I was a little worried about the future with the foreboding death of classmates, but they just meant I needed to increase our power quickly before returning as we were at a goblin settlement.
There had to be lots of monsters in this forest, as well as goblins, right?
My eyes looked back, noticing that although she was classed as my pet, there was still no bonus for me.
I had yet to gain any of Sylvia's attributes, but I could see her attributes, and it made me realise something else. There was something strange about this world and the information given at the castle.
"Sylvia, may I ask you a question?"
She looked at me with a blank stare before nodding. It seemed for her to get used to being my pet and adjust to the situation where a vampire goddess blessed her, and I, the werewolf goddess, would take time.
One step at a time.
I am not looking to collect women in their dozens but eternal companions who will share my joys, burdens and sorrows.
"Ask."
The armoured woman took off her helmet and looked at Rena and Yuzu, giving them a polite nod and bow before returning her gaze to me.
"What is the average attribute for a level 1 warrior?"
Something bothered me that our attributes got us only Rank-F at maximum, but in the castle, if these were my current attributes...
I would have been a Rank-A Hero, at least.
She looked at me confused before her silver eyes gleamed at me, no longer turning golden due to her loss of the blessing, most likely.
But the silvery shine was pretty.
"It can depend on race or the kingdom, but generally, people follow the adventurer's guild standard and by the ranks and don't use level as a measurement but power level."
"Normally, the weakest adventurers are Rank-G with attributes below fifty and none exceeding that value."
"So the guild has a way to calculate Power Level, which takes into account highs and lows to avoid danger and death."
She seemed to notice my slight confusion and took out a quill and parchment and started to write something down on the flat of a stone, her silver hair draping against her cheek.
⁜Average Power Level For Adventurers⁜
Rank G: 20 - 50
Rank F: 50 - 100
Rank E: 150 - 200
Rank D: 250 - 300
Rank C: 300 - 400
Rank B: 400 - 500
Rank A: 500 - 600
Rank S: 600 - 1000

I looked at the sheet and noticed a big difference in the levels of measurement, and there had to be something wrong.
How could the hero only be Rank-D or less by the standards of the guild?
"You look a bit concerned and confused. Is it because of being a Summoned One?"
It was a way of referring to us that was new to me, so I wanted her to give me more information, gesturing for her to expand. "Is that what your kingdom calls those summoned?"
She smiled at me, her face seeming to be proud as she sat upright on the rock and cleared her throat.
I won't lie.
She exudes elegance and sex appeal that drives my vampire blood crazy. I want to taste her sanguine ichor so badly, but Rena's fingers are twisting my waist hurts!
"May I call you Akira, or do you prefer my lord or master like a pervert?"
Her nose snorted, but her cheeks were a little red when she mentioned the last two, making me want to slap her face and remind her who was in control here.
"Call me Lord." So I teased the dog.
"Ah!?"
"Ahem... My Lord, then I will continue."
I felt Rena's hand sliding over my behind, caressing my ass like some old man would a girl on a busy train before she whispered into my left ear, her soft lips kissing the tip before blowing hot air inside.
"Aki, this dog woman is getting off on calling you Lord. Did you find a strange girl?"
My mouth remained shut, and I enjoyed the caress of my lovely girlfriend while Yuzu sat beside Sylvia and mimicked her sitting on the rock and making a proud face.
Yuzu is so cute!
"I don't want you to misunderstand when I speak, my lord, so please forgive any offensive words."
"Summoned Ones are treated like slaves, or rather they are given the false idea they are special, and their true purpose is to die in wars between nations or when a civil war or revolt happens to limit the death of residents of this world."
As Sylvia spoke, Yuzu nodded along, seeming to agree or maybe knowing all along but didn't care too much due to being a monster girl.
"However, some nations began to find this brutal as many kingdoms would summon those from another world and then kill them.
Sometimes, they would be killed if they didn't reach the level they desired, either sending them on impossible missions masked as punishments or expeditions to dungeons they say are for level ten or so."
"But, in reality."
"The dungeons are for people above level fifty with five hundred Power Level."
She looked at me and seemed to be shy or feel the contents of the communication were negative in a way, not wanting to upset me and Rena most likely.
"There was once a woman who managed to survive, but because of the horrible conditions and places she fought desperate to survive, she mutated into a monster and soon became the demon queen."
"Now, most nations do their best to destroy that kingdom which accepts any race and person without question..."
Hearing this, I was not sure what to do or how to respond.
Then, wasn't this punishment designed to kill us?
Did those female knights who seemed to wish us to return safely lie, or was there more to things that even Sylvia knew, but she is a princess...
That was unlikely.
"Then why do they kill us after the battle is done?"
"Since they can just snuff us out that easily, can't they turn us into a workforce to earn money and kill monsters for them?"
Rena also began to change her look and seemed worried about her classmates back at the castle. Even if they bullied her, she was kind and didn't want to see them dead or used this way.
I am different, though...
There was no such feeling in my chest as Rena hugged my arm tightly.
"Because they are limited in both life and power."
Eh?
"Eh?"
Her silver eyes widened seeing Rena's reaction and then looking at me before she continued with a gloomy face and looked down.
"Those who are summoned are mere corpses that are killed before transferring them over to this world, and when this happens, the god or goddess that blesses that person places a curse that limits their maximum level and growth so they can never challenge this world's power..."
"Even the one with the Hero or Holy Maiden titles?"
The moment she heard those two titles, her eyes looked worried and in panic as if a taboo was mentioned.
Her silver tail fluffed up, while Yuzu was the same.
"They will become sacrifices..."
"The titles will be transferred to people who were chosen and trained their entire lives for that task, then those who gained the title will lead the armies of whichever kingdom gained them, and chaos and death will wash the lands..."
It was a lot to take in forever with my limited emotions, but for Rena, I could feel her hands trembling as she held onto me, so I grasped them gently, stroking her soft brown fingers and massaging them to help take her mind off the subject.
This chat wasn't all negative thought because I learned that even if there is some kind of limit imposed on us, my class allows me to exceed that limit the stronger my pets get, and as long as they are natives, it's even more effective!
Next was to find a way to transfer more attributes to Rena.
"Sorry if my words were offensive, but you should know the complete truth... If those summoned with you have those titles appearing in people you know, then please don't expect any miracles."
