Jamie stood in the hallway speechlessly, not knowing what to do, she could hear Rita chanting away upstairs. The least she could do right now is to find out when they will be back so it could buy her time to leave the house before they get here.
Jamie staggered into her room, with shaky legs, she pulled out her phone to dial George's number but instead, a call came into her phone. She swallowed hard, first hesitated to pick up the call but needed to anyway so she inhaled deeply and exhaled calmly to calm her nerves.
"Hello, who am I speaking with?" Jamie's shaky words were heard as she spoke up.
"Mom? Are you ok?" "Alice" Jamie breathed out shakily which Alice could clearly hear, she wasn't supposed to let Alice see her this way, it would only make her want to do some nasty stuff which would either worsen the situation or end things and she couldn't let any of that happen.
