"Why will he make such a statement to me, doesn't he know how professional I am or was he just kidding? But no, why would he be kidding around a serious discussion? Everything is a bit confusing right now."
"Alice are you there" Theo helped her snap out of her thoughts. "What have you been thinking about, that got you all tense and blocked from the outside world for crying out loud.?"Only looking at Alice's serious face while she was thinking away made Theo anxious.
"What would make her not hear me for over the past few minutes that I have been calling onto her"Theo couldn't help but thought for a while"Maybe she has another issue about her mom, Let it not be"
"Alice, when was the last time you spoke to your mom and how is she doing.?"Theo had to ask to be sure of what was on her mind.
Alice was a bit cut unaware by the sudden question from Theo. Nevertheless knowing that Theo was the last person on earth to ask about her mom, despite the fact of how hurtful it becomes for her whenever she remembers or gets a call from her mom.
"It's been a while since I spoke to her, why do you ask.?" Alice looked straight at Theo's face while waiting for a reply.
"No, don't give me that mean look I was just trying to lay my thinking on your thoughts, thoughts that seized you out of the physical world. Didn't you notice how indulged you were a few minutes ago?"Theo made an effort to explain himself to her.
"Theo, let's forget about me and get the food ready, I am so hungry," Alice stated and left to take a shower and get changed into something warm and comfy enough.
Alice bangs her portico so hard that someone down the stairs can even get a heartache from the sound. Got straight into her bathroom, had a warm shower, and wore sweatpants with a big poppy top which made her look a bit shabby but nice.
She was down the stairs already after a few glances at the mirror and satisfied with what she was putting on.
"Theo, I am right here please," she announced to Theo. He approached her immediately to ask.
"Why don't we have an outdoor dinner? What do you say to that.?"
"Sounds great."She moved straight out to the aisle to set the plateau, and Theo came along with the cutleries and other stuff.
Dinner was served later on, so Theo and Alice sat and ate together. At first, the table was a bit silent but Theo brought up some chit chat which they talked and laughed about all through the time they ate.
"So what are you going to do about your longest-term marriage with Valantino.?" Theo decided to switch the topic so they can discuss Alice's seventh marriage and how it will go.
"Valentino I guess is not someone who would want anything from anyone right now so he decided to pick days on which I could come over to his house for work you know and trust me it's just so perfect for me "Alice made a clear explanation with a bit of excitement in the tone of her voice. She stood to her feet and went straight into the kitchen to get some dessert.
"Theo do you care for some.?" she stretched out her neck to get a retort from Theo who nodded in response to Alice's question. Theo then stood up as well to clear the dishes from the plateau before Alice brought in the edible berry cupcake.
In a grift, Alice was back and dessert was served, Theo found the perfect topic for the stint"Wifey.? So you will be having your seventh wedding soon?" Theo said with a big smile written all over his face.
"I just can't wait to get this over with. Do you know I'm starting to find weddings boring?, just like I have engaged in weddings that I don't find interesting any longer" Alice clarified that fact to Theo who was not even a bit surprised by that impression he got from her, knowing it was somewhat true.
"Yeah, it sure doesn't interest you anymore but you will still have to be a bride once again darling"Theo's eyes were strongly fixed on the bright moon and stars in the atmosphere he couldn't resist its beauty but tried so hard to, then looked to see Alice all over the desert which he almost forgot was there, so he quickly rushed and dug in as much as he could that almost choked him which made Alice burst into hearty laughter that brought tears to her eyes.
"Take it easy hubby, so you won't choke to death "she cut out still in a feist of laughter.
"Berry cupcakes can be the death of me. I honestly don't mind." Theo continued to consume the desert not until he was full and couldn't eat any longer.
"So I wish we could go on a vacation to clear our minds once more, though it seems like you will be too busy for some time since you are into another business deal."Theo wished just before he looked away from Alice and glanced back to the sky with his eyes closed just to feel the night breeze and relaxed a bit.
"Did you meet your sisters.?"Alice knew that could be the only reason why Theo would want to go on a sudden vacation just to get away from his family.
"They came around to yell about their usual and left after a little argument with them, "Theo said with a motionless face which made Alice not able to know his true feelings but she already knows how hard it has always been for him so she could tell just with the tone of his voice.
"Let's make plans for my seventh wedding then plan a vacation after that," Alice mentioned with the hopes of cheering him up and changing the subject.
They talked about the new contract, wedding, and stuff all through the night, or let's say just until Alice could not yawn anymore cause she got unduly tired to even yawn. So they retired to their various rooms after saying the night's wishes.
