All it takes is a two minute call for Shawnie to get the green light. You're not surprised. She howled, spoke to you, and openly chatted with the Alpha, letting him know about her pack and their intentions. Only a super isolationist pack would turn her away.
About two seconds after Shawnie hangs up, your phone buzzes. You check it, though you already know what you're going to see. Sure enough, there is a new message from the Alpha in the pack's group chat.
Visitor in town. Permission to enter sought and granted. So don't freak out if you smell someone strange. Looking at you Marco.
Marco's response pops up a moment later. hey...
Shawnie's already climbing back onto her bike and buckling her helmet in place, making a point of leaving the face shield up.
"Thanks so much guys! Happy new moon! Oh, and here," she pulls a small card out of her bra and hands it to Nikolas... who is noticeably redder than he'd been a moment before. "Get your Alpha to call my Alpha. We can have a meet up! Two packs, one pub."
Her gaze finds you. "I'd love to get to know you all a bit more." She winks.
"Eh... sure," Nikolas says. "I'll give this to the Alpha."
Shawnie grins, kicks the bike into gear, and disappears down the road with a wave.
For a few seconds no one says anything. Finally...
"Wow," you mutter.
Vicky glances at you. "Want to follow?"
"The Alpha said not to bother her," Nikolas points out.
"I didn't say bother," Vicky grunts. "Just... follow... from a distance."
"I won't tell," Sergi mutters.
The wolf in you wants to do it. You want to stalk the stranger, follow her, protect your pack and your territory... even though the rational human part of your brain knows that it's probably a waste of time... not to mention creepy as hell.
But on the other hand, it was pretty normal for a stranger to be escorted through pack land.
Fuck it. You're a person, not a wolf. Your instincts don't control you... but... still...
