As soon as Lin Siyu arrived back home, her sister Xinyu ran directly at her.
"Sister! Sister! Come on, let's fight! You're a cultivator now, learn how to fight with this empress!"
Lin Siyu was speechless. 'Fighting for her might be more addicting than drugs.'
"Ah, sure. Let's fight."
"Yay! You're the best, sister!"
Lin Xinyu cheered.
Lin Siyu chuckled and went to change into more appropriate clothes.
When she came out, Lin Xinyu dragged her towards the training grounds.
There was a small arena where the siblings would usually spar.
She never came here, though, considering she couldn't even cultivate.
Lin Xinyu was extremely excited as they made their way to the training grounds.
The servants looked on as the two entered the arena.
"So, are we gonna go all blade or throw down with our fists?" Lin Siyu asked her sister.
"Huh? Swords? Seriously, are you daft or just pretending? Sister, it's like you've never even seen an actual battle. You, with a sword? I'd sooner trust a squirrel with a calculator! But hey, if you want a sword, who am I to stop you? Maybe you'll accidentally trip on it and save us all the trouble in the future." Lin Xinyu said with an incredulous expression.
"Uh... I guess not, then."
Lin Siyu awkwardly laughed and shook her head.
She really didn't expect to be insulted so badly by her own sister.
The worst thing is that it kinda makes sense.
Lin Xinyu eyed her sister with a mix of sympathy and amusement. "Aw, ain't that cute, sis? You're clueless about the blade, huh? No worries, I'll school you in the art of slicing and dicing one day."
Lin Siyu said thanks and backed up a little.
The two girls stood face-to-face, and their eyes met.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road. And hey, don't get any ideas that being my sis will save you from getting your ass kicked. I ain't holding back just 'cause we're blood."
"Chill, I got this. You better go all out, though, or I might just flip."
"Hehe, just watch me."
Lin Xinyu laughed and charged at her sister, swinging her fists.
Lin Siyu raised her hand and blocked the incoming attacks, her body moving instinctively.
She didn't really have much combat experience, but she watched a lot of action movies and read a ton of comics in her previous life.
'Not bad. I've got some natural reflexes.' Lin Siyu gave herself a motivation boost, but was shattered the next second.
"Yo, yo, quit the statue act! You think you're posing for a portrait or what? Come on, unleash that inner warrior and give me something to work with!"
"Cut me some slack, okay? I'm still in learning mode. Just give me a hot sec."
Lin Xinyu continued to pummelled her sister with a barrage of punches and kicks, and soon enough, Lin Siyu was completely overwhelmed.
"Okay, okay, enough! You win, alright?"
"Hehe, that's what I thought."
Lin Xinyu smirked and took a step back, putting her hands on her hips.
Lin Siyu looked at her sister with a helpless expression.
Even in the third stage of Qi Refinement, she was no match for her sister.
'Well, she is in the 7th stage of Qi Refinement and is a year older, so it makes sense that I'd lose.' Lin Siyu comforted herself.
"Do we have a book here that is for combat?" Lin Siyu asked Xinyu.
Xinyu nodded her head and walked over to the shelf and picked up a book named Xiayan Hu Wu and tossed it to her sister.
Lin Siyu thanked her and opened the book.
She glanced over it and concluded that it was a movement technique.
It was based on a fox movement and a bit of dance elements mixed in to make it more unpredictable.
On the front of the book was a picture of a fox dancing on fire, surrounded by flowers and a background of a bright green sky.
"Hey, Xinyu. Got any of those sick DPS moves in our arsenal?" Lin Siyu asked.
"Alright, hold up. DPS? Sis, did you just switch to speaking in alien code or something?" Lin Xinyu pouted. "Just take the book and try it out. Dad said you were a genius, so you should be fine."
Lin Siyu sighed and placed her hand on the cover.
[Would you like to learn Xiayan Hu Wu? (Earth grade)]
[Description: The Foxfire Dance technique weaves together swift, unpredictable movements reminiscent of a fox's agile grace. Practitioners harness the elusive essence of the fox, becoming a blur of motion that confounds opponents. Like the flickering lights of foxfire in the darkness, their steps leave behind a trail of confusion, making it challenging for adversaries to expect their next move. This technique embodies both the cunning nature of the fox and the artistry of a dance, creating an enigmatic and mesmerising combat style.]
[Yes/No]
'Yes' Lin Siyu pressed.
Her mind went completely blank the moment she finished her thought.
As she regained consciousness, she knew the details of the move had been implanted in her mind.
It was as if the technique was second nature to her, and she moved through it with ease.
'Well, at least this time I didn't feel any pain,' Lin Siyu muttered.
Lin Siyu began moving according to her fresh memories.
Her steps were graceful, and her body swayed with the movements of the wind.
The surrounding air seemed to change, and her Qi was surging.
'Wow, this is actually pretty cool.'
Her mind was solely concentrated on the move as she kept practising it.
After about 3 minutes, she finished.
[EXP +10]
[Xiayan Hu Wu +10]
Lin Xinyu was staring at her with an astonished expression.
"Sister, I'm floored! You nailed down that technique in under three minutes! Impressive much? Colour me amazed!"
"Heh, it was nothing." Lin Siyu brushed her hair and grinned.
She was quite happy that she could learn such a technique in a short amount of time.
"Let's fight again! This time I attack and you dodge!" Lin Xinyu said, grabbing her wrist and pulling her to the training grounds again.
Lin Siyu couldn't help but shake her head and smiled.
The sparring match lasted for hours, and as it ended, Lin Siyu's body was covered in a sheen of sweat, and her clothes were in tatters. Lin Xinyu, on the other hand, looked as fresh as when they had started.
Lin Xinyu's superiority was evident beyond doubt.
"Alright, I think that's enough for now. Let's take a break." Lin Siyu said.
"Ok!" Lin Xinyu happily said, running off to the dining hall.
Lin Siyu sighed and followed.
The dining hall was quite large, with many tables and chairs.
The food was being cooked by the chef, who had a white hat and uniform.
The smell of the food wafted through the room, making Lin Siyu's stomach rumble.
"Mmm, smells good!" Lin Xinyu said, sitting at a nearby table.
"Agreed." Lin Siyu replied, sitting across from her.
The aroma of the dishes wafted up and made the girls' mouths water.
They both looked scrumptious and irresistible.
"Thanks!" the two sisters said.
The chef nodded and went back to cooking.
The two girls wasted no time and immediately devoured their food.
"Wow, this is superb," Lin Xinyu said, swallowing a mouthful.
"Yeah, it is." Lin Siyu agreed.
The food was extremely satisfying.
The two girls gulped the food, their hunger completely satisfied.
"That was delicious." Lin Xinyu said, burping.
"Indeed." Lin Siyu replied.
"Do you wanna go for another round?" Lin Xinyu asked.
"Nah, I'm too tired. Besides, I gotta get to bed early to continue cultivating tomorrow." Lin Siyu said.
Lin Xinyu looked a bit disappointed, but nodded.
"Alright then. Let's go to sleep."
Lin Siyu stood up and walked towards the door, with Lin Xinyu following.
Once they arrived at their rooms, they bid each other goodnight.
Lin Siyu went to her bedroom and sank into the softness of her bed.
Exhausted, she closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
