ch 43 Riding with a giant

Necro, cautious but unafraid, couldn't help but weigh his options. If this person turned out to be a threat, his teleportation ability would be his ticket to safety. He kept that plan firmly in his mind as the colossal Tyrannosaurus Rex came to a halt roughly 20 meters away.

As the creature slowed, Necro's eyes focused on the man atop its head. A toothbrush mustache, a green uniform, and a conspicuous red cross symbol on his chest caught his attention. Memories from his previous world flashed through Necro's mind, memories of sinister individuals who bore symbols of cruelty.

The man's voice broke through Necro's thoughts, reassuring and friendly.

Man: "No need to be afraid, little one. He might be big, but this beast is gentle."

Necro, still processing the situation, found his voice.

Necro: "Who are you, and what's with the uniform?"

Man: "Name's Fritz. I'm a medic from a nearby settlement. We use these creatures to help with transport and protection. He might look intimidating, but old Rex here is as gentle as a lamb."

Necro, though initially taken aback, began to feel a sense of relief. It seemed that this encounter was not one of danger, but rather an introduction to a unique corner of this strange world.

"Well, Fritz, you certainly had me on edge there. I'm Necro, by the way."

"Pleasure to meet you, Necro. You're quite the traveler to be out here in the wilds alone. Need a lift somewhere?"

Necro considered Fritz's offer, realizing that this might be an opportunity to learn more about this world and its inhabitants.

Necro: "Actually, Fritz, I'm on a bit of a journey. Mind if I join you for a while?"

Fritz flashed a warm smile.

Fritz, the man in the unique uniform, took notice of the unusual companions traveling with Necro—a slime and a wolf. He couldn't help but be intrigued.

Fritz: "Are you a beast tamer like me, or more of a swordsman?"

Necro: "I'm a swordsman."

Fritz seemed pleased with the answer.

Fritz: "Oh, cool! I'm Fritz, by the way. What's your name?"

Necro: "It's Necroviper."

Fritz's interest shifted to the striking armor that Necro wore, adorned in black and red.

Fritz: "Where did you get that cool armor? Is it from the dwarves' settlement?"

Necro shook his head.

Necro: "No, I'm actually trying to find them myself."

Fritz nodded in understanding.

Fritz: "I see. Well, if you'd like, I can give you a ride. It'll be faster than walking."

Necro, intrigued by the idea of sharing a ride in the Tyrannosaurus Rex's head, agreed. He couldn't help but marvel at the curious nature of this world.

As Fritz materialized a white ball in his hand and threw it to the ground, Necro's thoughts couldn't help but drift into a realm of annoyance.

Necro thought to himself: "What kind of annoying world have I landed in? There are so many fudging jobs, and now this?"

The ball hit the ground, releasing a cloud of white smoke. From within, a majestic pegasus emerged. Fritz, seemingly unfazed by this display, turned to Necro.

Fritz: "Mount up, please."

Necro eyed the pegasus and noticed a saddle on its back.

Necro: "It can fly?"

Fritz hooked his head with a grin.

Fritz: "Not yet, but it can certainly keep up with Fred."

Necro couldn't help but be curious and puzzled.

Necro: "Fred?"

Fritz affectionately patted the enormous Tyrannosaurus Rex head.

Fritz: "Yep, that's Fred. He's my trusty companion."

Necro, still processing the whirlwind of strange encounters in this world, approached the pegasus and prepared to embark on yet another unique journey in the company of Fritz, Fred, and his ever-loyal slime and wolf companions.

As they continued their journey on the back of the colossal Tyrannosaurus Rex, Fritz struck up a conversation with Necro. The rhythmic steps of the Tyrannosaurus Rex created a steady backdrop to their discussion.

Fritz: "So, where are you from, Necro?"

Necro, his gaze focused on the passing scenery, replied, "The forest."

Fritz, a hint of curiosity in his voice, clarified, "No, I mean, which settlement were you born in?"

Necro chose his words carefully, revealing only part of the truth, "I'm sorry, but I've lost my memories. My first recollections are of waking up inside that forest."

Fritz, slightly taken aback, continued the conversation, "You mentioned your name is Necroviper. Is that your real name, or did you make it up?"

Necro's voice carried a touch of worry and shame as he admitted, "I made it up."

Fritz, his experience as an adventurer evident, nodded knowingly, "I had a feeling. No one around here has a name like that. You see, I've traveled to many places, and your name is quite unique."

Necro, concerned about how others might react to his unconventional name, asked, "Do you think people will be upset or annoyed because my name is like this?"

Fritz, dismissing the concern, replied, "Hmm? No, why would they be? If anyone asks, just explain your situation. Tell them it's a temporary name until you remember your real one. Or better yet..."

Fritz trailed off as he had an idea. He brought their ride to a halt with a command.

Fritz: "Fred, stop."

The giant Tyrannosaurus Rex obediently ceased its movement. Fritz opened his palm, showing it to Necro.

Fritz: "Now, watch this. Show my ID."

Necro observed closely as Fritz's status information appeared in a holographic display.

**Fritz**

- Level 30 Beast Tamer

Fritz: "Now, give it a try. Repeat what I just did."

Necro mirrored Fritz's action, and a holographic display appeared with his own information.
