Last is Ivy against Erika's strongest Pokemon, her Vileplume.
Erika: This seems to be a bad match up for both of us, seeing as they share the same exact types. Oh well, I do have the strength advantage. If only that boy didn't wear himself out.
Ivy spend most of the battle landing Razor Leaves that do almost nothing to the flower Pokemon due to its typing. She fails to dodge some of the Mega Drains and even though she resist them just as much, the higher stats and the health drained from those attacks makes this incredibly disadvantageous for Ivy.
Una: Ivy, let me switch in!
They switch out to give Ivy a small bit of rest time while Una is also doing almost nothing to the Vileplume as it drains away her health after putting her to sleep with Sleep Powder. She wakes up before she can be taken out and lands a String Shot to slow it down.
Erika: Try this then, Vileplume, Petal Dance!
Despite it's movements being more sluggish, the Pokemon moves with such grace that Una doesn't even realize what's going on as she is stucked down and knocked out. Ivy comes back in as the Vileplume continues to dance around and tries to strike Ivy down like it did to Una. Thanks to the help of Una's String Shot, allowing her to see the move and slowing it down, Ivy manages to dodge all of the strikes before its comes to a halt, now dizzy and confused.
Erika: I was hoping to take you both out before the downsides of this move could come into effect.
Ivy: Don't worry, I'll win before it can recover.
She strikes it with repeated Razor Leaves trying to deal as much damage as possible to it before it can return to normal. The combine damage from it hurting itself in its confusion and the damage from Ivy bring it closer and closer to its defeat, until it finally recovers and knocks away Ivy with another Petal Dance.
Erika: You all did amazingly during this battle, unfortunatelty, it looks like this battle is officially ov-
Just then, Ivy gets back up with a glow around her as her body begins to change. The bulb on her back finally fully blooms into a beautiful flower, completing her evolution to Venusaur.
Erika: Oh how wonderful! I guess stress does push a Pokeman to evolve!
Ivy: Thank you, but lets get back to me getting this badge. I'll even do it in one more move.
Erika: Lets see then. Vileplume, Petal Dance!
As it charges toward Ivy, she shows off her own Petal Dance. They both hit each other, then again, and one last time as the attacks end.
Ivy: ...
Erika: ...
The Vileplume falls down, giving Ivy and the rest of her team the win.
Erika: Amazing! Your skills in battle were extraordinary! I've never seen a Pokeman evolve right in front of me too!
Ivy: Thank you, I see why you're a gym leader, if it wasn't for my friend Una and evolving, I would have surely lost.
They take the badge and leave the gym to go rest after a long, straining battle, waiting for Wart and Rai to return.
