Chereads / Heir of Lust / Chapter 2 - Prologue - Versatile Saint

Chapter 2 - Prologue - Versatile Saint

What is a saint? Siphyr questioned himself.

Is it an unfathomable being, one that can move the world as they will? Or an undying existence akin to that of an immortal?

If so... Then why is the one in front of him on the verge of death?

Siphyr is the youngest son of the demon king of lust, an apex existence on the continent.

However, unlike his brothers and sisters, he has neither an interest in cultivation nor a desire for his father's throne.

Because of that, no one bothered with what he was doing.

Even so, his loving father and mother started persuading him, but they all eventually failed, making them accept Siphyr's decision to not be a cultivator.

However, all of that changed one day when he went missing for a year, and as he returned, no one was able to get any information about where he had been.

Now, back to one year before his inevitable disappearance.

Siphyr, like normal, was sitting on a chair reading books in the private library of his family, one that can only be accessed by members of his family.

He read every book here, from cultivation techniques and methods to movements and information about the cultivation world.

"Hmmm?" Siphyr stood up from his chair and closed the book in his hands. He then proceeded to walk out of the library.

Along the way, servants bowed their heads in a respectful manner, and Siphyr nodded in response as a sign that they could continue working.

Currently, Siphyr is the only member of the family in their mansion, as everyone of his brothers and sisters are already in a sect.

As for his parents, they were in an important meeting with the other 'Sinners of Hell'.

Siphyr went out of the mansion, yet no servant questioned where he went. They already knew where he was going, as it was a common occurrence that after reading books, their young master would go to the shore of the beach.

It was the same as before, but there was something else that made him come here; it was as if a voice was calling him to go here.

Eventually, without notice, he found himself in a cave; he had no idea how he got there.

Even so, he continued his steps until... A person appeared in front of him.

She was injured, heavily so, and yet even those injuries didn't damage her incredibly beautiful face.

She had phoenix-like eyes that captivated one's mind, sharp brows as if they were drawn by a famous artist, and sharp yet delicate facial features.

Not only that, she had a perfectly proportioned and enchanting body. One that could make men and women alike admire it.

Even though her robes were torn, revealing her smooth white skin, she didn't mind when Siphyr looked at her.

Instead, there was a smile on her face.

"Is this perhaps fate? Or a mere coincidence? However, the thing on my back says otherwise."

She spoke, and her words were meant for both herself and Siphyr.

"You must be curious as to who I am and why I am here, heavily injured as well." She continued her words from before.

To which Siphyr replied.

"No. Well, maybe I am, but before that, I would like to ask you something. Are you the one who called me here?"

"Yes, indeed, it was I who called you here, and as for the reason, you will know soon enough."

"Before that, I will introduce myself as it would be rude not to do so. I am Suyan, a saint you may call me, and I came from a higher world after being heavily injured. Now I don't even have the strength to move my body."

She explained, and the stuff about her being from a higher world slightly surprised Siphyr, and he asked.

"Why are you telling me that you couldn't move your body? Are you not afraid that I would assault you in that state?"

To his words, only a laugh came out of her mouth.

"Assault me? Even if I can't move my body, I would still be able to kill you with ease, Siphyr."

Siphyr was shocked, not by the fact that she said she was able to kill him without moving her body, but by the fact that he knew his name.

"You must be wondering how I know your name? I've known you for a long time as I arrived in this world. You were the first one that caught my attention, and I've observed you ever since then. That's why I know you wouldn't do anything to me considering your personality." She said with confidence as if she knew everything about him.

"Unlike your family, you're the only one that didn't cultivate, but that wasn't the only thing that caught my attention; it was also the immense potential you have."

"A waste of talent, if I may say so; also, the other reason I've been observing you is..."

She sighed and didn't continue her words. She looked away from Siphyr for a moment to take her breath before continuing her words.

"As I said, you have immense potential, yet you're not using it; that's why I call it a waste. For that reason, I will ask you, Siphyr."

