He thought dinner was supposed to be great. He believed it should smoothly flow like a breeze. But so far, he felt distracted and slightly awkward.
He was supposed to treat this like any other date he had. But something at the back of his head reminded him that it was not. Nothing about this date was his usual.
"I hope you like the food." He knew this restaurant offered one of the best dishes in the city.
It was highly recommended to him by a friend. From the price per plate, it must be. But he hardly tasted anything he had put in his mouth. Again, his mind was elsewhere.
"It is a newly opened place. I thought you might like the food and the ambiance." He refilled his almost empty glass of the finest wine the restaurant could offer and replenished her glass, too.
Of course, he dined and wined the women he went out with. It was not like he paid for their company and services. Therefore, the least he could do was treat them well.
