Chapter 7 - Hunt and battle against a Snake

After the roar of the great dragon, my father looked at me and my brothers with intent before letting out a low growl, despite that I could instinctively understand its meaning.

"Hunt!" After saying that, I looked at my two brothers who seemed excited at this order.

'Hunt, but what exactly? Is there a criterion for what we will hunt?' Faced with my mental questions, our father simply lay down on the ground and closed his eyes to rest.

He seemed to have no interest in giving us more details and was just waiting for us to bring him something.

Before my thoughts, Blue and Yellow seemed not to think so much, their expressions were excited about the hunt.

Without saying any words or a simple noise in general, Blue went to the part of the forest that had not yet been destroyed.

As for Yellow, well he did the same, and in the process I just sat there not knowing which direction to go.

I turned my head and saw my father who was sleeping without any worries.

"I guess I have no choice, I'll have to Hunt."

With that said I chose a random direction and started walking, all the while staying on a path that would be easy to follow in case of a battle in which I couldn't win.

My strategy was simple, as a normal Ex-human, my hunting skills were useless at best, so if I walk in a straight line I will eventually find something.

As I continued my straight path I could hear the sound of a nearby stream.

'This is perfect. If there is water it means there will be dams' and with that I changed my direction a little to where I heard the stream.

After walking for several seconds I arrived at the stream which was a fairly simple one, like any other stream on earth.

Many large stones, and others suspended over smaller ones in an unstable manner, along with that the crystal clear water gave a relaxing sensation.

Even though the sky was purple and the trees were dry, I couldn't imagine that the trees were full of life and the singing of birds.

All of this would be incredibly beautiful if the landscape weren't so bad.

A soft breeze hit my scaly body full of scales causing a slight shiver.

I don't know how long I stayed there looking at that landscape but I guess it was about an hour or so.

When I came to myself I heard the sound of something dragging on the ground.

I quickly turned my head seeing a fairly large species of snake, I would say it was around 5 meters long, something that was undoubtedly massive even for me who was only one meter tall.

This snake had a dark green color with dorsal eyes, along with that its serpentine tongue protruded from its mouth capturing aromas of possible prey.

This snake stopped a few meters from my side while it began to rise, showing sharp fangs as it opened its jaw.

'So I'll fight a snake, huh?' I thought somewhat excitedly as I stood up taking a battle stance.

Without needing anything as trivial as advance preparation, the snake lunged in my direction at great speed.

His big mouth ready to devour me whole and his body ready to crush my bones.

Despite its imposing appearance, I did not let myself be carried away by fear and immediately began to run to the opposite side where the snake attacked.

The snake was disconcerted by not feeling anything and only tasting the wind.

Taking advantage of his confusion, I run to the middle part of the body.

After getting close enough, I used my Claws, launching a claw with all my strength.

My Claws were incredibly hard so they left a considerable mark on the snake's skin.

He let out an audible Hiss of pain, while his body trembled helplessly, in agony.

Seeing this I smiled showing my sharp fangs.

After a few seconds the large snake stopped wriggling and turned quickly, heading in my direction.

After anticipating that movement, I jumped to one side, although not against the tail of the same berry in the opposite direction, hitting me squarely with great force.

My body was thrown into the stream where, upon landing on my back, I recomposed myself and ran ahead, avoiding the mouth of the mountain.

It didn't stop and began to move throughout the stream with a clear instinct to kill me coming out of its yellow eyes.

After jumping ahead, I stopped on a large rock watching as the snake continued heading in my direction.

Using my tail I threw several smaller stones with force into the Monster's face, hitting it squarely, but the damage was minimal.

Faced with my attack, the snake became angrier and increased its speed.

Knowing it wouldn't be fast enough I jumped ahead ready to face it head on.

The snake opened its mouth and raised its body to attack from above. Thanks to this action he gave me a gap.

Bending down, my head collided with his abdomen, causing him to fall backwards.

Not giving him time to react I bit his abdomen hard, tearing the flesh in the process while using my claws to generate more damage.

Faced with this, the snake could do nothing but hiss in incessant pain while its body was grabbed.

After one last bite, the snake's body remained motionless while its red blood spread across the stream, a sign of its death.

Even without trusting me, I slowly approached his head and gave him another mortal wound to finish things off.

He wasn't stupid enough to trust me that he was dead, first make sure that if he is dead and even if he dies don't trust yourself and keep your guard up.

Climbing down from the body of the large snake, he bit its tail while I began to drag it to the edge of the stream, where I planned to rest a little before taking it to where father was.
