still turn a monkey into a princess."
'Did mom call me a monkey?' The teenage boy wondered to himself as he side-eyed his mother who beginning to tear up from her handiwork. It was almost like she had completely forgotten the reason why they were doing this in the first place.
"I still cannot believe that I am doing this," The teen groans in despair as he made an attempt to run a hand through his hair. Only to flinch when his mom slapped his hand away.
"Be careful Adam!" His mother snapped at him. "Do not mess up my hard work!"
"…Sorry." Adam mutters his breath before turning away from the mirror. 'More of my pride might fall apart if I keep looking at it.'
Knock...Knock....Knock
"Ma'am it is time for the lucky lady to meet her husband." The excitement in the young lady's voice made Adam cringe.
"WE ARE COMING!!" His mother shouted before shooting a warning glare at Adam, to which he simply rolled his eyes in response. She handed him the bouquet of flowers.
"Adam"
"I know, I know. I will not mess this up, Mom." Adam stated as he brushed off his warning. 'I am not like Eleanor.'
Adam pushes down his sorrow and huffed out his chest to let the fake breast pop out more, he is ready to put on the show of his life and take his ultimate prize: Money.
Hooking his arm around his mother, he allows his mother to take the lead toward the wedding ceremony. He closed his eyes for a moment as the sun shine down on him before opening his eyes to see all the people staring at them. The left side of his mouth twitched as he tried to keep on smiling when he saw the fake smiles that they had.
'It's more plastic than mine,' Adam thought as the soft music begin to play as he walk down the ale slowly. The scenery was beautiful, the sun was setting behind the trees creating a beautiful ray of orange, red, and yellow. The white carpet that he was walking on had soft pink petals spread across it, just the way the real bride will like it.
As he grows closer to the groom, he could not help but be stunned at how gorgeous he looks.
'Oh, he's handsome.' Adam thought to himself in awe as he felt his cheeks heating up as he could not help but look him over. The groom was taller than him with light brown skin, short wild black hair, and honey-brown eyes.
When the man's grin grew wider when Adam got to him, making the scar under his chin more defined.
"Welcome, loved ones. We are gathered here today to join Eleanor Wilson and Gabriel Redwood in holy matrimony under the eyes of Goddess Maria. Will the lovely couple please exchange their vows?"
"Eleanor Wilson, as your lawful husband I promise to always protect you, be with you during sickness and health. And that every day would be as exciting as the first day, you will not regret choosing me to be your husband."
'So his name is Gabriel,' Adam mused taking note of the fact that his words sound like it been rehearsed a thousand times.
"Ms. Wilson?" The wedding officiant asked as he farrow his eyebrows when the woman did not say her vows yet.
Adam felt a little embarrassed when he realized it was his turn to speak. He apologized in a slightly higher-pitched voice and said, "I'm sorry, I was just admiring how good-looking my husband is."
Gabriel laugh feeling flattered about the compliment, however, the audience was not amused by this. Instead there was whispering going along among them, making Adam feel a little bit awkward about the whole ordeal.
'Don't pay attention to them, they are just jealous of the wealth that I am going to marry into.' Adam thought to himself in attempt to calm down his nerves. Adam opens his mouth and sprouts out anything to help make it sound nice.
"Gabriel Redwood, I promise you that as your wife. I will always stay by your side and cheer you on through your successes," Adam lied as he prick his inner palm that was still hidden within the bouquet to make himself tear up. "Every day and for the rest of my life I will work hard to make you happy and ensure that the children that we will bring forth in the future will be just as healthy and happy as you will make me."
For a second surprise had flickered across his face before it fade away from view. It was not enough for anybody but Adam to pick up.
'Surprise by my 'loving' declaration, I know sometimes I surprise myself too.' Adam thought smugly.
"I pronounce this couple as husband and wife, the husband may now kiss the bride."
Gabriel's eyes lit up as he stepped closer and pulled him close more than ready to seal the deal.
Adam's heart skips a beat as the part that he dreaded the most had come, taking a deep breath he closes his eyes and pucker his lips. He thought that it was going to be rough and dried like how expected most guys would be only to be proven wrong.
'It's so soft.' Adam thought as he felt the man's soft warm lips pressed against his lightly before they went away making him slightly long for more.
'W-What the heck am I thinking!?' Adam thought to himself confused and panicked internally. On the outside though, he was still smiling but his eyes become blank as his mind was having a mental crisis.
"You are now Mrs. and Mr. Redwood," The wedding officiant said as he closed the book and step back to allow the married couple to get some room. "Now let's all cheer for this married couple and send blessings for their journey to come."
Everybody stood up and clapped to congratulate among them was Adam's mom. Who was crying tears of joy.
'It does not matter if this is just a scam,' Adam's mom, Annabelle, thought as she wipe her eyes with a handkerchief. 'It is nice to see at least one of my children actually get married. Ah, what a wonderful time to be alive.'
Noticing how Adam was frozen in place, Gabriel had picked him up bridal style causing a yep to come out of the redhead's lips and start walking down the ale. Occasionally he had to stop and shifted his body in one arm to shake a person's hand before continuing his way towards his way towards the carriage. During this whole progress, Adam kept his head buried in his shoulder not wanting strangers to see his face.
'This is so embarrassing, am I really that light?' Adam wonder as could not help but want this day to end. When they got to the carriage, he decided to pretend to be asleep to avoid talking to Gabriel.
Leading in, Gabriel had to carefully place him inside before he went inside himself, he gave the crowd one final wave before leaving.
In the distance away from the crowd, a pair of siblings that was near the back watched the whole scene play out.
"He manages to actually get married." The woman mused, she have short black hair that was styled in a bob and onyx eyes that reflect mild annoyance at the whole situation. She swirls the wine glass in her hand watching as the carriage got further and further away.
. "How long do you think they will last?"
"Does it matter?" The man asked as he lit up a cigarette, his dull onyx eyes had a small twinkle to them as he look up at the birds. "In the end, his plan will fail as it has always done before. Let's go we still have things to do."
Without the crowd noticing, they had left. Plans on what to do now thanks to the unexpected event were already circling through his head.
