Chapter 3 - This Family Is a Bit Rad

A couple of minutes passed as Lin Siyu lay in the warm water, feeling the steam rise around her.

She took a deep breath and let the scent of lavender from her bath bomb fill her senses.

"I guess diving into the world of cultivation isn't all that bad," she mused to herself, her fingers idly trailing through the water.

"But family… that's a whole different story."

Her thoughts were consumed with the upcoming encounter with her newfound family, causing her mind to drift back to the memories of the original Lin Siyu.

She could vividly recall the siblings' faces, the way they interacted with each other, and even some of their individual likes and dislikes.

As she tried to make sense of it all, her personality blended with the memories of the original Siyu, like pieces of a puzzle coming together.

With a determined glint in her eyes, Lin Siyu took a deep breath and decided it was time to face the inevitable - getting to know her siblings.

As she rose from the bath, she wrapped herself in a soft, fluffy towel, relishing in its warmth.

She exited the washroom, feeling a renewed sense of confidence, and her steps echoed in the quiet hallway as she made her way to the common area.

As she walked down the hall, she could hear snippets of conversation and the occasional burst of laughter coming from the room.

Lin Siyu paused outside the door, taking a deep breath to steady herself.

She reached out and gave the door a gentle knock.

"Yo, uh, anyone lurking around here?" she called out tentatively, her heart pounding in her chest.

The sudden silence was broken only by the creaking of the door as it opened.

The girl in the doorway had striking red hair that flowed down her back and gaped at the sight of Lin Siyu.

"Sister! You're finally here!" She said, clamping her arm around her neck.

Lin Siyu's mind was muddled for a moment before she regained her composure and focused on the face in front of her.

She had charry red eyes with pure red hair. Her face always looked like she was blushing, with rosy cheeks and a hint of pink on her nose.

"Sister Xinyu!" Lin Siyu said with a smile.

"Hey, you remember me? I thought you lost your memories?" Lin Xinyu leaned forward, her face lighting up with a smile as she spoke to Lin Siyu.

"I can piece together some of my memories, but not the whole loot crate." She said with some embarrassment, seeing her getting so close to her face.

"Huh? Sister, your speaking is weird." Lin Xinyu said as she stared into her eyes.

"Xinyu! Our sister is yet acclimating to her surroundings. Display reverence, I beseech thee." A male voice sounded from inside the room.

Lin Siyu heard the voice, paused and said, "Brother Chenyu!"

A man with short, spiked red hair appeared in her vision.

His eyes pitch black and his face stiff, not revealing any emotion.

"He's such a mini immortal wannabe, I can't even!" Lin Siyu thought to herself, laughing inside.

She looked further beyond her brother and saw her other sister, Lin Zhirou.

She couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance between herself and Lin Zhirou, from their cold white hair to their beautiful blue eyes.

Although it's not the same colour, but more like they resemble a delicate flower.

"Come! Come! Sister! We've been worried about you all day!" Lin Xinyu said, dragging Lin Siyu into the room, ignoring her brother's eyes.

Xinyu took her to the nearest chair with tea and sat her down.

"So, sister, what do you remember?" Lin Xinyu asked right away.

"Xiao Xinyu! Allow her the span to find her equilibrium." Lin Chenyu said with a heavy face.

Xinyu looked back at him with fierce eyes.

"Listen up, brother! Maybe quit with the high-and-mighty act and start showing a hint of compassion, huh? Seriously, your constant uptight blabber is getting old real fast. Step up your game, immortal."

"Xiao Xinyu, thy unrestrained tongue may render the prospect of matrimony elusive in the days to come."

"I don't need any silly ol' men! I'm gonna be the empress, and, um, kick 'em all out 'cause I said so! I'll be in charge, and they can just, like, go away forever and ever!"

Lin Siyu looked at her sister and gave her a thumbs up. 'You go, girl!'

Lin Xinyu saw her sister give a thumbs up and looked at her brother arrogantly.

"See, like, even Xiao Siyu totally gets it! She's, like, totally on my side and stuff! It's, um, pretty obvious that I'm right, you know?" She said, waving her fist at him.

"Ok, enough you two." Lin Zhirou finally stood up and shut the two of them up.

"Siyu, how come you're in the Qi Refinement Realm now? If I'm not mistaken, your roots should not be able to be cultivated." Lin Zhirou asked, her face puzzled.

"Oh, you remember that book I was carrying, the one you mentioned the immortal dished out?"

Lin Zhirou nodded.

"Well, it seems like that book was a method I could harness to level up my spiritual game," she spilled the beans.

Lin Siyu thought for a moment and asked. "Hey sis, spill the deets on what went down when I had that memory wipe, will ya?"

Lin Zhirou savoured the taste of the tea before setting the cup down and meeting her sister's gaze.

"You were coming from the outside of the town to pick up mother and father, but a battle between two cultivators in the Nascent Soul Realm broke out."

"You were affected in the backlash, and the immortal felt sorry as he was a disciple under the Lotus Moon Sect that watches over our town, so he gave you a cultivation technique."

"In a week he will come back and look to make sure you're ok."

Lin Siyu sat and listened to the entire story while the other siblings sat on the side saying nothing.

"So... that immortal dude. Even though I was banged up, I can't wrap my head around why he'd be throwing gifts my way." Lin Siyu said with some hesitation.

Lin Zhirou also shook her, not knowing why he'd give her such a gift.

"He wouldn't have his sights set on a gal like me, would he?"

When Lin Siyu spoke, the room fell silent, and everyone turned to look at her.
