Chapter 17 - Chapter 15 - Moonlight City

Morning dawned and as Siphyr expected, Liliana was nowhere to be seen.

'Right now she's probably hiding somewhere.'

Siphyr thought and he got out of his bed. He wore his red robe and went downstairs.

There, he saw four familiar figures eating their meal. It was a meal they cooled themselves from the things they brought with them.

"Siphyr, do you want to eat with us? I mean... *Gulp*.... There's plenty left." Xing Fu invited before gulping down his food.

"Sure, I won't be humble then." Siphyr accepted his invitation and sat down on a chair.

On the table, there was a bunch of food Siphyr hadn't tasted. After all, the things he ate in the mansion were all expensive food.

However, he wasn't disgusted with eating foods like this as it was something new to him. Also, as he put one of the kebabs in his mouth, he savored the flavor to the fullest.

He liked the flavor and it tasted better than he thought.

After eating the five of them talked about the situation yesterday.

"Ignoring Siphyr's spending time with the current head disciple, let's talk about what you want to do first Lin Wu." Said Dubong Li in a serious voice.

The atmosphere turned heavy remembering what happened yesterday.

"To tell you the truth, even if I advance to the 3rd stage, I still don't think I'll be able to beat my older brother." Lin Wu grimaced at the thought of fighting his brother who was overwhelmingly stronger than him.

And to their surprise the next person to speak was Siphyr.

"If you want I can fight for you, after all, I'll also be joining the head disciple selection."

"What?! You also want to be the head disciple? Well, that's not weird considering that you've managed to defeat a disciple without cultivation." Lin Wu exclaimed at Siphyr.

"But.... Ah, nevermind, even if the chances are slim, at least there is a possibility of you defeating my older brother." Said Lin Wu.

"Of course, I'm not being arrogant here but, I'm pretty sure my cultivation will rise enough in a month."

'Maybe less than that time but it doesn't really matter if I told them or not." Siphyr thought and changed the topic.

"Since this is our face day officially becoming a disciple, why don't the five of us accept a mission." Lin Wu proposed and the others nodded.

"How about you Siphyr, want to join?" Lin Wu asked.

"No, thank you, I think I'll stay here for a while." Siphyr replied and waited for.them to go out after finishing their things.

After they left, Siphyr went upstairs and sat cross legged on his bed.

Then, he took the pill out of his storage ring, however he wasn't going to use this pill for now.

He put it to his side and began cultivating, sensing the surrounding chaotic dust and refining it before absorbing it.

This process took about a few hours before Siphyr even got to refine 6 Nyxar.

"I guess I'll be skipping dinner tonight." He wanted to continue cultivating until he reached the peak of the second stage.

Thus, he will continue refining and absorbing Nyxavor until he fills his Abyssal Nucleus.

A few more hours passed and the sun fell to the ground. If Siphyr was your average genius, he would already be at the maximum capacity and can prepare to breakthrough the next stage.

However, he wasn't done yet as his capacity was twice as much in both quantity and quality, making it harder to refine.

And so he continued doing this until midnight passed and dawn was closing in.

"Finally, I filled the maximum capacity of my Abyssal Nucleus." He said joyfully and grabbed the pill next to him.

He looked at it for a second before tossing it into his mouth.

A warm energy filled his body to the brim as the pill took effect. Furthermore, he could feel his Abyssal Nucleus expanding and increasing capacity.

After several minutes his Abyssal Nucleus could now fit 60 Nyxar, two times the amount of an average cultivator at his stage.

Siphyr was happy with this result and he plunged down to his bed and slept without hesitation.

He was tired and he needed some rest because he will be taking a mission later today.

As Siphyr fell unconscious, a figure appeared before him, covering Siphyr with a blanket after adjusting his position in a comfortable one.

Then, that figure disappeared right after but not before staring at him with warm eyes for a good few seconds.

Morning arrived a few hours ago and Siphyr finally woke up from his sleep.

He washed himself and changed his clothes into that of a white robe.

Unlike the red robe that represents which peak you are from in the Moonlight Palace, white clothes are to be worn when leaving the sect, especially for a mission.

After all, white robes with a crescent moon design embroidered in the left chest represent the sect.

And so after eating Siphyr left a note outside of his quarters and moved towards the entrance of the sect.

"Name and reason for leaving?" Said the disciple who was in duty of guarding the entrance.

"Yang Siphyr, I am going out to take a mission." Siphyr said and the disciple noted down what he heard in a book.

Afterwards, he gestured to Siphyr that he could now leave and Siphyr headed to the land surrounded by the mountains.

As he arrived there, what he saw wasn't the island in the Sect Examination but a city of some sort.

It was surrounded by walls and in the entrance many disciples could be seen going in and out.

And so Siphyr also entered and the scenery inside came into view.

Buildings like pagodas stood tall alongside many others, there were even open pavilions for teas.

The road was made out of rubble and the inner structure of the city was separated by districts.

From the outer part of the circular city was the place 3rd class disciples are allowed to enter.

Going further was the inner part of the city where you can only access if you either have the permission of an elder or a 2nd class disciple.

And in the center of the city was where only elders and 1st class disciples are allowed to enter.

The exception for that was of course if you were brought there by someone who was allowed into the center of the city.
