The walls suddenly became extra thick as sharpened spikes appeared everywhere, as did catapults, buckets of boiling oil, and thousands of soldiers. It was enough to keep the enemy at bay, granting us more time.

It was a little strange, having an entire nation so close to us yet not on a conventional map. I spent the days in my tower, preparing a solution. I had figured out that my magic-nullifying amulet wasn't a trap for mages, but rather it had loosened the planar seal, melting a way into the other world by accident. I suspected that if I could get my hands on the amulet again, I could seal the planes shut for good.
I was a little worried that the Enchantment might not hold on the other side, but it did. He returned a few weeks later with all of my belongings.

With the amulet in my hands once again, I rushed back to my tower. I spent a few weeks preparing the spell before I cast it. The amulet flared brightly once again as the holes between the worlds snapped shut. The remains of the army were trapped on our side for good. The war was over.
The time I had spent as a pitfighter and a soldier had taught me many things. I recruited the men I knew from the captured prisoners. With all connection to their homeland gone, they pledged allegiance to the crown and to me. They would make excellent soldiers.

Although I had wanted to spend time with my friends and family, there was a lot to do in those first few months after the Planewar ended. Besides the rebuilding, there were still thousands of Vallorn citizens stuck in Daria.
It was bloody work, but I felt that I couldn't trust an entire army within our borders. The Vallorn were brave; they didn't cry out, and they didn't try to run away.

Unfortunately, King Eric had not been idle while I was gone. Without my support, his madness had gotten even worse. He still wasn't as bad as his father, but his peculiar tendencies had caused some trouble in my absence. To my surprise, I learned that he had commissioned an enormous statue of myself! It was a huge bronze monstrosity. I looked through the kingdom treasury with dismay; things did not look good. To make matters worse, he had demanded tribute from the other nations in order to create the structure.
