"No, I'm not what you say I am," said Carver
"What do you mean?" Violet asked.
Carver exhaled slowly, opening his mouth slowly without being able to say an answer. His voice was full of doubt as he wanted to answer according to his current feelings.
Carver couldn't answer at all, soon his mouth closed again and fell silent again. Actually he wanted to answer the truth, but the answer was suddenly muted.
Violeth took a step back. "You must want to answer if you don't have me in your heart, right?"
"But do you also feel the same way about me?" asked Carver turning the question around.
"Feeling love you mean?"
Carver nodded his head.
"No, I don't love you at all." Violeth narrowed her eyes as she folded her arms across her chest, deceiving herself.
Violeth turned her body backwards. Step closer to the entrance. "I'm waiting for you inside, we'll take a shower together."
Carver looked at Violeth who left him, while saying an invitation to take a bath together.
His mouth opened slowly to say something. "I don't regret this marriage, I hope to be your husband forever. You know what I mean right?"
Violeth stopped as she stomped her foot, her face changing after hearing those words that touched her heart. "What did you say?"
"You don't understand yet?" Carver raised an eyebrow when Violeth asked and turned to him.
"Speak properly! I don't like what you're saying...."
"Hmm, you don't know what I mean?" Carver came over and hugged Violeth. A warm hug full of love.
"Don't hug me if you're just using it to distract!" Violeth pulled away and broke away.
Violeth was two steps inside the house and out of the pond garden, but still close to Carver.
"Very insensitive," said Carver.
Violeth turned to Carver. "What do you mean, Carver? I don't know."
"I'm starting to love you...." Carver answered in a trance after responding to Violeth.
Violeth's gaze changed drastically when Carver said something that made her seem so precious and important.
"Are you kidding me? I really don't like people who like to joke," Violeth said.
"I don't like people who like to joke either." Carver spoke convincingly.
"You?"
"Yes."
Violeth approached Carver, her steps were slow but sure, mixed with doubts whether Carver's words were true or not.
"You said that seriously?" he asked.
"Yes, Violeth. But even if you don't feel what I feel, I'm not forcing you to feel what I do," Carver replied.
Carver felt something very uncomfortable after telling him honestly what was on his heart.
Violeth herself misunderstood Carver's intentions, she thought that Carver was only joking to lure Violeth to tell the truth. To think that Carver said that only because he was forced to tell the truth about his true feelings.
"I have to go to my room," Violeth said.
Carver watched Violeth as she walked away. Her gaze radiated from head to toe showing the perfection of Violeth's body as she stepped rhythmically away from that place.
"It's like I'm the only one who feels something for Violeth, but she doesn't feel the same way at all. I'm an idiot," Carver said holding his head, unsure of what to do.
In the bedroom....
Violeth slowly walked towards the mirror. Just then she stopped and looked at herself in the reflection of the large mirror where she used to dress up to look beautiful.
Carver's words make Violeth want to confess her true feelings. But somehow he felt bad and even thought Carver was just lying to him.
Her slender fingers brushed against the table which had a few items to enhance her features. "Should I be honest about how I feel right now? But what if it turns out to be Carver who lied? I would be embarrassed to tell the truth."
Violeth pondered for a long time in front of the mirror while playing with a nearby chair. Her gaze fell on the mirror that reflected her pretty face.
"I'd better not tell the truth and pretend what Carver said was a lie," Violeth said.
*********
At the company Leopard Company....
Jackson sat in his chair as CEO of the company Leopard Enterprise.
A laptop shows data on the benefits accruing from an increasing number of projects.
From the doorway, there was a few knocks.
Richard was seen opening the door of his leader's room after getting permission to enter the room.
Richard shifted a chair, then sat down in that place. "This is beyond my expectations, Mr. Jackson."
Hearing that, Jackson turned towards Richard who had just said something. "Guess what?"
"Young Master Carver lives in a very stately home," said Richard.
Jackson immediately closed his laptop after hearing the news about his son. It was news he had been waiting to find out exactly what made Carver refuse to live with him and refuse to inherit the Leopard Enterprise.
"What a mansion? Isn't Carver just a street vendor? You should find out where he trades and let him come back! Not saying something so contradictory." Jackson did not believe Richard's statement.
If anything feels so at odds with Carver's life as a street vendor. There's no way Carver lives in a big house either.
"This is all unbelievable, Mr. Jackson. I sent two of the greatest spies and told them that Young Master Carver was in the stately home with a lady." Richard spoke reassuringly. "But is that woman the woman I saw at the mall..."
"Women? No kidding, Richard! And did your spies actually see Carver with a woman in that stately home?" asked Jackson to be sure.
"That's right, sir. I've even seen it myself, Young Master Carver with a lady from the mall and driving quite a fancy car," Richard added, very sure of what he was seeing.
Jackson stopped to stare at Richard.
Richard also silently looked at Jackson, who seemed to be thinking about something.
"Or maybe..." Richard stopped himself.
Jackson glanced at Richard after hearing those words. "Could that be what you mean?"
Richard shifted his seat comfortably. "As we all know... where Young Master Carver refuses to be engaged to Clara."
"So?" asked Jackson wanting to know more.
"What Clara lacks...she is beautiful and smart. But somehow Young Master Carver refuses," continued Richard.
Jackson shifted the laptop aside so his hands rested peacefully on the table as he listened to Richard's explanation.
"There are suspicions, Mr. Jackson." Richard concluded with a few conjectures that he suspected. "It could be that the beautiful woman I saw was Young Master Carver's girlfriend."
"Wait a minute! You mean Carver has a girlfriend?" he asked.
"Yes sir. It could happen because Young Master Carver is so handsome, no doubt rich women would be attracted to him," Richard replied.
Jackson smiled as he leaned against the back of a large chair with his arms folded. "Hmm, of course Carver is handsome and easily attracts women. Because his father is also very handsome."
Richard looked at Jackson who was praising himself.
"And secondly, it could be Young Master Carver...." Richard stopped himself.
