Vicky chews her bottom lip, clearly fighting down her own instincts, but nods. "Fine... but I need to run."
"Make it a race?"
She scoffs, but pivots towards the den and starts sprinting.
You grin and follow.

You're sitting in the back seat of Vicky's car, parked on the edge of the highway, all the windows rolled down.
It's cold.
It's too fucking cold.
You're also pretty sure it's going to rain. The air is heavy with the promise of it.
Ed is in the seat beside you, tapping furiously at his phone. Marco is in the front passenger seat, flicking absently at his lighter, the snick snick snick the only sound besides the rumble of traffic and the intermittent whistle of wind. Vicky is leaning across the steering wheel, studying the stream of headlights flowing steadily by.
Above you, ducking in and out of the clouds, is the moon. Small, skinny, but there, its voice far away but frantic in your ears. ...huntbiteriptearkill....
Marco's dropped the sun visor so he doesn't have to look at it. Vicky hasn't.