She paused for a moment before continuing her words in a threatening voice as she narrowed her eyes.

"Do you love your family?"

"?!"

Siphyr was startled. She was threatening his family, yet there was nothing he could do as he couldn't even move in her presence.

A few moments later, she returned to her usual expression, and the heavy pressure from before vanished as if it was never there.

"Don't worry, I didn't mean to threaten you; I only wanted you to learn something. You will need power to protect the ones you love, especially your family."

"This world is ruthless to you if you are weak without power, even more so if you have no status. That's why I wanted you to learn that. Without enough strength, you wouldn't be able to do anything."

"As for why I am telling you this, this is the same exact reason as to why I called you here: to tell you that your world is in danger alongside many others."

She spoke without stopping, and every word she said, especially the latter part, Siphyr tried to comprehend.

Without strength, you will not be able to protect the ones you love.

However, he already knew that, but the thing that shocked him the most was the last sentence she spoke.

"Our world is in danger?"

"Yes, your world, along with many other lower worlds, is in danger. You will know eventually when you're strong enough."

"You're giving me some vague answers, huh. If our world is in danger, then why are you telling me all of this? I am one without power, so I don't know why you are telling me this."

She smiled confidently, as if she already expected his words.

"One without power? Indeed you are; that is why I will guide you on your path in pursuit of power," She said, and Siphyr replied.

"But I have no desire to seek absolute strength; if I had one, I would've cultivated a long ago." He explained.

"Then are you going to let this world be destroyed by 'them'? You don't know this, but no one in this world has the strength to defend against them. After all, at my peak, no one in this world could lift a finger against me." She said and continued after a moment of pause.

"That's why I'll train you to have the strength to protect this world, if not then to protect the ones you love. Are you willing? Or are you going to let your family in this world die?"

Siphyr went silent; he began thinking about all the things she said. He knew she was making him guilty because, even though he was useless, his family loved him nonetheless and never abandoned him like others.

Although she was suspicious, the aura she released was much stronger than his father's, and that made her words more convincing. After all, the threat to this world was enough to heavily injure her.

Also, she had no reason to lie, and considering that she said the truth, no one in this world could probably defend against what she called 'them', at least not yet. If so, then this world may very well be gone if no one can defend it.

But he was reluctant; wouldn't that mean he would have a lot of responsibility ahead of him if he accepted her offer? Wouldn't that mean he would take on the burden of protecting this world?

He didn't want that; he just wanted to live his life peacefully like a young master from a powerful family.

And yet, he had to; he didn't want to let his loving family get destroyed by what heavily injured her.

"Then, why me? There are tons of people there with immense potential and desire to become the strongest. So why me?"

Indeed, he was right, but the beautiful woman in front of her just gave him a warm smile before responding to his words.

"Because I chose you, not only because of your strength but because you'll do anything to protect the things you love. Don't you want to protect your peaceful life?"

Her words hit him in the head so strongly that they made all his hesitation disappear.

After all, what Siphyr loved most was his unbothered life in the mansion.

Without any interference, he could do anything he wanted peacefully, and he loved that kind of life very much.

And he'll do anything to protect that kind of life.

"I accept." Siphyr said without the hesitation from before.

The saint smiled at that, and the grin on her mouth reached her ears.

"Then, starting now, you will become the disciple of I, Suyan, the versatile saint of the cosmic realm!"

She declared it to the heavens, and thus began Siphyr's one-year disappearance.

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of English vocabulary and changes in Pov.

The story about Siphyr's one year disappearance wouldn't be told until in the later chapters.

So in the next chapter, the present story will start as Siphyr begins his cultivation journey with the motivation of wanting an unbothered life.

Oh yeah, as you can guess from the title of the story, you should very well know this

is an 18+ story but that won't start until later.

Also this is a harem, but I wouldn't make it that every girl he meets will just fall in love with him.
