Chapter 2 - Prologue 2

The land was barren and scorched, if that was all then remarking it would be grossly disappointing but that wasn't it the most noteworthy thing was a huge black tearing in space that covered several miles in the horizon and there was now a permanent air of death hanging in the atmosphere because of it that was so oppressive making the land barren. No one could be faulted for mistaking this for the underword would, this place could no longer support life. Now that I have touched on the spatial crack then the next ominous feature in this place that spanned thousands of square miles was the crimson sand. I will say this right now so that none will be lost, this was not some figure of speech for some iron rich sand as commonly seen but rather the land was dyed a deep dead crimson colour the colour of dried and fresh blood. If one zoomed in a little they would discover countless skeletons scattered all over, it was difficult to notice because instead of white they had turned red too from being continually being covered in blood. Whilst a place filled with skeletons is ominius enough this time it did not end there, The skeletons covering the place where a mixture of human ones and very bizarre shaped ones. Some where gigantic and humanoid but their skeletons had extra potrusions on theirs which made it clear that theyhad wings, some where just too enormous that even if we tries to gloss it over as a severe case of gigantism no one would believe they came from humans, some had one eye socket and many other different types. Aside from skeletons what littered the grounds where the battered remains of various species one more beastly than the other and the number of such remains increased at an astonidhing rate with everu passing minute. Passionate shouting, explosions, the cacophonous sound of metal agains metal, the sound of flesh being torn apart and the agonizing screams of unwilling sentient creatures as they lost the most precious gift of all, their life is the only closed thing to music one could get in this particular place. Naturally it does not take a genius to realise that this place was a battle field and a severe one at that. Human warriors where valiantly fighting to protect their loved ones and land from these invading forces that wanted to enter their world. Months had passed for this one and the enemy forces where hardly receding, the battle had been like fighting a hydra of legend, with every invader slain two more would take its place, whilst many casualties had befallen the human forces compared to the invaders it was a drop in the sea the reason being not everyone was elligible to participate on this battlefield save for the elite of the elite. Suddenly in one particular part of the battlefield a shout rang out.

"Stupid, that breath attack is a spiritual attack you can't block it that w______AAAAAAARGGGHHHH!" The one who had been shouting had leapt and pushed his partner out of the way without thinking and used his own body to take te attack, what followed was a howl of anguish as he felt as if her very soul was being torn apart, so much pain filled hisbody he would have preferred to die at that point then he felt cold all of a sudden and fell face forward down.

"Captain no, Bastard!" The one who had been pushed out of the way let loose a shiek of pain and swung her sword at the beast that had unleashed the attack just now, this beast was weak to physical attack and it was torn apart living not even a corpse behind, Raeline could not believe she had done such a stupid move as to try to block the attack with a shield for physical attack now pain, rage and guilt were in turmoil in her head as she foolishly stared at her captain who had fallen in front of her.
