Ch 39 PvP Ambush: A Surprising Duel

Necro's desperate flight continued, but the relentless pursuit of the black unicorn proved unyielding. The ebony steed closed the distance with alarming speed, its shadowy presence casting a foreboding pall over the forest.

Then, disaster struck. Necro's faithful brown wolf, his loyal companion, was mercilessly taken down by the relentless black wolf and the enigmatic black scarab. Instead of a lifeless body, the brown wolf's energy dispersed into the ether, leaving no trace behind.

With his wolf's demise, Necro came to an abrupt halt, his chest heaving with a mix of grief and anger. His voice trembled as he muttered, "No, killing my wolf made me upset. I will do what I was supposed to do in the first place."

Lyra, her black unicorn halting beside her, regarded Necro with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. She inquired, "And that is?"

Necro's cryptic reply left Lyra baffled, his words shrouded in a language foreign to her. "I will be back," he declared before vanishing into thin air, leaving behind a bewildered and intrigued Lyra, alone in the eerie stillness of the dark forest.

Lyra voiced her perplexity, her words tinged with a hint of fascination, "Is this invisibility or teleportation? No more tracks in the ground... So, this guy is a beast tamer with a teleportation accessory?"

Her curiosity shifted as she glanced toward the spot where Necro's wolf had met its end, only to find no trace of a corpse. Confusion marked her features as she muttered aloud, "Eh? Where is the monster's corpse?"

Then, like a sudden bolt of realization, a wave of concern washed over her. Her eyes widened with apprehension as she grasped the gravity of her actions. "This is bad," she admitted, her voice laced with worry. "I attacked a life forger, even worse, one weaker than me. I don't want to become a slave."

Lyra's thoughts raced as she contemplated Necro's cryptic words. "What did he mean, he will be back here or in the cabin?" she pondered, her mind mulling over the possibilities.

With caution in her steps, she waited for around 20 minutes, her senses on high alert. The situation had taken an unexpected turn, and she needed to remain vigilant. Eventually, she decided to order the black unicorn to move back towards the cabin, all while her instincts whispered that something was amiss.

As she approached the area she sensed that her green monster had been dispatched, a disconcerting truth settled in: "That was too fast," she acknowledged with a hint of disbelief. "I could not even see what hit it."

As Lyra returned to the cabin, she was met with an unexpected sight. A small stone sat at the cabin's entrance, and just beyond it, Necro stood clad in full black armor. He gripped a wooden shield in one hand and brandished a bone sword in the other. The tension in the air was palpable.

Realizing the gravity of her earlier actions, Lyra took a step forward, her voice tinged with apology. "Look, sorry for attacking you. I thought you were a pervert and became angry. I ask for your forgiveness."

Necro remained silent, but the oppressive aura surrounding him seemed to ease slightly. Lyra, seizing the opportunity, continued, "Just don't report this incident to your tribe, and I won't report it to mine. We have a deal?"

Still saying nothing, Necro's stoic demeanor persisted. Lyra, undeterred, pressed on, "I have questions for you."

However, Necro's response was unequivocal, "No, I came here to avenge my wolf."

Lyra couldn't help but laugh, "Stop joking. I'm Level 4, and you're only Level 2. You just lost your two creations. You can recreate them tonight and come back tomorrow if you want to spar. But even tomorrow, you have no chance. Wait, how did you kill my plant monster?"

Lyra, however, was willing to offer a compromise. "If you want to spar, it's okay, but if I win, you have to answer five of my questions."

Necro finally engaged with a hint of intrigue, "What if I win?"

Lyra's laughter echoed through the forest as she responded to Necro, her confidence evident. "You will not win."

Necro, undeterred, pressed on, "But what if I win?"

With a smug expression, Lyra retorted, "I will answer ten of your questions. I swear they will be truthful answers. Do we have a deal? Tomorrow morning?"

Necro accepted with resolve, "I'm ready."

Lyra, still underestimating her opponent, thought, "You jest too much. This will be easy."

As they parted ways, Lyra waited for a moment and then announced, "If you do not come, I will come to you."

Observing the stone left at the cabin's entrance, she questioned its purpose, "So, what is this stone for? Some kind of trap?"

The black wolf responded by nudging the stone with its paw, revealing it as nothing more than a simple stone. Lyra chuckled, "Is this just a stone? I was thinking it would explode or something."

With her curiosity piqued and the arrangement set, Lyra prepared herself for the intriguing challenge that awaited her.

As the black wolf raced in the direction Necro had disappeared, it abruptly came to a halt. Lyra, perceptive as ever, pondered, "He teleported again?"

Not one to be caught off guard, she noticed movement in the bushes a short distance away and swiftly dispatched her black wolf to pursue it. However, an unexpected ambush awaited her black wolf as Necro's brown wolf lunged from the shadows, and a fierce battle ensued.

Watching the fight unfold, Lyra couldn't help but wonder, "How is it possible that he recreated the wolf so fast? Does a newbie have essence potions?"

But Necro wasn't done yet. He reappeared on the opposite side and hurled a stone at the black unicorn. Lyra scoffed, "A stone would never pass this kind of shield."

Undeterred, Necro threw his shield at the unicorn, and Lyra commented dismissively, "Pathetic struggle."

Finally, Necro launched his bone sword toward the black unicorn's neck. Lyra's patience wore thin as she declared, "I'm tired of you."

In response, she sent her black scarab flying towards Necro, determined to put an end to their encounter.

As the sword penetrated the shield, Lyra's thoughts raced with confusion, and she exclaimed, "Eh?"

But the sword didn't stop there. It continued through the black unicorn's neck until a resonating explosion erupted, resulting in the demise of the unicorn. The powerful explosion sent both Lyra and the unicorn crashing to the ground, and Lyra found her leg pinned beneath the fallen creature.

Meanwhile, the black scarab arrives where Necro was but finds nothing because he previously saved his second point behind her and teleported there. The stone was just a distraction to stop her in the position that he wanted. Once he teleported there, he gave her a big slap on her face that resounded in the forest and materialized his living sword in his hand, pointing it at her face.

Necro coldly said, 'Make them stop moving.'

Lyra, with her red face ashamed and surprised, said, 'Ok, ok. You really had to hit my face?'"

Necro remained stern as he reminded her, "I have the right to ask ten questions, you have none."
