"Mom…Mom, hug me." Luyang's hoarse throat coughed out those words. His body was shivering coldly. Seeing this, Mingxia was the first to hug Luyang tightly, giving him warmth. Soon, he stopped sobbing and held onto Mingxia.
"Mommy is here. She would not let any bad thing happen to you, Xiao Yang," Mingxia protectively held him until he fell asleep. Once he was stable enough to be by himself, she let go of his fingers and laid him down properly.
Knowing Luyang was in pain because of her negligence, Mingxia's heart shattered into several fragments as she examined Luyang. Lixin helped her up and took her outside to his study room. He let her sit down and comforted her.
"I deserve whatever punishment you want to give me, Lixin. I can't bear this self-guilt anymore," Mingxia said while muffling out her tears. This pain was too much for her to handle. She did not want to go through any of this again.
