At the end of the month the previous raining clouds vanished and replaced a beautiful blue sky.
It was as if someone pushed away the clouds just for this event.
"Well, considering the elder's strength, it's possible. You could do it too, right Liliane?"
He asked Liliane who was hiding somewhere in the room.
"If you mean clearing the sky with my power, then it is possible." She said telepathically and Siphyr nodded in understanding.
Today was the day the choosing of the head disciple will happen and the elder of the peak will personally be in this event.
There are five people who will be participating in this event including Siphyr.
Two of them will be the Lin brothers and the other two will be disciples who are aiming for that spot.
"Let's head out shall we, I want to get this over with, so that I can visit Diane. I've already given her enough time, so she should be a 2nd class disciple by now."
Siphyr recalled the bet he made with Diane, one with a deal that he will be giving her a reward if she wins.
As for what that reward is, it entirely depends on what she wants with Siphyr.
After this tournament, Siphyr will attempt to breakthrough the next realm and spend his first night with Liliane.
Wearing his red robe he made his way out the house and proceeded to where the selection will be held.
As expected almost all of the disciples in the outer court came to watch the selection.
"The names that will be called come on stage and pick a number!"
A familiar voice resounded within the crowd and the identity of this voice was Ling Mei, the current Head Disciple.
"Jin Pu! Lin Wu! Lin Mu! Hu Wang! Come up on stage and pick a number. If your number is odd then you will be fighting against someone who also picks an odd number."
She said and the four came up on stage, Siphyr wondered why his name wasn't called but he didn't mind and waited for her.
On the stage, Lin Wu and Lin Mu looked at each other with clear hostility as they picked a number.
Unfortunately for Lin Wu, he picked an odd number instead of an even one like his brother.
It seems that he might get pushed to use his trump card in the first round. After all his opponent Jin Pu was at the late stages of the fourth stage.
Even so he didn't panic and calmed himself as he convinced his mind that he would win.
Without his trump card he was confident in fighting against someone at the fourth stage, though the outcome would be unclear.
Jin Pu on the other hand was smirking towards his opponent as if he was already confident with his chances of winning.
And as the other disciples noticed Lin Wu's cultivation at the late stages of the fourth stage.
They didn't have much hope for him winning and ignored them and looked forward to the match between Lin Mu and Hu Wang.
They were in the sect for far longer than the other two so their names were known by most disciples already.
One was famed for being a kind and strong man and the other known for his mischief.
It was clear whom the disciples would be cheering on.
After all, all of them wanted to see Lin Mu's defeated face.
However, to their surprise both Lin Mu and Hu Wang were already at the fifth stage.
They had known that Lin Mu's cultivation was only at the fourth stage a month ago but it seems that during his secluded cultivation for the past few weeks he managed to breakthrough.
Still, their faith in Hu Wang winning never waivered as he was already at the point that he could breakthrough the next stage with a few more Nyxars.
"The first match will be Jin Pu against Lin Wu!"
As she checked the numbers they picked, she announced the first match.
Soon the other two left the stage, Lin Wu and Jin Pu remained as they each stood at the opposite sides of the stage.
"Ready your weapons."
At her words Jin Pu brought out an ordinary looking spear.
As for Lin Wu he brought out a sword and this shocked everyone.
"Hey, is fighting with a sword even allowed?"
One voiced out and Ling Mei took a moment before responding.
"Lin Wu, you will be forced to forfeit if you use a weapon that is not a spear."
Hearing her words Lin Wu frowned but suddenly his ancestor spoke in his head.
"Lin Wu, the Sword Emperor's Strike can also be used using a spear as long as you know the fundamentals behind it."
"The Sword Emperor's Strike focuses on dealing a one hit strike that will end a battle leaving you exhausted."
"That's why channel your energy in the spear like how you channel your Nyxavor in using the technique."
After hearing his words Lin Wu heaved a sigh of relief and replaced his sword with a spear.
"Isn't that a spirit grade spear?! Then, it looks like he might just have a chance in winning against Jin Pu."
"But isn't that cheating? Using a treasure against an ordinary weapon?"
"No, you fool, as long as the treasure is at the grade in the same realm then it's not considered cheating."

Hearing their words Jin Pu glanced at his opponent's spear. Seeing that it's a treasure his expression turned grim and serious.
"Ready?" Ling Mei asked and glanced at the two.
Seeing them nod their heads she announced the start of the fight.
"Begin!"
"Flowing Spear technique!"
As soon as the fight began Jin Pu attacked first and brought out his technique.
He rushed towards Lin Wu and dodged his strikes like a flowing stream.
"You're done for!" Jin Pu shouted after dodging the attacks and he thrusted his spear against Lin Wu's chest.
"Argh!" Lin Wu grunted as he tried to block the attack, however he was still sent flying by the strong force and flew a few meters away before landing on the ground.

Each two grades belong to one realm and the lower and higher determines if the grade is stronger than the other.
